How does Italeri's new 1/32 Mirage IIIC stack up? I cracked the box to find out. Read the text/pictures review over at Large Scale Modeller: forum.largescalemodeller.com/t...
this video is so good, for real .. and directly subbed. I share the same love to Italeri work, they always tackle the unusual subjects and I particularly love their decals. I built the 1/48 Tornado 20 years ago and decals still show this new look although i sealed it with a matt coat only couple of years ago.
It is kinda strange, how some are complaining about the 1:32 F-104 from Italeri. YES! The Panel lines are too big. BUT Italeri is not Tamiya. Italeri is a small Company. For my opinion they did a great Job with the 104. They proof they can do good kits. With the Mirage III, they improved the Making of Details. Yeah,... there is a little fitting Problem. But nothing that cant be fixed easy.
I bought this kit a few years ago. It's a really cool to see a 32nd scale mirage that wasn't built by revell and isn't 40-50yrs old. But the fit is absolutely mind bending. There's a lot of flash. There's a huge seem along the spine of the aircraft. The wing roots are, well frustrating to say the least. The cockpit tub sits high. Causing the hud to hit the inside of the windscreen. The front windscreen is to wide. So you'll have to pinch it to make it fit. I don't know if the kit i got was built on a friday. But if your willing to put in the work. You'll end up with a cool looking Mirage IIIc. I'm doing mine in a camouflage IDF scheme
Thank you for these reviews. The fact that you spend your own $ on your review subject gives me faith in your conclusions. Reminds me of Sterephile back in the day.
for me, italeri is the only one, I had many models and when strong wind passed on my room, all my models flew... very well by the way... and when they "landed", basically all of them became pieces as lego toys when fall from the table, only the italeri models still was fine, I noticed that, all models that survived these 14 years of care, are all italeri, that was not a coincidence.
i was skeptic about this kit. thanks for bring it to the light. i might just buy one after this. like you said, italeri is shaky when it comes to quality comparing to hasegawa and tamiya. many thanks.
Do you know anyone that's built the Kenetic 1/48 Swiss Mirage IIIC/RS Kit ? Could you do a review of one. I'm interested in buying the kit. But I would like to have more info on it.
Hmm. I've built most of their Mirage IIIDE, which is pretty similar. It's...ok. Well, except I had a massively short shot aileron which just killed all enthusiasm for the build. doogsmodels.smugmug.com/48Aircraft/148-Boneyard/148-Kinetic-Mirage-IIIDE-Spain/n-z9jK49/
The springboks within the blue castles on the SAAF decal set are the wrong color. They should be gold, not orange. If you are contemplating doing the SAAF scheme, you'll need to get some aftermarket castle from Mavdecals or elsewhere
