Was just talking about Lucy yesterday! My Hairdresser was going to the hair of a 100 year old woman named Lucille! I asked "as in Ball?" Obviously not Lucille Ball but it started a conversation all about Lucy! I have seen every episode, read every book. I truly love Lucy.

Before Lucy went to Hollywood she was a model for designer Hattie Carnegie. She was probably hired because her build was similar to movie star Joan Bennett's and Joan was a regular customer.

Wow, I really never noticed that dress being used twice! The dress looks like lace over tulle , the inserts positively look like tulle. Great spot Rck! I really enjoyed this! ( I did hear in the earlier (and Desi & Lucy movies)episodes Lucy worn her own dresses from rl.

Double Dress 👗 I noticed in the Beverly Hillbillies they showed Miss Jane once pulling into the front gate and she was driving one of her many Dodge Polara Convertibles she got a new one every year then when she pulled up to the clampett's front door she had a one year newer car. I'm a car guy so I noticed that and I loved all of miss Jane's Dodge Convertibles.

Rick, I too caught the Double Dress and related it to Hazel, Lucy's stand in; I believe Desliu had wardrobe they kept on site that the actors including Lucy and Desi wore in character, perhaps for tax reasons; I noted too Lucy wore a lovely flower type outfit on the show that she wore also in the movie Forever Darling.

This is such fun info on the Double Dress. You always find interesting tidbits on classic shows. They had no idea the shows would be on discs or streaming so people would watch so many times to notice details like this. I think they would be honored we all enjoy things like this.

While I don't pay enough attention to all the old shows I like to be able to notice details like this, I admit to being vain enough to watch the costuming in an Outdoor Drama I was a cast member in 1975, and Music Director in 2012. I was truly amazed in 2012 to see the very same costume I wore in 1975. Production company works hard to keep things going without buying new stuff if possible. Thanks for your eagle eye!

I have seen that this episode did use the same dress. I have always thought that the flowers on the dress were a silver lame’ fabric. I love your videos they are great. Double Dress P.S. l was watching the 6th annual Emmy Awards and if you notice when Vivian Vance wins for best supporting actress she is wearing a blouse that she has worn on the I Love Lucy show.

As soon as I clicked on this video I thought “this dress was also worn by someone else in the background in another episode.” So I did notice that before. I am a seamstress and sewing teacher and to me, the dress looks like it is mostly a floral lace overlay with tulle insertion in the skirt. So pretty!

Double Dress 👗. I never noticed the dresses 👗 being the same before. That was very interesting; now I know who Lucy's stand-in was. The episode with a very young Barbara Eden is one of my all-time favorites. Lucy is absolutely 💯 % hysterical in it.

I hated this episode after I found out how hideous Desi was chasing Barbara Eden around - she had to hide in her dressing room from him. Not only totally disgusting towards his wife but also ugly towards a young star on the set who wanted nothing to do with him. I can't watch that episode or find it funny. Desi at this point was aging rapidly and a few years later looked a lot older than he actually was - due to all his boozing - in a few years he looked bloated and not attractive at all.

Hazel Pierce would have made a great "mystery guest" on What's My Line? in the 50s. Not taking a chance that one of the panelists would recognize her as a background actor on I LOVE LUCY, they would probably need to blindfold the panelists.

Lol. I had a friend in college that, when you were watching a show, would list the complete credits of all the extras in the background. "See that guy?!! He's in alot of westerns and..." Now, my mom could sit there and watch an entire Columbo, and then when the killer was exposed, she'd say, "Well that's not fair. They just bought him on at the end. He wasn't even in the show." (uh, yes he was)

I’m sure I’ve said this a million times- I have always noticed when Lucy or Ricky etc has worn same outfits themselves on different episodes but not when another actor or actress has. My favorite things too is picking out actors who played different characters in different episodes ex: The milkman played also the butler when they were in California the milkman when the one that Ricky and Fred had to bet the women about not gossiping I believe was the episode those are the kinds of things I like to pick out when they have certain actors that play multiple different parts and different shows. Also the majority of my young adult life watching Lucy I always thought that once they move to Connecticut those were the Lucy and Desi comedy hour episodes it wasn’t until I found your channel and realize that those weren’t it. So in answer to your question no I never noticed those type of things.

This has nothing to do with I Love Lucy; however, since I've been watching your video's I've started becoming more aware of seeing things in the shows. Last week I was watching The Odd Couple TV show Season 3 Episode 5 "The Odd Monk". This week I was watching Season 3 Episode 6 "I'm Dying of Unger" and I noticed that the same beds used in the monastery in Episode 5 were used the cabin in Episode 6. I never noticed that before and I have seen both of the episodes many times. Thanks Rick for awakening my eye. Keep up the great work.
