Yes that’s what I do with my braids. Once they start looking a mess. The bun is what will actually buy you two extra weeks becaus no one can see what’s going on except the perimeter.
Exactly! I have a 10 year old daughter and 3 boys and a husband and unfortunately my daughter's hair will never be absolutely prefect every day, so I found this to be a helpful little trick, especially since its temporary
Do not do this to you childs head at all you are leaving the root tangled which is causing damage when you take the actual braid out there will be a big knot close to the root this is a lazy method
MsPookie2 The elastic bands have already popped out. We’re good her hair won’t be damaged. Only needed this style for a day. Thanks for your concern tho.❤️
All these negative comments though😂😂 My Mama did this to my hair when I was a little girl and I'm almost 30! So this lil "trick" been around! It's just to get an extra wear out of it for a day or two. Y'all just reaching! If you don't like it don't try it and move on! #LoveAndLight 😘
that's why mothers are always talk about our daughters hair won't grow. Stretching your babies hair to "make" it go into Rubber bands and the ones with colored balls are the worst.
@@sincerelykimberlyb9724 how is it abuse? shes stated multiple times that an event came up and redoing her childs hair completely wasn't going to be an option cause she's pressed for time. being pressed for time is something ALL working moms can relate to. She's thinking out the box and making something WORK for their situation. She put the effort into making her child look presentable when she couldve sent her out the house as is. Child abuse isn't present nor should it be thrown around lightly.
Yamarri Mikeal because how long before now washer hair looking this way and how long would it have looked this way had said event not come up. She sprayed water and put additional product in dirty hair and took he on her way to the public what parts of this is ok??? Tell it to CPS
This mother is moisturizing and conditioning her daughter hair, making it easy for them. She already said that her daughter doesn’t like her hair to be combed so she figured out a way to do her daughter hair in a way that makes them both be at peace. Great job mom! Btw this little girl hair is very thick so I understand her not wanting her hair comb.
My son doesn’t like getting his hair combed either. He likes having his hair a lil longer though, so I have to think of ways to style it so we don’t have to comb his hair and hurt him
Nope..take it out an wash her hair an give her ponytail if you got something to do tomorrow...the braids don't even look neat to begin with..I'm sorry ..my opinion
All these folks saying “yOu ShOuLd’Ve jUsT ReDiD hEr HaIr” should come offer their free evening services, since obviously they clearly have the time to do their child’s hair everyday, all the time. I’m not even a parent & I understand life happens sometimes. You did what had to be done for a good temporary touch up.
Why try sensationalize the situation about everyday the mother openly states "ive been neglecting her hair" and those braid aint no one week so its not a stretch that they are old tf? 😂 Word of advise of thousands of people saying the same shit regardless the tone its called criticism All that extra product you put ontop of the weight of the braids ontop of all that all and then to add elastic onto the already (neglected) hair is a receipt for disaster and you wouldn't come out your house like this we saw your hair at the end of the video so why is it okay to do your child this way? It really is laziness
@@enigmastewart9712 I'm glad someone said it. It looks like she hadn't done anything to that baby girl head in months and people in the comments saying some moms struggle or don't have time. I'm not even grown and ill tell you this much i would never let a child not even my siblings go out somewhere WITH ME looking like that.
If you have daughters you would k ow they can take a 2 week style and make it look like its been up FOREVER especially when they are young. Shit happens😒 Good job on the babys hair.
If I had a daughter I would do the same thing , where u messed up sis by saying you neglected her hair that's what brought the trolls out keywords trigger them ,and I'm sure when you said neglected you didn't mean you didn't touch it in a year ....but great video and great ideal
Girl please people always got something to say. My daughter got a whole quarantine fro under her braids right now and I'm bout to do this tomorrow night! Tuh 😌
I'm sorry, this is lazy. We gotta stop saying "We don't have time" because we make time for what we want to make time for. When you go to work im sure you make time to do your hair. If you were told " I'll give you a million dollars if you can give your daughter a new style in a hour" you would make time.
