This is the most beautiful reverse decoupage I have seen. I absolutely loved watching you create this. I would love to try it on something other than a plate. So many layers!
Thank you! I purchased the designs from Etsy, so I can’t copy them as I don’t own them. You can purchase them, resize them in a program like Word or Paint and then cut the circles by hand. The link should be in the description box below the video.
Simply beautiful! Classy and classic. So well thought-out. (And, the background music 🎶... perfect.) Thank you for this wonderful decoupage experience~ 🥰
Your plates are stunningly beautiful! Thank you for sharing your informative and inspirational video! I subscribed to your channel and would love to see more of your creations.
Goodness me I am so in love with this.I can't believe how you did it. We use Polyvine in the UK I have used it for 15years and their products never let me down.
I really like the results! I've watched alot of videos with Decoupage on plates but this one is my favourite! They are really wonderful I will do it the same way! Greetings and thank you for sharing your wonderful idea! 👍🖐
Thank you! I use Epidemic Sound, too, but I also have a subscription to Storyblocks which is where much of the Christmas music was from. They used to be audioblocks, but have since combined into a broader base in Storyblocks where you can also get stock video. I also have used Karaoki.com for music which seems to pass muster with youtube. Sometimes it’s a shared royalty, but rarely does it get a non-monetization. My argument has been that I purchased the music for my use.
I can't use Anything but a Water-based Poly. GOOD NEWS.... I have found a Water Based Poly you can use. NO SMELL. I "Flip" RVs and Travel Trailers... and I use a WATER-BASED Polyurethane for OUTSIDE FRONT DOORS... I also use this on FLOORS!!! and make Coasters... and have never had a problem... Home Depot ... (you can only buy this by the Gal) It is called: Varathane Ultimate Spar Urethane Water Based Exterior Crystal Clear Gloss It has GREEN Label...
Thank you so much! For the chargers I first sprayed the top sides only with white chalk paint to give it tooth. Next I applied Retique It Wood paint in a liner direction. On the second coat of the product, I then used a wood graining tool to create linear grain. This product consists of wood pulp and allows you to stain it as you would real wood. It wasn’t quite dark enough for me after staining, so I then applied a watered down application of the acrylic real brown in a linear direction and wiped back. To finish, I used my finger on the bump edges and applied the same bronze guilding wax that I had used on the rims of the glass plates. The finish was then protected, again, with one coat of Polyvine dead flat followed by two coats of Dixie Belle satin sealer because I wanted a slight sheen.
merci beaucoup pour votre réponse, je me suis commander un service d’assiette transparente, je vais me faire une superbe table!!!!! merci, merci @@designsbyJ
I guess copying my techniques from my video should be a compliment, but you should at least give me credit as to where you got the idea for this video.
Did you read the description box? That was exactly my point with The Magnolia Housewife. She should have listed us both as I listed Dainty Gifts and YOU!
This is the most thorough and succinct video. I think she is very clear and direct. She also moves quickly enough to keep interest and she does not repeat herself like many do in videos. I really enjoyed this video and I am now inspired to do the same. Thank you for taking the time to teach us your techniques.
Love your work. I have a question though - you mentioned that you sealed the crackle finish with a solvent based sealant but then used acrylic paints and water based glues over it. The two aren’t compatible- how did you solve this?
The final coats of paint were chalk paint which bonds. You can use paints only for glass that you bake in the oven which I did do on the next year on the Beatrix Potter design dessert plates.
You use so many different products, how do you know which ones to use? You are obviously an artist, I'm guessing lots of practice and instruction. As a avid DIYER, I don't have this many products in my arsenal. What type of glue do you use for your delicate molds? Thanks, wonderful job!
Thank you! I suppose many, many years of crafting would be the best answer to your question. I also owned a decorative finishing business for a number of years where I taught classes, sold products, and my crew and I also did contract work in homes. The glue I like to use for clay castings is TITEBOND Quick and Thick which I get at Lowe’s.
These plates are absolutely stunning! I'm into vintage inspired holiday decor, so these are perfect for me!😉 I'm trying to learn which colors to use when blending so my work looks better & more natural, so I appreciate u explaining your process. A lot of people already have their colors mixed & that doesn't help me much. So glad I found your channel. I'm really enjoying it! 💗
The crackle application is a two component system by Pentart. You brush on step 1, which is a milky color. Once it dries clear, then you brush on step 2. The products are listed in the description box below the video, but this particular crackle is called Pentart Two Step Fine Line Crackle. Hope that is what you were asking. 🤔
I woke up asking God to bring me a woman of God doing something very creative and fun - and you showed up on my RU-vid Feed!! Thank you, so very beautiful. Just what I was looking for.
Wow ce travail est magnifique felicitation madame j'aime beaucoup ça ressemble à de la vieille vaisselle de grand maman merci de partager votre savoir-faire c'était génial ❤👍👍👍🐇😍👌🐰
Amazing. Many steps but worth every one of them. The end result is just gorgeous. You have captured the blend of vintage Springtime with a newer modern look.Huge Kudos to you
Thank you. I have been trying figure out a way to update my coffee and end tables with those glass inlays. This will perfect done on the underside of the glass. All the resources you shared will help save me a load of mistakes.
Lady you should be so proud of yourself. What you just did spoke to my heart completely. I haven't fallen in love with a project so much as this one. I can't wait to make this. Thank you for being this clever and sharing it with us, but you are also teaching us to do it. Bless you. I needed this.
Just found your channel and I’m so glad I did. These plates are STUNNING. I’ve seen a lot of reverse decoupage on plates but not with all the techniques you used. Not difficult techniques but using items that crafters usually have but do not use when they do reverse decoupage on plates. It’s those extra steps that’s setting your work out. I’m definitely a subscriber. So happy 😃 I found your channel.
I clicked on this because of the bunny. It reminds me a bit of Beatrix Potter's work. You did such an amazing job or describing and demonstrating your techniques and explained why.
I watched another vid by a woman who did something similar to your . Her vid was 4 yrs old. I have to say your technique is so much better. I love the extra detail work you put into each one. I wish I had 1\4 of your talent. I will be looking at mire of your vids to learn. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
Your plates are stunningly beautiful! Thank you for sharing your very instructional and inspirational video! I subscribed to your channel and would love to see more videos!
All of the paint work was done on the back of the plate. Even when painting the “rim”, it was still on the back edge and not the front. They do make paints for glass that can be baked in the oven for durability.
Love, love, LOVE!!! You put so much thought and detail into each piece you do. I enjoy your videos immensely! I love Dainty Gifts, too. I'll have to check out Debbie Cole. Thank you for another lovely tutorial, Janet!!
I’m not sure what you mean by lacy paper. 🤔 If you will click the down arrow under the video, the products used, and in some cases links given, are listed. Thank you! 🤗
If you’re talking about Iron Orchid Designs Alphabellies stamp, I just typed it in the search bar and thepurplepaintedlady.com has one as well as an Etsy store. I found the bitumen from an overseas store on Etsy, but Stamperia makes a dark brown antiquing paste that can be purchased in the states.
