Loving this ball. Got it the day it was released. Have about 30 series on it and only 3, 600 series(680, 688, 693) and the rest 700s with a high of 788

I’m a no thumb bowler with similar revs and speed to James. I have a 2LS layout on my new Black Widow 3.0. This is my first black widow ever. I threw it for the first time in league last night and it absolutely crushed. Shot 259, 300, 277 for 836 series!! This ball is very easy to throw and something you can really get after it with your hand. It’s a solid that has shape and is receptive to different hand positions to create more shape. Absolutely love it.

THIS is a video I've been dying to see! The 3.0 looks like a GREAT ball and I was delighted to see the comparison and "mini review" of the 2.0 hybrid. It looks like I won't really have room for the 3.0 as long as I have my Reality, but it's good to know the 3.0 is around just in case and appears to be living up to the very revered standard of the Black Widow line.

Because I so enjoy watching James throw a bowling ball with his sweet swing and release and in the same breath being jealous because I can't? Any who I want one of these. Just punched one up last night. First BW. Man, it's insane how effortlessly the ball just attacks the lane. Certainly have to be mindful of speed and hand but love the shape it gives me. Cant wait to figure it out more.

"Attacks the lane" that's a great way to describe it honestly. I will say that mine feels significantly easier to use now that I've gotten some games on the cover (15-20 games now) and messed with the surface a bit!

Thanks for the video! Very helpful. I am a high rev high speed player that just bought the 3.0. I’m trying to figure out if I should drill pin up or pin down. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

It's a pretty smooth ball, so I probably wouldn't go pin down, might make it float a little too much.

The 3.0 looks nuts from this video . I want one lol but I’m throwing the NU and I feel that these balls both fight for that same spot of being stronger covers better for g1 and g2? The NU gets very dirty very fast and I think that impacts performance for G3 - thoughts?

Nah, I think it's just that with it being bright blue, it shows the dirt a lot more than other balls do. However, the Blue and 3.0 aren't remotely similar, very different balls across the board.

I personally see the 3.0 as less chewy on a pile of oil than my Mindset if they’re at similar surfaces. It’s definitely less positive traction on the cover side if that makes sense. If you’re wanting a Redemption Solid replacement then you’re probably looking at a Mindset or Extreme Envy, kinda depends on which shape you’re after but those two are the monsters worth looking at from B7 right now I think.

I honestly pay zero attention to cover designators… many times they only serve to confuse the arsenal building process IMO

Yeah I mean they're all very different balls, like James said, the cover designator doesn't factor into anything the vast majority of the time.

So you have a 3.0 & 2.0 hybrid would the archetype hybrid fit in between them? Or would it be close to the 2.0H?

No the archetype hybrid is actually stronger than the 3.0

No but I'd like to have one. I think the Hitter is a little stronger and more of a round continuous shape.

Anyone know in terms of stronger would someone get this over a jackal crimson or venom shock. I know the shock is less aggressive but i already have a jackal ghost which i have drilled for long.

I think the Ghost is a little stronger, I'm not sure about the Crimson. Venom Shock definitely a step down.

I have all 3. Ghost is drilled @ 55x4-3/4x60 3.0 @ 45x4-1/2x30 Shock @ 45x4-1/2x40 Ghost is longest and sharpest down lane 3.0 is earliest, a little stronger (for me) and more rounded Shock is about the same length as Ghost and the shape is kinda in-between the other two but quite a bit weaker in overall hook.

What would be some balls that are a step up from this? If this were my second ond ball on a league night. I throw 20mph+ at times comfortably. 400+ revs. What's stronger?

Not many, and the problem here is going to be your speed. Stronger balls like the Extreme Envy are also going to be earlier and smoother, so they may not FEEL stronger necessarily. The Archetype Hybrid and Hammer Effect would be two that I think would be the best combination of strength and shape and would feel the most like balls up from this one.

@lukerosdahl I wanted to get an extreme envy and a effect because I feel like they are one "above" then one "below" I may need to play with surfaces also but ive never really tried. Just came back from a 8 year break and found out I'm way better lol avg. 225 since Feb in league but only have one ball so it's interesting. I appreciate your response!! 💪🏽

@@rickeyedgar5862 LOL, that happens sometimes, taking a break clears out the bad habits! I think the Effect is more of a ball sideways from the 3.0, one that you should definitely take a look at as a ball down is the Theorem. Very good one that a lot of people are having a lot of success with.
