Being a Gotrax rider, I can say that the solid wheels on the Macwheel are an advantage having suffered from several flats in an urban environment. The added shocks look like they more than make up for the smoothness of the air filled tires, and the added range is just a bonus. Probably worth the extra money though it looks like they need to figure out the issues with their kickstand.
Thanks for your insight on riding a Gotrax scooter! I agree that the no maintenance features of the Macwheel solid tires is a big plus. Think they are able to do this and still have a comfortable ride by adding the shocks. Let’s hope Gotrax makes some of these changes with their next model.
I personally own the GOTRAX GX2 or its also known as the GOTRAX "Rival" Commuting Scooter. And I've had it about 2 weeks now. And I gotta say I love the disc brakes performance, the 2 changeable gears or 'speeds'. The bright LED beam headlight, for night riding. The air filled tires come pre-filled with slime to prevent air leakage from a puncture. But here is where I have my questions...I notice when I ride in first gear rather then second the battery last longer then if I were in 2nd gear. As a matter of fact its a HUGE noticeable difference because let's say I had my s outer plugged in for the full 4 hrs it takes to charge from dead 2 full. And I just disconnected it from the charger and its battery display reads out a "Full Battery" so 2 speak, then why, if I was to ride in 2nd gear from the rip(from the start), does it already loose one bar of battery then TWO BARS after only about 45 seconds of riding it! Then let's say I come to a complete stop at a traffic light I notice the LED display on the battery life will most of the time peak back up to either 3 bars...if not back to the FULL 4 bars of battery when at a standstill. But as soon as I'm hitting that 15mph-15.5mph speed again the bars will drop back down then completely die out after only about 5 minutes of riding in the 2nd gear.???!!!??? I mean I use the 'cruise control' function the most lemme tell ya and I get the most range I notice if I just leave it in 1st gear BUT only going a pace of 9-9.5mph
I recently bought the gotrax and am completely satisfied with it The macwheel has some definet advantages but alll things considered im very happy with my gotrax
Im seriously torn between this, the classic xaiomi m365 and the Hiboy Max. I very much like no disc brakes as I'm a bicycle mechanic and adjusting those brakes is a pain.
I have the GoTrax GXL2 and love it for first scooter. I would like a battery upgrade to get more miles but not sure if that is available, I haven't looked up anything in that or any mods. On the 1st speed setting it limits to about 9.5mph, its slow, it wasn't fun to ride and battery was dead about 9 miles. I only tried that trip 2 times. My usual fun trip is to the grocery store on speed 2 - 15.5mph is about 6.4 miles total trip and they have a wall socket next to the bike racks so I plug it in while in the store, it easily does the trip without that charge but I just like that little extra power. And basically 30 minutes of charge gets a mile ride...
This MX3 would be perfect if it had disc breaking in the back instead of what looks like a friction on tire contact break system, Hope I'm wrong because that is just dumb as fuck. Kudos on adding dual suspension at such a great price point though.
Macwheel blows. do not buy. Got brand new from amazon. 4 or 5 rides and the motor just cuts out every 5 seconds. Then the rear break just fell off. what a POS. emailed iMacwheel, good luck they are in the Czech Republic. Returning this toy to amazon. Advice, buy a scooter from a local shop so you can bring it back for repairs.
American pricing has always annoyed me. In the early 60's as a kid, every dollar was a big deal but I was really into CB Radio. Late Sixties and Seventies. Well, the Vacuum tube radios had vastly Superior fidelity, they were severely limited in amazing new features. So. these were Dream Machines and I had my share, Right? But getting an American Radio Shack catalog really Sucked. The pricing was only half what I could earn selling empty's or something like getting a real part time job like selling greeting cards. So why is it that Americans made so much money off poor young kids in Canada LOL? Anyway I did order the one with the air tires and anxiously await it. I'm old now and hope I can actually ride the Darn thing. $621 ?. Superman Comics were ten cents when I got into bushiness with my little red wagon.. Ha ha. Dad jokes, Right? Would you really put your granddad on one of those things so he can go buy some milk? Actually not Joking there. It's coming! Can I really handle it? I'm having second thoughts. Does it have seat belts?
