Revell 1:72 Schnellboot Part 1 Box Open, Review and Dry Fit 

I have that model . I chose to paint it light aircraft grey . turned out much better than you would think . color fits it perfectly.

The flaps are over the business end of the torpedo tubes, one on either side of the bow. I have the same kit sitting in my stash. I'll have to have a look for the PE set for it.

Great video Harry, I have an Airfix 1/72 MTB as a Christmas present around 1974 which I've never built. I might just try it now.

Got a Revell 21 class u boat with internals.. But I hit a wall a decade ago over lighting it... No point endless it, s lit...

Nice review mate. I was looking at the Italscarey MTB boat in 1/35 . It also has some after market parts and has amazing detail. Enjoy the build.

The bumps on the hull are exhaust outlets and need to be opened. Best regards from Norway

Hey Harry looking forward to you building this little boat. I've got the much older version in the stash with the Griffon PE detail set. I also got an Airfix S-10 E-boat (enemy boat) which I think is an older version of the real thing with a bit more detail. Historically the E-boat was supposed to be the S-100's predecessor but I can't find reference to the designation S-10.

I had the same thing happen with an italeri kit in the UK. Amazon must have some new manager making ‘savings’ in the packing department.

One more detail: In all the pictures I've seen of these boats, they always have some sort of canvas mounted to the side railing. Like in this picture: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c8/German_E-Boat_S_204_surrenders_at_Felixstowe_on_13_May_1945.jpg Recreating that on the model would probably remove a bit of impresion of detail by the observer, but it would make it more authentic. (Hope you don't mind me making these comments.)

Make sure you talk to Amazon by phone, don't send an email to complain. Last time I got stiffed (Had to replace my cell phone glass), I called and got a full refund no questions asked. I had the same thing happen with an airfix swordfish. Luckily the kit was fine but the box was trashed. 😬

Effers aren't they ! In the past week me and the Missus have had 3 parcels not delivered by them, two last night, at 10.45pm both came up on the tracking as " delivered to your safe location " which was a total lie ! Got onto their customer services straight away via chat, and they gave us 5 quid each as a good will gesture, and an instant refund. As for the labels, that's happened to me no end of times, even with a few Meng kits, which really busted my man sack because Meng boxes are lovely, and designed to "enhance the aesthetic quality" of the kit. When you order from them in future, make sure you tick the " this is a gift" option, that way it will deffo be in a proper Amoron box . Well that's my rant over, great video btw buddy :)

I'm building the Bronco 1/350 version of this boat. I'll have my therapist let you know how it goes, lol.

Never saw kit shipped minus packaging...oh man...nifty choice model ..

I had some drongo from Russia send me the Zvezda Star Destroyer kit. He took the kit out of the box and wrapped the kit in newspaper to save on postage meanwhile he still charged the going rate for shipping on eBay. Needless to say, the kit did not make it intact, the part count increased by about 1/3. A lot of the pieces were gluable but some were panels were bent out of shape.

Nice to see some folks in Gerogia are doing nothing to dispell the sterotype. The kit looks good should be an interesting build. I think it pathe that has a video on you tube that covers the surrender of the German S boats and the comments from the British sailors in comparison of the MTB and MGB vs the bigger German boats is interesting to see.

I might give this one a crack after watching this mate... I can empathise with damaged Revell kits from overseas...Boils my piss every time I get a flat one lol

Correction - the big bumps are exhaust outlets. The smaller ones are inlets for the cooling water.

Those are torpedo tube doors.

Amazon never cease to amaze with their packaging, it's either too much or not enough and Revell boxes need a lot of protection, as they are so flimsy. Saying that my Apple crumble (Roberts Class Monitor) came in a plastic postage envelope with no padding, but Trumpeter do use very robust boxes. I hope you've made a complaint Amazon. All that aside, it looks a lovely kit.

Regarding the red, white and yellow lifebuoy s, I guess those colors makes sense. You probably don't want to be camouflaged when you lie there swimming in the ocean, after your ship has sunk. You want to be found and picked up, whether it's by your own or by the enemy.

Also, note that the hull on these boats are made from wood on the real thing. You can actually see the wooden planks in the hull on the real boats, so the hull on the model is actually much smoother than the real thing. Hah, that doesn’t surprise me any about how that kit showed up to you, especially when someone sends anything in the mail, the whole worldwide mail service isn’t worth a sht anymore, hell it hasn’t been worth a sht in a long time. Most of the people that work for the mail, in general, just do not give a sht, they take no pride in their work, they are just there for a paycheck and that’s it! The United States Postal Service has really gotten bad in the last 10-15 years or so, you know back when I was a kid or even through my 20’s , the mail service used to have pretty good people working for them, of course they used to hire, pretty much, nothing but civil service people but hell, the last 15-20 years or something, they must hire nothing but people right off the streets! Geez! Oh well, I better shut up, I’ll never quit going on about it! lol! Anyways, nice kit there HH! 👍👍🤘✌🏻
