We are good for at least 1 gold medalist (counting both styles) per Olympics. Its no "Team Russia" by any means but I admire and respect the hell outa out nations best wrestlers.
I'm Canadian, we do freestyle here, no folk style, but as my coach was teaching me this move today because i asked him to, he showed me that if they wrap you around the ankle, hook your legs and jump to the other side. I have this move down pretty good now, though i though it was called a reverse body lift, or Karelin, named after famous wrestler Alexander Karelin, best greco-roman wrestler of all time.
true. however if you stick really tight to his body it wont matter. your opponent attacking your feet during this wont matter unless you let the technique go or they work loose from your lock. the real key here is TIGHTNESS! cant lose it.
@hacksign23 nope. its clasping in folk style. meaning you cannot grab you opponent around the waist touching your own hands/arms while they are on the ground except if they are in a pinning combination. however, in freestlye or greco-roman wrestling (international styles) you can "clasp",its demo'd in this video.
@jscioli83 Is it legal in Greco to place your opponent or "shelve" him on your thigh like you show in this maneuver? ( I never even tried this move back when I wrestled Greco, I was happy just to get a basic gut wrench!!)
