Mine's been languishing in the stash for about a decade, but seeing this has inspired me to grab some 80 grit sandpaper and have a go at her. Great video, thanks for posting!
Excellent!! It is a bit of hard work.. please let me know if your end wing sections have recesses to accept the lugs, or if they are just blank like mine and I got dodgy kit and had to cut off the lugs and glue flush.. thank you very much for watching. 👍👍👍
@@lowrentrick Just checked, mine DOES have slots, but they're very narrow (less than 1mm) and poorly defined. I'll no doubt end up down the superglue route too!
@@UncleTadhg thank you for checking!! I didn’t see even a 1mm gap on mine.. it did have quite an edge on the larger pieces too.. at least you know it’s something you’ll have to do now instead of it being a surprise like I got 😂😂

Hi. Nice job on the Victor. Beautiful plane. I had this same kit, but never finished it. Like you I used it to test painting methods. My kit was really bad, lots of parts just didn't fit together. I had huge gaps, and the canopy was totally warped. But, in fairness it is a very old tooling. I have been thinking about picking up the Airfix model.
I would guess the lacking slot in the wing will possibly be down to tool wear/damage and repair/refinish. It's common to laser weld repair or remove a feature creating a cavity if it becomes damaged. Normally it's wouldn't fly (pardon the pun) but as its a hobby kit most moulders won't worry as what's a little fettling in a model kit? wonderful finish there. I love the Victor and especially the Vulcan. I tend to build 1:48 and have a hankering for the new 1:48 SR71 but would love a 1:48 vulcan and Victor... alas I don't have a spare room for them...so I will likely pick up good 1:72 versions at some point.
Beautiful work as always Rick when I made one a a few years ago I got some old shoe laces to simulate the refuelling lines and attached them to a tornado sadly I don’t have either kits any more :(.