I do this to my hair for a few days before I take them down and it does nothing to my hair... the people commenting about what your doing or how her hair is too long really should mind their on business because at the end of the day ... you have to do with you have to do with your child... good job 😊
Lorraine Woods excuse me ma’am learn how to spell before you come for me... I’m not speaking for everyone I’m speaking from MY experience so you can mind your business... exactly what I was tryna say in my post MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS 🙄🙄💆♀️💆♀️ I’m done
They have no life... Ppl act like they ain't never woke up and relized they looked ugly after watching they may want ask her for a phone #... #HairPolice
So what I don't understand is why folks are taking time out to speak ill of her video. Great job. A quick fix. It works. I'll try this for my kid. Most definitely will. I'm proud of you Dom
She is such a Beautiful child, with an incredible smile. Ladies keep telling our Daughters how special and beautiful they are. So important. Thank u for sharing?
I didn't know how to say it without sounding rude🤷🏾. Maybe she just needs more practice at braiding. Or use some hair that matches Babygirl's natural hair. Spring twist hair would be perfect for her
It's RU-vid. And I said no for me. Not for you! I love kids and would redo the whole head if her momma asked me to lol. Calm down. People don't like my hair. Have a good day on purpose! 💜😘
HOYAWNCÉ the Overrated Demon she’s not being rude. She stated her opinion, but also acknowledged the fact that not everyone will have the same opinion and that that’s okay
@@reenae9346 why because im commanding her for being a good mother and that she would do a good job on her child's hair and not rubber band it over whats wrong with u did u not read my comment
Putting and headband around her hair and putting it in a pony tail would have been a better option to stretch it out 1 more day. I can tell you're a caring mom but this was just kinda unnecessary
The people commenting on the health of her daughter's hair need to go watch the follow up video...this is a mom that knows her daughter's hair and what works for it...it may not be for everyone but it's an option for some...
Mariam Jacobs yess and Amen. People have lives and it looked neat in the end. In my opinion leaving the hair alone till that point of new growth is great but I woulntnt have put any product unless I was going to take it down. But good job mom at least you done it and didn't take the risk of someone else causing damage or worse.
She CLEARLY explained this is NOT recommended long-term, she warned the rubber bands can cause breakage that's why she thoroughly moisturized. This is an "in a crunch" quick TEMPORARY fix it's even in the description box in case you didn't hear it lol. I don't get these comments 🤦🏾♀️
Girl where were you when my now 20 year old daughter was in 1st grade? I was working full time and working on my masters degree full time and I was looking at some of her old pics 😳 Her hair was a mess and filled with new growth from cornrows and beads. She’s a sophomore in college now and she will be home next weekend for me to braid her hair lol 😂
Nice idea!!! I'm commend you on being on a single and clearly a hard working mom....(some people don't realize how hard it is being one..) you are doing what works for you and your child and passing along the idea for someone else that will definitely be able to use it.... great job!
Shut up! She may had to be somewhere quick and didn't have time. People always talking. Every body hair is different. And who said she was leaving it up got a month???
She placed the video on a PUBLIC MEDIA, I’m sure she EXPECTED people to TALK. If you love it, great, but why do you think you have the right to tell others to shut up 🤷🏿♀️. It took her so long to to do what she did, she could have washed the child’s hair, blown it out a little, put it up in a cute high bun (that would look so polished).
These people need to leave her alone. This video actually helped me as my kids are stuck in the house and ended up having a last minute appointment and have to take her with me and does want her to look a mess either. Life saver. Thanks hun. Ignore these so called perfect people who don't understand how difficult juggling everything especially with this homeschooling system going on.
All these negative comments y'all really need to get off social media and figure out why you woke up wanting to bash go love yourself or something you know there's this trick where when you look in the mirror everyday and tell yourself your beautiful you'll start to love yourself more and here's another fact it wouldn't kill you anymore to give a compliment now go practice negative ones 😒💯
Kedora Lacey oooooo can't stand the true want to attack sad need to know how to grow a backbone not every one will like or agreed with u but what can I say 😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😖😖😖😖😖😖😖😖😖
ketrina james and that’s fine ❤️ no one expects anyone to agree with anyone.... but you all need to learn the difference in having an opinion and just being rude toward someone. Yes, give constructive criticism but don’t be hateful and bash anyone about it 👌🏾there’s no need for that
And when them 2 weeks up she going to retouch it again ! You made time to do that ! You could have made more time to do it correctly. 🤦🏾♀️💯🤷🏾♀️ #LOOKSLIKEYOUBEENRETOUCHINGFORAWHILE! #NOMORERETOUCHINGFORU #DOTHATBABYHAIR
Great job I have been doing this with regular box braids. I have 3 girls so am not an salon plus too much manipulation is not good. This works for a few days before wash day.
