Ahahaha. I love how they finish packing him in a crate, then suddenly: "Travel arrangements for this program provided by United Airlines."

This is the best IGaS I have ever watched. Live TV was so much fun back then, and it was neither vulgar nor crass like so much of the garbage that passes as entertainment on TV today.

WOW what got me the most was Henry's "spats"!

I wonder if the relief fund for Hungary was when they had anti-Soviet riots, which were brutally put down.

That was really fun to watch. Got to see how people had such a good sense of humor. Loved seeing the street and cars back then. Class act. My father played a lot of Count Basie. He loved jazz.

This show was made the year my brother was born. I notice they were raising money for “Hungarian emergency relief.” It was also the year of the failed Hungarian uprising against Soviet domination.

yes it's wild to think of! A lot of them had long careers. And they were such vibrant people, some of them pictured at the "peak" of their lives here in this episode. These episodes are so funny and lively and it suddenly feels shocking to remember that this was 70 years ago and that now everyone seen here has passed away.
