All good and well, but pls the narrator really really really needs to work on how to pronounce local names. I understand that Americans have a really hard time with foreign languages as maybe 99% are mono-lingual (i.e., the non-Hispanic population), but when you narrate something beautiful as this video my ears hurts when nearly every name was said incorrectly.

Gr8 video! My fav story about Peru was Kon-tiki, about the researchers that sailed a balsa raft to sail from Peru to Polynesia to prove Polynesians may have come from South America. What is important about Peru is knowing humans were there before Biblical times, and that they were there and their culture survived the Christian invasion is important. My daughter is Latin-American, because I met her Mom, five years before she was born, our only child, after being sent to work in Latin America for only the second time in my life, the first time being in Venezuela in '90. I fell in love with the people and those like u who celebrate them, and their countries and cultures. I was raised in the Napa Valley, which had a wine industry which depended on seasonal migrants from Mexico, where my daughter's mother was from. Your video is well done and respectful of the culture that became part of my life being born in the America's but also experiencing cultures in Europe, my travels to Oceania, Puerto Rico, Canada and Japan. I cannot count the number of countries I have seen. Peru is still on my bucket list, as is China and Australia--I know I will go to all three having seen them vicariously in videos like yours.

When I first graduated in the mid-1980s, I wanted to go visit Peru but was discouraged by a Peruvian friend because of his country's unstable political environment. I think it is ok now but still haven't gone to Peru yet. As my Peruvian friend said, if you love mountains, you will be able to see real mountains in Peru.

When I graduated in the late-1980's I was introduced to Peru by a fellow student. We went on a research trip to his native town Iquitos. At the end of the journey, through dense jungle and sketchy river boats up in the Madre de Dios estuaries, we slept over in a remote village. I didn't understand it at the moment but was later told it was the regional headquarter for Shining Path. All good, I survived, even the swim across the piranha and snake congested lake. The trip resulted in me totally falling in love with the country, its people and nature, so that I started my own research project over the next +10 yrs. Some yrs later I permanently moved back for post-grad studies and research, found a wife and got children. But still, it was tiresome and as you say, somewhat difficult to live there: I always would be a gringo in ppls eyes and thus, bound to be exploited in any form and means. So I cried with both sorrow and happiness the day I took my family back to Northern shores.