Do you know what would have been easy, doing 1 row per day. Use a spray bottle (spray the hair after you remove each, spray till its very damp, towel dry abit and comb and apply the leave in conditioner and hair oil and reinstall. Its like 15 to 20 mintues per line.)
GHchic That’s how I do all my braids when I want them to last longer. I usually do a few a day. My hair stay looking freshly done for weeks and people keep asking me my secret. Just redo them in your spare time.
@@lakiakeely5699 Well if it was only for a day she could have saved some time and left it the way it was. Using rubber bands on new growth that way just causes tangles.
@@lakiakeely5699 Who the hell said I know everything? All I know is what I have personally experienced. I used to use this method too but like I said it caused tangles. Don't you think you are taking this a little too seriously? People are allowed to disagree with this method. It's not like I'm calling her a bad mother for trying to fix her child's hair. I can understand that people are busy. So calm down.
@@lakiakeely5699 Then I guess you and others will learn on your own. Some people don't seem to want helpful advice, they tend to see it as a personal attack.
All the negatives comments sickens me. All the judges and no offers to do her hair. It’s easy to bash from a keyboard. All that have committed is guilty of neglect to some point or y’all wouldn’t have selected the video. QUEEN LOVE THE IDEA KEEP POSTING.
That look crazy! U made a video so of course your gonna get good and bad feedback. I can't stand to see little girls with bad looking heads and that looks bad and ghetto..dam u know those braids need to come out! The time it took to do all that u could've took those few braids out, washed it and put in 2 ponytails. That would've been so much more presentable
Yall actin like she kept it in for a whole week or another month. Nothin is wrong with doing this for another day or 2. This is wat ppl used to do back then when they were busy. Who cares if you are not going to do it. Just keep scrollin
Ok if its unacceptable then why you still on her channel she said she didn't have time to do anything cause they were going somewhere tomorrow and if it's such a problem then you do the baby's hair dang it's only a one day thing
And you have no idea how fast that baby's hair grow. My mother had to do my hair every other week or faster because that is what my hair would look like a week after having it freshly braided.
All these negative comments is insane!🙄 love this method! Did my own hair like this last night and I love it. Such a life saver being it hasn’t been a full month of me having my own braids in. Obviously you know ur child’s hair like it’s ur child not theirs smh! Great video! Keep doing wat u doing n ignore the negativity!💋
Ms. Martin it’s not being neglected, she stated in the comments that she just needed an extra day bc she didn’t have time to rebraid it all. She only did this to give it an extra day or two before she took it all done
@@Soapmink everybody is fully aware of what she stated she was doing and the fact that she needed an extra day. It doesnt take away from what we're all looking at. Like I said in my post. These braids have been in way longer then they should have been, and we can all see that by the amount of new growth this little girl has. So thanks for trying to be informative, but I pay attention to everything before I decide to post anything. Have a good day!
Ms. Martin if anything, these were just quick box braids done by the mother herself. At most, these have probably been in for two to three weeks. Not all of it is new growth, most of it is the braid slipping from her real hair from pulling it, putting it up, etc. as someone who braids their own hair, I experience this. It’s mainly from not having enough grip and tension when you start braiding the hair into your real hair
@@Soapmink I've been doing hair 12 yrs. I can see I know exactly what im looking at. 2 or 3 weeks thats a joke. Not to mention the amount of times she spoke herself of neglecting her daughters her. Not on purpose im sure but honey no. 2 or 3 weeks, slipping from being pulled no. Like I said have a good day. Lord ppl find anything to want to go back and forth with somebody about. Its always that one. Smh.....
