And it is not like he is swiftly moving his weapon to block the attacks. It would make more sense for Yang to aim for literally anywhere else. I know that in irl fight coreography one of the participants sometimes makes a move to block an attack the other party has yet to perform. I can give it a pass there due to the speed the performers are doing their moves. Weird that basically the same happened in an animated show.
