I really enjoyed this build. I like your simple straightforward style, wry modeling humor and no stupid blaring music thank goodness! I would never have considered building a 1/32 HE-111, especially not one by Revell, but you’ve inspired me - of course now the kit doesn’t seem to be available. Looking forward to watching more of your content.
Greg I have been watching your builds for some time mate and I must say that you have become 1 of my favourites. Your build subjects are always spot on and I love the way you make them appear basic but are in fact extremely comprehensive and invaluable to fellow modellers. Love your work, keep it up
Best part of your vids are the wry self deprecating comments. The kind of things I say under my breath to myself on every project. Currently doing Revell's 1/32 Hurricane IIb. It's full of head scratching WTFs also. Anyway the Heinkel turned out great. No varnish coats. Hmmmm
You have some great skills as a professional model maker I have to say. I do like the Heinkel 111, not because I like war, but rather that it was either one of these or a Dornier 17 that bombed my grannies house in North Sheilds, luckily, it was only an incendiary bomb that didn't go off. Well during that raid, the whole family got down to the air raid shelter in the back garden, then realised they were one kid short, it was my dad! They found him still in the house playing with his toy cars behind the settee, oblivious to what had just happened! Just a little bit of history I thought I might add 🙂
My dad was finishing this kit when he died. It was detailed and fitted out with full crew. He was making it for my son who spent many hours with him at the RAF museum’s Battle of Britain exhibition, but it never arrived as the movers stole/lost/destroyed it kindly which broke my young sons heart ….. wankers. Still, nice to see one beautifully finished.
Very impressive. One of the things I really enjoy about your videos, is the way you think aloud, thinking through a problem. By the way, you are spot on, Revell instructions are a "visual salad"
A fantastic result as ever Greg. And refreshing to watch someone build a Revell kit without continually slating them. Proper model making - you work with what you’ve got and get over the issues with skill and judgement rather than moaning. I also gravitate to the larger models - not sure why.
Have plasticard will travel! Great big thumbs up to both parts Greg and a brilliant naration again. But ain't that camouflage masking a pain. Brilliant job Greg as usual, gives me heart to take on my ICM 1/48 H-3 having almost become demented tackling their 1/48 Do 17Z-2 for my Battle of Britain series. Thank you sir.
Always look forward to your builds Greg and wow another fantastic model. I have a 87 and a 110 in 1/32 in the stash, placing them after is the problem but maybe I should hang them from the ceiling above the wife ! 😂
For the future, Microscale makes a product called Micro Krystal Klear which is for gluing canopies and windshields without any hazing of melting. Im looking at a bottle now, for a product number but only see MI-9. It can also be used to make the glass for windows 1/4 inch wide or smaller.

Great build Greg. Really fascinating work. I like how you also show the problems with the construction. I think that they really meet all of us often and it is solving these very unpleasant situations that makes us better modellers. I have a Ju-88 model in the same scale from Revell in my closet and I think it will also be a very challenging and impressive build. Greetings, Aleš 🙂👍
Thank you Aleš. I have the He 219 to build at some point but it's the camo that's scaring me from building it 😎

@@GregsModels I also have a He-219 in my closet. You are right, German camouflages are really very demanding. But I think there's nothing you can't handle Greg 😉
Lovely work with the stencils and a truly impressive model - watched both parts and b*ggered up my Saturday schedule (again) - wouldn't have it any other way lol - thanks again for the vid.
Another great build ! I really do like the attitude you have when building a kit. All too many turn their builds into a major project where you just wing it at times which I think is very funny. This is the part about modeling that seems to be missing from the builds you see on U Tube, all too perfect in their execution on how to build a model kit the "right way". As for the size issue, sometimes bigger is better especially if you are an old timer with poor eye sight as myself ( 68 ). It's a fine looking He-111 even for a Revell kit ! I thought the ejector pin marks were port holes at first ! Keep on building mate, I'll be watching with my cup of tea. Cheers.
Another great build greg your eye for detail just makes a model Pop with out going overboard weathering really brings them to life always great to watch your work that one deserves a museum home for people to see for sure thankyou for sharing your builds cheers jon
Fantastic as always Greg, great double bill build and got my mojo back on track after watching , love that interior colour you mixed, looks so realistic , thanks for continuing to post your builds 👍👍👌
That's a great build. I was going to by this kit some time back but ended up making the 1/48 ICM. I just wasn't confident about the quality and engineering of the Revell kit. Having seen your video I think the kit looks ok to build so may go back to it. When painting the camo on my model I did the opposite of you and ended up with the greens being too similar so had to re-mask the whole thing to lighten the colour!!