Ms. Martin I’m just giving my input and putting it what I know. I’m in no way trying to sound hostile. I’m only saying 2 or 3 weeks because I’m taking in account that this sometimes will happen to me when I braid my hair. Go off ig, but have a good day 🤙🏾
She thoroughly explained her reasoning of doing this “method” even gave examples of other reasons why someone would do this and y’all still came wit negative comments and jokes 🤦🏽♀️
Been doing hair for over 20 years, I do my hair and my husband and my 4 boys hair some have dreads some I have to cut , sometimes I just line them up, cut the sides or just wash the ones with dreads in between touch ups , and sometimes I just put mine in a messy bun ... You do what you want! and what you need! ... Great video 💕💕👍🏾
Some of these comments are ignorant af smh. She said it was temporary, this 👑 got a whole RU-vid channel doing hair so I'm sure she keeps her daughters hair on point. Nice quick touch up Queen. Subscribing just cause 💖💖💖😊
This is a great idea and perfect in a pinch. I'll definitely do it for my daughter's 7z hair when I need a little more time or she just can't be bothered with the take down, wash, and rebraid (always an event!) THANK YOU from a new sub!! ❤
I was a divorced working mom with 2 girls that split time with both parents. I def understand doing quick hairstyles to get through a wknd. I love how you did your daughters beautiful hair. Keep sharing ur hair styling tips for others to try
My hair grows out in jumbo braids just like her baby’s in about 3 weeks. Y’all wear weaves, wigs and braids just as long if not longer (months at a time) and don’t do anything to your natural hair sooo...
Interesting. It works for a day or 2, and that's all she needed. I wish I knew about this when I didn't want to take my hair out and redo it just for one day! Hey if it works, it works.
Her mother did the hair, she would have told her if it was heavy. I'm saying it doesn't look heavy at all. She is very comfortable, you can see it on her face.
U probably should just take it down. Wash and condition it. Put it in a quick top puff ball. That doesn't look very neat. And u just keep pack n crap on top of this "done" doo. Take another 20 mins. It would be well spent😬🤗
Nena' Jones That’s the thing, I don’t just wash and condition her hair real quick and throw it in a ponytail. Wash day is a long process for us. That’s why her hair is super healthy. I need time to care for it the right way. Throwing course hair into a ponytail is terrrrible. In my opinion 🤷🏾♀️
Do u not understand that she has 4c hair? There is no just wash and put it in a puff. You have to thoroughly detangle her hair. Even I can’t do that and my hair is mostly 4b. Doing as u suggested is the worst mistake ever made.
sistahghul57 NO WASHING & CONDITIONING THE HAIR IS NEVER BADD. OF U DON'T KNOW,EHAT YOUR DOING, CAUSE EVERYONE IS "NOT" A HAIRDRESSER , JUUST BECAUSE U HAVE A COMB AND BRUSH. THAT WAS LAZY AND TACKY.< PERIOD. THANKS 🤗
Use blue magic and after, take the loose hair in the braid (new growth) and twist, when it starts to feel tight let go because as soon as you let go it’ll feel looser. This is a good way to do it, and if the blue magic isn’t working that well, take a little dab of eco styler and continue the process :)
My child has a lot of hair and moves around a lot, I have to detangle, wash, blow dry, flat iron, then braid. Takes me a long while. Thanks for this quick touch up video.
This is a mess girl. You keep rubberbanding her hair. Why not just do it over. We all know how to be lazy we didnt need ur help for that. Cause this is laziness it doesnt even look good
Super duper I love how classy . your response is to negative comments . you did a get job on your daughters hair . great ideas for folk who don't have time 😊
My daughter's hair is natural and thick like your daughter's. She is very tender headed so I feel your pain. I can't do her hair like I used to when she was younger she is 12 now and kids in middle school are cruel. I have to keep it in cornrows. I prefer cornrows or faux locs. Great video and idea for on the go moms.
Lol!!!! People are really reaching on this, at the end of the day, mom's do a lot. Especially when you have little girls! I was that kid that wanted my hair to look nice, my sister? Didn't care so much. So if my mom did a style I didn't care for, she would say " we have to go with this for 2 or 3 days (I would watch that damn calendar like a hawk) and then I'll fix it for you". Thank GOD my mother knew how to braid and plait and apply beads growing up! Didn't have to waste $$ on a salon. In turn I've turned out to be the same. I pray I don't have girls when my time comes, but this was a quick fix to going somewhere dad. We had every other weekend with my biological. Saturday afternoon OR after church was usually hair day! Every week or 2 weeks. If Mommy couldn't get to us, she would take us to our Great Aunt's Beauty Salon for a wash, deep condition and hot comb/curls--those women knew how to press hair!
You got them big mad sis 😁😁. I have 3 heads to do so this is right up my alley. If I need to stretch one style another day or two I'll be using your technique. Thanks for helping those of us who live in the real world🤗
I see all of the internet trash talkers. I didn't know we had such a perfect world. But I had 5 girls and 2 boys (grown now) and this would have worked for me when short of time. Nice idea.
