I totally understand how you feel about your childhood days of building models and riding bike. That was me starting about age 8. Im 50 now and I still love buying and building models and detailing them. Searching for all the cool products that are available on the net. Its a great time to be in the hobby. Even better than back then, but its still great having those memories. 👍😎
Awesome! I never thought I'd see this again! I had one back in the late '80s (got it at Kmart!). Moved it around so much that it started falling apart. Eventually tossed it, I suppose. I've checked eBay from time to time, but they always want an arm and a leg. I'm heading over to my local model shop and ordering one!

This is great news. I built this kit as a kid in the 70's. I never knew that it was re-released in 93. I could not find any information on this kit from the places I normally order kits from so I decided to try Amazon and to my surprise they have it so yes I ordered one. I still have the rear wheels and tires from the kit I built all those years ago.
No Kmart when I was younger, but I remember my dad bringing me a model home from Toledo every once in awhile. Didn't get the bikes, but my childhood memory is the Orange blossom special pulling truck.
I built one of these back in the early 70s and lost it somewhere in the last several decades, but a few years ago purchased an original unbuilt kit. Looks like they did a good job with this reproduction!
I was only 5 when this first came out , but I’ll be picking one for sure . My first model from Kmart was the BJ and Bear Kenworth , ah the good ole days . Thank you for stickers 👍🏻
I had the Evil Iron as a kid in the late '70's. I found it again online in the early 2000's in the original box art, which I still have. I didn't know about the Ghostrider until recently nor the Dragonfire. I now absolutely have to have them, all of them! Thanx for this update Tim.
Very very cool, Tim! I was born in 1972 and I actually don’t remember seeing these motorcycles kits. They are real cool and huge lol. fun fact I worked for Kmart from June 1991 through May 1992. During my time at Kmart, the big thing with the model kits were the days of thunder race car kits. I bought one of each back then 😁
That was a great look at the kit and the awesome trip down memory lane. I did build the Dragonfire as the first edition and my mom worked for Zellers at the time so I always got her discount. I can't wait for the Dragonfire to be released, I loved the Corvair engine in it and now with 3D printing, the possibilities are endless. Cheers, Wayne.
Same memories. been looking for this for years. When it dropped, I couldn't believe it was real. Purchased immediately, funny you should mention riding bikes after, I was inspired to get the scale Schwinn Yellow Crate. All this visual nostalgia makes me feel like I'm 10 again.

This kit was a HUGE part of my childhood modeling days growing up. When I caught wind a while back that this kit might be coming back out I thought it would be perfect to add to my "Childhood Builds" series. So yea, I'm really excited about it David!!!!! 🙂👍😉

I never saw any of these kits before, but I was older in 1971 and had quit model building by that time (actually in early 71 I had just left for Navy basic training). I'm going to have to get this kit it looks awesome.
I did not know about this re-release. I built that in the late 80’s - early 90’s it was the first kit I ever built with tubing. Never new about the Ghost Rider version - but do remember the Dragon Fire. Such good memories but I do remember that front fork being really fragile. Ended up using the back tires on a 1:16 scale Shelby Cobra. Grew up in a small town so I totally bought models at K-Mart!
Hey Tim! Yes I bought a few kits at Kmart. But most of mine I bought at the original or predecessor to Kmart, Kresge's five and dime. It was in a little mall complex about 5 miles from my home in Crest Hill,Il. I ride my bike up and like you spend my allowance, about 3 was worth for a kit and paint. I bought my Evil Iron kit from a Kmart in New Albany in the late 70s for I think $4.00. I never built it and it ended up stashed away in my parents basement. At 52 I started building models again during covid but couldn't get home to retrieve my original kit. I did find one on Bay for $100, unwrapped but all there and it even has a contest postcard inside. I was getting ready to build it but felt a tad guilty it was in such pristine condition. I made it home this summer and retrieved mine from my dad's barn but the box had gotten crushed at some point. I have to admit I am gonna grab a new one and build it.

Never got that one but I got a many of model from K-Mart back in the 60 when they were $1.50 ro 2,00 a kit, They were the good old days,cut yards just to go buy a model at $.50 a yard. Thanks for sharing.Donnie
It's about time they rereleased that kit, gotta get my hands on one of those, now if they would re-release the Dragon Fire trike that would be great to see and have again to !

You and me both Pete, I figured you would like the Trike. 🙂 I've been super busy and just got your envelope mailed out. ✉ The yellow I put on the 55 is Tamiya Pearl Yellow (TS-97) straight onto the white plastic. 💛 It's a unique/pretty color.

I remember both I had the evil iron as a kid and recently bought two more and also bought the Dragonfire And the ghost rider trike I plan on building them as a set and displaying them as such.
Originally molded in red , black and chrome. I still have a handful of parts…I have one can of the testors ruby red metal flake paint. I’m ready to start it. Now they have to release dragonfire that goes with it. I built that kit 3 times… and lost it three times…last time it became just parts when I went off to school
Good review. I wanted to see this video before buying it. Just wanted to make sure it is worth the money. And it is. K-mart was the place to go for Model kits and Halloween suits and stuff...
That would look killer with kind of industrial/steampunk/MadMax theme/vibe with either black chrome or copper/brass vs. straight chrome and body parts done with rivets iron color body... stuff like that. Maybe even some woodgrain accents.
Oh heck yes it would!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, you almost have me thinking about buying a second one and going with a MadMax look. I enjoy building MadMax cars/trucks but it never crossed my mind to do it to this Trike. Hmmmmmmmmm
Yes, I have some kits with Kmart stickers on them that I had bought for 295 to 495 and I buy a lot of my stuff from mega hobby and I have pre-ordered mine so I presume it should be coming anytime
Just got mine today, but what I REALLY miss is that certain smell, especially the Monogram kits had when ya opened them up and was probably from the tires and the petroleum based formula of that ERA, but I do miss that smell....and Xerox copier paper....lol
My brother my name is Jeff I'm 64 years old I live in Jersey and yes I remember he'll iron trike went to Kmart pick mine up built it my mother was dusting one day God rest her soul and I came home from school and it was all broken when she dusted she knocked it off the dresser so yes I will be buying one
Never heard of this.... but a good chance i can get hold of due to it been Revell and my local Model supplier into Trikes and drag racing.... I have a good few large scale trikes 1/8 and the MPC re 1:24 release that set of 6..... no need for me to ask it will be on order.
@@THROTTLEPOWER Tim I built the Dragonfire kit when I was a kid. Got one year for christmas from my dad and they are both long gone now. I'd love to build it again as a tribute to my dad. He's been gone 28 years now.

@@bmck-8400 Man, you did a GREAT job on the Trike!! I'm building mine Box Stock too (thought about putting a few lights in it but not sure). I'm with you, will probably pick up another one for a future build. 90% sure the Dragonfire will be back out, a lot depends on how well this kit goes.
