Have you had issues with the front lift on your C8? What happened? Comment below! 😎

Just wondering what you eventually decided to do 11 months after you made this video? If you bought a new front lift? Also, could a GM dealership do the programming/learning of the new front lift for you even if you installed it yourself?

Great video and you take it over the top as in a great job in explaining everything. Really great job and you seem to be a genuine person. Keep it up, like all your videos I've came across so far. I just picked up my 2023 C8 Stingray Hypersonic Gray 3LT Z51 with lift. Everything else is stealth or carbon flash. Can't wait to finally break it in. You should have a lot more subscribers. Keep going and hopefully see you in another one or one day a newer corvette. Again, your videos have been great and I'll keep watching. Cheers!

Excellent video sir! I love it when engineers show up and bring enlightenment to their BS. Most mechanics just read the bulletin and follow the directions. rarely do the do any troubleshooting outside of hooking up a computer and saying "Theres your problem!" 3k later....

Did you were able to remove the sensor? maybe by removing and reinstalling fix the issue. I bleed both actuators but didn't solve my issue.

That was an excellent, well detailed explanation. Thanks so very much for for all the background work!! So, until GM figures out a permanent fix for this sensor problem, I wonder if there is anything that we can do to prevent your type of gradual lift failure? I as well have a crappy driveway & maybe engaging the lift with a perpendicular approach?
@NuHorizonC8
@NuHorizonC8 Год назад
Hey Mark thanks for the comment! Thats actually what I would recommend. Engaging the front lift BEFORE hitting an irregular incline should mitigate that effect and making sure to go at the best perpendicular angle to minimize side to side angles. Thanks again for commenting! 😎👍

Great video and explanation on the collars voiding warranty if front lift fails. I bought the collars from Paragon and the day I was doing my first oil change, I was going to lower my C8. So glad I backed out. I do want to lower my C8, to get rid of the wheel gap. Looking forward to any information on solving this problem.
@NuHorizonC8
@NuHorizonC8 Год назад
Hey Rayvillegas2727 thanks for the comment. So Id say that going with lowering springs may be able to work. There is still a risk of voiding your warranty because of the nature of either MOD but at least in this case there is not a specific GM bulletin out for it. Hope this helps

You are correct. My car experienced a warning after my delivery. I belive what caused the warning was when I lifted the car in the middle of the driveway when the wheels are not on a level ground. The uneven pressure detection by the sensor triggers the warning. Thereafter, the lift would work occasionally to about 70%. I belive the oil pressure equalized over tome and the system worked fine with no warning after that. I currently have almost 17k miles with no issues. So, if you have a lift, anticipate and be patient. Let the car lift all the way on a level ground, then proceed into the curb. Also, let the car lower on a level ground. This car is very computerized. Sometimes, you need to let it sit and it will reset. If not, try clearing the warning signal. Having said that, I can see how the system would not reset in an extream case or like you said over a prolong period.

This is the exact reason why I did not want front lift. I made a mistake when ordering mine and I forgot to take it out and have used it once and don’t see the need for it at all where I live. I am hoping I never have to use it and that way it never breaks

Phenomenal video very informative really appreciate your videos. I have a C8 with front lift and mag suspension. Do you have to use the lowering collars if you do lowering springs all the way around? I love my front Lyft I use it every day multiple times lol. I put a front splitter on it and I don’t want that thing to get ruined by scraping on the ground. I just ordered Paragon lowering springs and front lift collar. Do I have to use the collar or can I just use the lowering springs?
@NuHorizonC8
@NuHorizonC8 6 месяцев назад
Hey thanks for the comment I appreciate it! When it comes to the C8 and front lift with mag ride, you dont necessarily need to do lowering collars if your going to do lowering springs all around. In fact, Id not even do the lowering collars at all and just do the springs. the collars are ultimately designed for folks with the front lift and z51 package who just want to lower the coilovers built into the z51 suspension. The rears can be adjusted with sprockets but the front lift prevents allowing you to do the same with the fronts which is where the collars come into play. Not sure if you have seen my old install video for lowering the C8, theres a chart early in the video that goes over the options you can do. I have it linked here. Hope that helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i3_TzQY7804.html

@@NuHorizonC8 man you’re awesome. I really appreciate you responding to me. I ordered the lowering collars thinking I needed them. When really I just wanted to use lowering springs all the way around. Your videos are phenomenal very detailed and I appreciate you making them keep them coming because I’ll keep watching lol. With my new C8, always got different ideas in different different things. I wanna do to it so watching your videos definitely keeps me in the loop. Thank you again.!!

Hey I’ve got a C8 with the same issues. Was sitting on a hoist for 2 days then put it down and had service nose lift. We do have the Paragon collars in it and gmsv won’t look at the issue unless the collars are out. How did you end up fixing your issue?

I don't think you need to reprogram anything. I had to replace one of my front MR shocks with front lift and all I had to do was swap it and everything was good to go.
@NuHorizonC8
@NuHorizonC8 Год назад
Hey Sire thanks for the comment! That interesting (and helpful) to hear. Everything I researched showed you needed the Diagnostic tool to reprogram the height sensors afterwards. Least in the technical service manual its part of their procedure. So that would be neat if a simple swap could do it.
@sawdust75
@sawdust75 Год назад
@@NuHorizonC8 Even if it's not necessary, recalibrating the ride height maybe beneficial. In my case I would have liked to have had the ride-height recalibrated after the lowering. I suspected that the height sensor was giving out-of-range readings after the lowered suspension settled after 6 months (and thus possibly causing the lift "failure"), but when lowering collars are removed, everything is back to normal & operational.
@sawdust75
@sawdust75 Год назад
Interesting story, but I wonder if your lift actuator/sensor was really faulty. I had a similar "delayed" or progressive front-lift failure after lowering collars were installed. Over the span of about 6 months the front-end lift gradually deteriorated from (a) fully functional, to (b) working only once per start, to then (c) rise but then immediately lower, to (d) finally not lifting at all & with a "Service front lift" message" always on startup. As a test prior to any repair, I removed the lowering collars, and the lift system was again fully operational without replacing anything. I've kept the C8 stock w/o the collars for a year now, and still undecided if I'll try lowering it again.

Thanks for posting this. I'm having the same symptoms on my C8. When you say using the lowering collars voided your warranty is that just for suspension rated issues or your entire warranty?
@NuHorizonC8
@NuHorizonC8 Год назад
Hey david thanks for your comment. The warranty would be voided on the suspension rated issues. If a dealer decides to state that an issue with your transmission or your nav screen was caused by your front lift which are completely separate systems, id be challenging that.

@@NuHorizonC8 Thanks for the reply...that makes sense. I've deleted all of my stored lift locations as many were unnecessary and activated the lift on an incline. As you mentioned that activating the lift on an incline does seem to be trigger the service lift code. Moving forward I'm going to try manually activating the lift BEFORE I get to an incline and see if that is a temporary fix for the problem. I only really only need the lift for my driveway. I also wonder if going over speed bumps before the lift has full extended could also be problematic. So I'm going to avoid that too. I'll let you know how this works out

@NuHorizonC8
@NuHorizonC8 Год назад
Hey C8MiamiCarclub thanks for the comment. And potentially yes but you do run the risk of that part being damaged to begin with off of a crashed car. They do have somewhat of a surplus of suspension parts from c8s that had to get salvaged at the production plant from the tornadoes that hit some time ago. That may be an option as well I've been considering
