I have been a huge fan of David's since he first appeared with the Gaither's. My greatest thrill was going to several concerts where the Gaither's were appearing. However, I have also always loved O Holy Night. but this version by David is now the only one I want to hear. I still cannot hear it without tears and a wonderful peace in spite of the turmoils of the world. Thank you for your "Reaction" to this beautiful rendition.
My favourite singer, my favourite song he has ever sung - but love ALL he does. He is so humble, so awesome, and annointed by God. He can tell the story like no other, because he feels and believes it. I hope he is leading the singing in heaven. Thanks for your reaction - and thanks for the prayer. Bless you too. x
David is the best male vocalist in the world and has been for the past twenty five years...I know...I have seen him live 11 times, all from the front row. I have met him multiple times as well as his family and been to his home twice for concerts there. He is incredibly humnble and gracious and insanely talented. The best in the world....
Well, I love Jul, even though it has nothing to do with Jesus and neither did this song originally which was written by Placide Cappeau, an atheist. It's not so amusing to me considering the history of the northern crusades, my great grandfather was beaten and tortured for being a Jew because the only religion allowed under the King's, or should I say priests that ruled the King's rule. Lest we forget, religion has been a scourge on this world that has caused so incredibly much pain and suffering. The north has no forgiveness.
You really want me to believe that an American Rev has not heard this lots of times?? I live in Northern Ireland and ive listened to this so many times.....
As one vocalist professional to another I'm a second messa soprano I went to Berkeley Boston and that was 5yrs opera and music appreciation and 5 yes new England conservatory opera.
Quisiera dimash kudaybergen tener esa voz tan hermosa esa si es una verdadera voz no la voz de comiquita de vita de Dimash tienen que doblar rodillas delante de este angel como te admiro Rey David Phelps 🤗😉
Reactions are suppose to be to first time experiences of that artist's rendition. You've heard David sing this already. Defeats the purpose. We get blessed by Your first time reaction.
Whilst this version is absolutely fantastic in my opinion, there will always be someone better than David singing this song and thats the doyenne of gospel music Miss Sandi Patti! Sandi is the only one who actually hits the octave on the very last note di-"vine" whereas most folk including David only goes to the perfect fifth! In this arrangement, it begins in 4/4 and there is a short lapse of timing issue between David and his pianist and then the rest of the music hits compound time! The added chorale in this arrangement is simply beautiful and certainly adds to David and Anthonys superb musicality, but for me, Sandi Patti singing this song will always be the best! Anthony burger plays the piano like a harp and it is so wonderful to hear him use the full range of the keyboard and not simply the middle! Bravo David, Anthony and the choir!!!
