Bishop James H. Morton (Rev. James H. Morton) preaches a sermon entitled “The Other Side of Midnight” *I don’t have the full sermon just the close of the sermon*
Ah, I simply thought all preachers sounded like that. lol. A lot of "blues men" were preachers & had that same sound all the way back to the 1920s, so I just assumed it was Black American culture. Anyhow, it is now.
Jimmy Morton is an exquisite preacher with a superlative gift for promulgation. I have had the privilege of living in the same city as his baby brother (Paul Morton) and the late Freddie Dunn, Sr.
I'm here today reflecting on Bishop Morton's sermons after watching his homegoing celebration. This is the powerful anointed preaching with story telling that I remember he brought forth each Sunday. Thanks for loading this.
Rev james morton and rev paul morton were always at my old church in Houston Tx every year. I grew up listening to them. Greater Jerusalem Baptist Church
I was blessed to be in a service years ago when Bishop James Morton and Bishop Paul Morton sang a soul-stirring duet followed by a spirit-lifting sermon by Bishop James. Let me just say that it's incredible that the building was still standing when the service was over. I'm only slightly kidding.
Oh I can witness to that! The devil and all his demons had to roll up outta there when them two brothers get started 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. Been to a many Morton brothers revivals✊🏾
Before the calling to True Faith. Rev Morton at that time was CL Franklin’s Organist. Then he was called to True Faith Missionary Baptist Church after Rev. O.W Moore left to go to New Whitestone Missionary Baptist Church. I attended True Faith on Sundays I missed at my Dads Church Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. That’s where I heard Rev. Paul Morton sing “Put Your Hand In the hand of the Man.” He has always preached like that. My friend could sing, man he could sing.
I do have some other classic sermons from legendary preachers on record, just bare with me as I figure out the best way to convert and upload them for your enjoyment!
