A chapter by chapter and verse by verse study of Revelation taught by Pastor Paul LeBoutillier of Calvary Chapel Ontario, Oregon. Visit us at www.ccontario.com for online studies through the entire Bible.
I’m excited about this study of Revelation. No matter how many times I read it, it remains confusing but I keep trying. Holy Spirit, reveal to all those watching this series what You want us to know. Thank you Lord and thank you Pastor Paul.
Pastor Paul, I got saved about a month ago today and somehow God led me to your videos!! I'm so thankful for him leading me here and for him guiding you to upload these. He's already taken me on an amazing journey. I've been watching your videos everyday for my own bible study.
I just had a Spirit led understanding on one thing at the end of your message. The access to The Tree of Life that was denied to Adam and Eve, denied access by all on the earth from having an eternal life in sin. If no man could die, there would not have been the opportunity for a man w/o sin to die as the perfect sacrifice for my sin and sin of all mankind. Jesus who was all Man and all God, was able to come to earth in the flesh, suffer, and die for atonement for all who believed in Him. It is a beautiful conclusion to a wonderful story of God's love, foreknowledge, and intricate plan to give us the opportunity for reconciliation to Him. Praise The Lord.
yes, repentance = change of mind/direction. it goes together. so true! thank you pastor paul for going through the book of revelation. i am learning so much from your teachings, God bless you abundantly 💞
Thank you Pastor Paul for opening up Revelation to us. I need to listen to your teaching over and over not to miss anything. I love the deep meaning of "The Tree of Life" God is in control nothing can or will shake Him. He is our Rock. Blessings to you Pastor and your family.
I think the Historical-Prophetic model definitely has merit, but I also think that, like the seven churches themselves, that these designations can also refer to the heart of people and congregations today. Christians who are at risk of losing (or have lost) their first love, Christians who are persecuted (and persevere), Christians who are at risk of compromising (or fallen into it), Christians who are tolerating sin inside their congregation (and what will happen if they don't deal with it), Christians who are at risk of relying on works and religious ritual (or have ended up doing that), Christians who are fruitful, and Christians who are at risk of complacency (or have become complacent). To all these people, Jesus has a message of either encouragement or warning, both of which He gives out of His love for them.
It seems clear the Ephesus church loved Jesus and each other from the works they were doing and the protective stance they took against false teachers. I believe the first love is the reaching out to the general population (streets). This is why their light was in jeopardy. It was not that they would lose their salvation but their effectiveness in attracting the lost to Christ would be seriously affected. They had become comfortable tending to their own flock rather enduring the suffering of making new converts.
I don’t see why there can’t be prophetic significance in the seven church letters for the different periods in church history. There are many layers of revelation in the Word so why not? God is certainly able to reveal in His Word what is, was, and is to come. All in one chapter or even in one verse if He chooses. We should not try and put Him in a box. He is the King of the universe!
I have become a complainer and it's not good. Maybe this is why the love of many grows cold. Lawlessness can be so frustrating it can make me mean and cynical. What a temptation. Anger is a trap.
