I have that tow truck in my collection. I bought it from a hobby shop years ago ( the shop is no-longer in business) but it is still sealed. I don't want to tear off the plastic wrapper but after seeing your video, I hope it has all the parts. Thanks for the video!
Sorry to hear abou your issues. I finally bought one of these kits from a guy in England. The two listed on the English EBay were over $100 dollars less than that I could find in the US and Canada, including shipping. I paid $175 USD total where in the US they have been going for around $275 to $300, not including shipping. My kit was from the early 90s. It was sealed and came with two sets of instructions, two complete decal sheets, and an extra sprue with the gray frame parts. So it appears that Revell at the time had a quality control issue. Nice to have more decals in case I destroy one and some of them I can add to the Revell Kenworth Wrecker I have. I saw on eBay a decal sheet going for $50!
Hi, I am sorry to hear about the problems with models like that! I also feel that shopping on ebay is a rather dicey way of shopping, you never know what you will get for your money.
Great video! Actually, this can happen with any kit. This just happened to involve the one you bought and is not reflective of all the same kits. However, there are some kits which have an actual production flaw, so all of those would be affected even with all the parts. I also had a 1970s issue White Road Boss from AMT which had half of the hood missing. You could see the styrene had not filled the mold all the way when it was injected. You would think this would be caught by AMT. Oh well!
try using the metal c-channels that is a lot stronger. i had this kit back in 83'-84' and all the pieces was there including the 2 cars. at one time i had over 400 kits from 77'-85' then i left for the navy and when i came back i lost everything
Shouldn't the place you bought it from give you a complete replacement kit ? In the UK , we have a Sale of Goods Act, where the seller has to make good.
That's really bad busniess on there part, that's why they went out because of treating people like that bro. Sorry about yur luck but u made it happen on yur part!!! Thanks for sharing buddy
That kit never came with cellophane on the box. The box cover was held to the bottom with four round stickers. One on each side. I’m building it right now (7/20/20). I have several and every box has the round stickers. That Ebay seller scammed you! He removed those parts trees and resealed the box!
well I cannot say that I usually go to Revelle for my Tractors, I know that AMT usually sucks for it's cars and pickups, but they usually pick up with the heavy trucks, a situation I havn't had with Revelle or Monogram, which angers me, the main problem I have had with Revelle or Monogram for the heavy trucks is the lack of tire detail, I hate it
I am looking for a car hauler as we speak. I have the tractor and am doing a "Trick My Truck" style build off of the TV show. If you might like to sell the hauler, let me know....Thanks Jae