Once again another great build and subject matter, have to say I really look forward the videos, and I am amazed you can put out content like this, bearing in mind all the house move etc. will eagerly await the next subject 👍👍
I really enjoyed the build, yes! Both for the exact model (I will build the same, likely in the autumn) and for the tips, tricks and thoughts you shared. You tell about your mistakes, what is hard, "oops, I broke that part" and "I can live with that". :D At the moment I am struggling (and having fun) with building four Spits that will hang in the ceiling. Also Revell, 1/32. I must say that Revell has improved a lot since I last built something from them - some 35 years ago... still some problems, the instructions says nothing about how to build them with the weels up, so I had to improvise. I found the wet sanding interesting. Just tried out steel wool (will continue with that) and it gives that shine of underlaying metal. Thank you for posting this! Happy crafting!
Fab reference for my build - I plan to stat mine in a few months (got the 1/32 Mig23 and 1/24 Spitfire on the go atm) - got Reskit wheels, Eduard masks and KisWorld 3d.. and decals for Slovak Air Force ones for something different.. I agree on the weathering, I tend to go over the top, and regret it - I will take your queue to keep it min, it looks smashing.
Well, I know you said you are "cheap as chips" but, I would honestly consider investing in metal landing gear, especially for kits that size. They DO pay for themselves and, especially over time. Plastic tends to bend and eventually warp or snap, aside from the build stage.
Wow!! Once again amazing work! Looks fantastic! Thankyou for taking the time and effort to make and share this video. Very inspiring. Can't wait for the next one. Take care.
Awesome kit, perfect result, especially Your scratch and Quinta Decals. Looks very nice. I never build He 111 in my life, so I must do this - when I was about 8-9 years old, I learned from drawings of this plane, that something like versions of planes exists, that was very exciting to see differences between He-111E and, for example He-111P. ;) So, thanks for that build, memories comes back. ;) All the best for You! ;)
Good build despite the problems encountered. I've learned a lot from watching your vids along with other modelers who's channels I have subscribed to, each has his own way of tackling problems I wouldn't' consider doing it that way. If you are interested I watched a preview of HK Models 1/32 scale A-20G Havoc and I'd be interested seeing what you would do with this kit. Keep up the good work.
One of these brutes buzzed my RC flying club field back in the 90s. Just outside Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada of all places. Landed at the airport and sold T-shirts. I still have one. Crashed and burned years later, killing the crew. Sad.
Man you've cranked out quite a few builds while I've been dragging along with this behemoth of a kit the 1/48 DKM U-boat. I miss modelling hahaha one day I tell you I shall finish this dam boat! (I hope????)
amazing !!! Greg you done a stunner there lad !! i've got the 1/32 Ju 88 and its been on the go for at least 3yrs , and the fit is terrible and a lot of things i've picked up since starting it i could have done better , but it is what it is , its just starting the paint job !!!! its huge just like your Heinkel , its very impressive though and like yourself i love big kits , its just the thought of the paint just i don't want to make a complete arse of it !!!! ....take care Shaun.
Another great build mate...had this kit many years ago but reluctantly sold it on...i did build the 1/32 ju88 and the size of the build put me off building the he111.i do like the 3d stencils makes the cickpit pop...on the subject of stencils did you decide to leave some of the kits off?.
I'm converting one of these kits to a CASA 2.111 from the BoB movie using the Heritage Aviation conversion. Sadly the Merlins are the wrong shape and the exhausts sit too low, so it's taking me some time to correct them. 3 years + so far as I have to be in the mood and it's been relegated to the bottom of a very large pile of other 1/32 kits. I think I'll cheat, too, when it comes to the weathering. The original aircraft being freshly painted for the movie , so just the basic exhaust staining etc and not much in the way of weathering. The engines are also solid pieces of heavy resin, with copious amounts of filler added and sanded away to get a more accurate shape - so the undercarriage may not be fitted due to the weight.
This is probably my favourite build of yours so far. We’ll done again Greg, I have a feeling your next build (or maybe one after) might have a certain battle in common with the Heinkel…
Hi Greg, love your builds and admire your patience which I’m so lacking in. As you like big kits any chance of you taking on the Tamiya 12036 1/12 six wheel Tyrell P34 F1 car? I’m building that at the moment and finding it quite a challenge. I’ve only found one build on RU-vid and that’s from Japan and I’ve given up on it, I’ll screw it up on my own thank you! Best, TonyS
Yes the landing gear that was for me also a problem But there are a lot of mistakes in the instructions But never the less, what i said before it's still a great kit
Amazing work but that must be a nightmare to store. I also tend to find big aircraft harder to build. They can be hard to manipulate, especially if you have a limited work space.
Formidable Greg! Have you any experience with removable cover film decals? Judging from your masking, and decal application techniques you wouldn't need them.
Sometimes you can get a fine white bleed appearing under the top black coat, around the edge. Which can be very noticeable. Whereas adding the black first, will eliminate this.
First time I have watched one of your videos. Interesting but I noticed that you don't appear to remove the paint from plastic parts before gluing. How are you getting parts to properly stick paint to paint?
