Vikes fan here, I watched Zimmers defense go from being elite to one of the worst in football! I’m not sure the old man has it anymore.

I gotta say how impressed I was that the Cowboys are already playing playoff caliber football. Mike Zimmer's D-fence was ranked 29th the last 2 years he was the coach at Minnesota, so it's impressive he can put the Cowboys in Playoff mode this fast, is amazing.

Thank you for this breakdown video. I like the balance of holding Zimmer accountable along with the players. Some of the blame for the ass whupping we got has to go to Zimmer. I believe we are better than what we showed on the field vs the Saints, but the coaches and players have to show and prove.

Defense. The way the D line got whooped. I dunno what they were trying to do. Offene. Please get Flournoy some snaps. This non-explosive group ain't scaring anyone. The RB's the Jets cut are better than our entire room.

@JC Cowboys Network brotha I'm going to disagree with you on two plays. The first is Diggs. I dont think he was playing off man. Weve seen diggs play that extremely well before. It looked like a Matchup Zone Coverage. Specifically MOD (Man-Outside-Deep) coverage. It looked like Diggs was releasing his man inside and then realiEd there was no one because they wer doubling on the other side and broke to go with his man. The scheme caused the hesitation not any real mistake by Diggs. Remember, Zimmer said he wants his players to not just know their assignments but others. I think you saw Diggs be heads up and go with his man but it still gave up a big play. The scheme got beat. The second play was Kendricks on the screen. I didnt blame Kendicks for that because there was a guard on him. D Law didnt play the block on that he attacked aggressively. Remember in the off season Zimmer said that sometimes, people woukd need to take on blocks to allow someone else to make the play. Look at that screen. Osa plays the blocks, Mazi plays the blocks, Parsons plays the blocks. They have four players occupied and Clark runs free on the left. D Law releases, Liafau played his block bu drifted upfield too much. If D Law plays his block, Kendricks would not have had a guard on him. Zimmer appears to want the lineman to rush disciplined and D Law rarely does that. He is impatient and he fell for the banana. I also saw a lot of personnel issues defensively. Why wasnt Overshone playing in base instead of Clark? Whynwas Kneeland sitting and Parsons playing outside? The adjustment should have been to move Parsons off ball and sit Clark. Have Kneeland and Chauncey setting the edge and move Parsons around so they cant get an obvious read on where he is. Rotate some combination of Liafau and Overshone in at the 3rd LB and then lets see their double team work. Brotha, this was still great analysis. I simply disagreed on two plays. I can actually see Zimmers vision. But the def tackles have to play better. Even if they just get dudes in front of them and get in the way so Kendricks and Overshone and Parsons can flow, its ok. But dont just attack. Im pretty sure The DTs in thus scheme are to engage a man, absorb a double if it comes, stay square to the line of scrimmage and control their gaps. That didnt happen a lot against the saints. Ive watched this stupid game 4 times..... Dont get me started on the offense. McCarthy and his play a vanilla offense early in the season approach irritates me. Good film work as usual brotha. Im just still upset.

I can understand corners being 10 yards off in cover 3. But having them that far off in man is crazy. Saints speed at receiver must've made Zimmer pee his pants or sum.

The coaches and their schemes are outdated, which means all of our games, win or lose will be tough.

The prima donnas on this team simply don't put in the work to prevent these ridiculous performances. If the players spent as much time as Sean Lee or Lee Roy Jordan prepping for a game, they would be Super Bowl winners. Instead they think their physical traits can make up for their lack of knowledge of the game plan and the opponent. Been a Cowboy fan for 52 seasons. What a joke these days.
