you sir are an absolute legend. my transcript is SCARILY similar to yours except I was stronger my first two years...and am only going to pull a C+ in ap chem
Taking AP chem is my biggest mistake.. I mean studying 1-7 hours a night knowing my teacher barely gives out A’s for final grades and is on probation meaning he’s not allowed to FAIL anyone is just dissatisfying to me
@@JackKubinec How did you do on your AP Biology and AP Chemistry exams ??? I really want to take these classes and hopefully succeed in them !!! Please share any advises that could possibly assist me!!! Thank you.
Bro I feel you man, I took AP chem and it was a disaster. It was such a disaster because we went so much in depth on every topic that it just got confusing and I got lost
the ACT science section is a shit show. the key is to only skim the prompt but focus on the actual questions in each section. the ACT is all abt time management
Hey Jack, I’ve been watching some of your videos recently and I have to agree. I took AP chem my junior year as well and it is a really tough class, but for anyone watching it is definitely in your best interest to challenge yourself! Although AP chemistry was not my best class, I still enjoyed it and ended up taking organic chemistry the following year and doing very well. So for those lcds kids watching this video in the coming years, take the class and don’t be afraid to fail. Just because you’re not good at something in the beginning doesn’t mean you can’t work to get better in the future. Follow your interests, not just the classes that will give you the best grades.
Yeah, AP chem nearly killed me. Just know that it’s stretching you and people grow through challenges. If it’s any help, what I started doing was getting blank sheets of paper and just writing out everything I knew about chem over and over. It helped me memorize concepts faster and start to internalize them. You got this!
ACT is a better test for “pointy” people- I suck at science and math so my perfect English and Reading scores really balanced me out to the point where I had an acceptable score (32). Also, I could tell from your last video that you seemed like a mock trialer- the suit/well spoken combo is always a dead giveaway
George S Patton I have a 3.86, but my courseload is insane so I don’t think mine is bad. I doubt yours would be bad either, considering you’re interested in Cornell, because you’re probably doing hard coursework.
Hey can you give us some quick tips to prepare the SAT? I am taking it in May, and my first try was 1390 (R:700 M:690) I studied a lot on my own and I was doing really great in practice test (+1470). I was really nervous in the exam, and also the curve was brutal. But I want to try new ways to study and see if they maaaay work. Btw congratulations for your acceptance and your scores!!!
I’ll be putting out a video on how to study for the sat soon. For now, just be consistent. It’s important to do something every day (even if it’s only 10-15 minutes).
This was so entertaining. Thank you for the table of contents which was useful. The whole video was very helpful. Do most top schools ask for both the SAT and ACT? Btw your mustache reminded me of Westley from The Princess Bride. LOL
In my experience, no school asks for both. You can submit both, but they don’t generally require or recommend doing so. Also, thanks!! I’ve had to shave the stache, unfortunately.
PSAT scores and SAT scores aren’t equivalent because they are not out of the same amount. A psat score translates to a 100-120 points higher SAT score.
FYI, I was surprised by how you got into Cornell but not NYU in your reactions vid, but now I get it: NYU requires three subject tests to even consider admissions. So you didn't fail because you weren't smart, but because you didn't have enough subject tests. Yay? :)
"Also i got like a 16 on the writing portion, i think schools are starting to realise that that's kinda bs anyways. at least that's what i whispered to myself while crying myself to sleep" *im DEAD*
It depends on the student. Mental health should always be the #1 priority and definitely should take precedent over college. That being said, it’s good to be challenged, and if she’s able to handle that type of course load, I see no problem with it.
U got a 4 in AP chem but found the act science hard what???!!!! Act science is like 2+2 compared to AP chem and u did well u probably just over thought it
Did your school offer SAT subject tests?! Please answer because it’s something I’m burning to know... despite my school being a Charter high school, mine doesn’t offer any subject tests that I’m aware of sadly!
My grades freshman through junior year were horrible...I’m currently a senior and rocking my classes, that and I took the SAT four flipping times. Scary stuff
They require different skills. Since sat is all multiple choice, a lot more rote memorization is involved. I might make a full length video on the details of that if enough people are interested.
