what a beautiful truck... un real.. it was only just not too long ago trucks were trucks, and women were women. lol. in all seriousness, there is no point in getting an suv anymore, cause trucks now a days are an all-in-one!
Not a fan of ram at all. Die hard ford guy. However I like this truck and will be going in soon for a test drive. Ram seems like they’ve really stepped up their game recently. We’ll see what I’ll be driving come the new year. Great video.
Man, these new 18 fords suck. 18 f150 platinum, 5.0. In the dealer more than 10 times for driveability issues, jerking, stalling. Looking at dumping this truck to get my wife in a Ram.
All 3 have recalls and problems so best 2 just get what you like so at least you will like whatever truck your having problems with. My last 3 SUV's have been FCA and so far only 2 recalls 1 for the radio which took 10 mins and another took didn't even take 5 mins because it turns out my SUV was not affected, I pulled up they lift the hood and said your all set not affected.
I agree with you. I own a 2017 Silverado. However, I would consider this for a truck as well. I hate the electronics FCA uses in their vehicles. It seems like you are eternally scrolling through menus. The Silverado's menus seem so much easier to navigate through and read. On my wife's 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, you reset the oil life indicator by pressing on the gas pedal!
It's a okay truck compared to the competition. But why must ram continue to use that plastic black front grille atleast paint it Black or even better make it out of a metal. It would be so much better looking if it didn't have a flat plastic look.
They do look nice but too bad that they are soo cheaply built with the lowest quality mechanical components... Ram front ends are brutal and dont last. Cant compare this cheap flashy pos to a chevrolet 😂.
I can't stand all that red... dealer near me offered to replace all the seats, but the red leather door panels would have to stay... and they still want $57k! Sorry boys, DEAL BREAKER!
If you dont need a Rebel to haul a family, get the quad cab. The quad cab is so much better looking and having that 6'4 bed is amazing. I own one in dark grey. Beautiful truck.
It looks like a great truck you didn't say anything about the air suspension lift what size of full tank I don't know if can give up my ford raptor or not they would have to give me a good trade in it's only 2yrs old with 20k miles.
There is also a “tablet” cut out within the rear cup holder that can support an iPad and other tablets. It can hold them upright for rear passengers to watch.
Hii I'm a happy owner of a 2016 Rebel and as soon as I can, buy a 2019 Rebel here in Swiss I'm in. You forget to mention the middle console on the rear seat. Is also new.. But a great Review thank you
It's very disappointing to me that the interior only comes in the black with red trim. I really can't stand the red. It may well be the one thing that keeps me from buying the Rebel.
Frank, I would recommend stopping into your dealer and seeing the interior in person. It's much more toned down in person than it appeared in a few spots in the video.
I love the way the way the Rebel looks, both inside and out, but 55K is just out of my range. I'm very happy with my 2017 F150 Supercab, 2.7L V6 ECOBOOST, W/upgraded STX package. At 37K, it's a lot of truck for the money, and with the turbo charged engine, its a damn rocket.
First let me say I'm a Ford guy thru and thru...and own a 2018 Raptor...BUT I consider the Chevy/Ram trucks to be good trucks for sure. I liked the Rebel styling when it first cam out and think Ram did a great job with the interior...except that rotary shift knob, which says anything except performance.
No I have not...but I'm sure the truck will perform rather nicely...My only real complaint was that dang rotary shift knob..The KNOB doesn't say performance, that all...To be fair all my trucks have had a center console shift levers and that's where I really need them to be as I shift manually all the time off road, and towing and of course on the street if need be... How do you manually shift in a Ram with the knob?
You should aim for 13% off MSRP + Any rebates at the time. This is what we got on our rebel in CA. The rebate at the time of our purchase was $3500. So we got 13% off MSRP minus additional $3500.
Those white strips might actually be protective plastic from shipping. We just got a white one on the lot at the dealer I work at, I'll try to remember to look in the next couple days
I did finally remember to look, and the 3 white rebels we have on the lot do not have the white stripes above the rear window, they're black just like years past
Novice Projects Chevy fell behind on interior this year, because they figured all their previous owners loved the staid design and it’s simple and clean, but I disagree with it. But definitely Chevy for drivetrain, the styling and interior are behind but the Chevy drivetrain is the king, tried and true 5.3 and 6.0 are bulletproof, ford keeps changing drivetrains because they aren’t reliable enough, but they do look beautiful though.
Johnny Bliss tell me why LS motors are considered one of the most sought after and reliable engines for like 20 years going then 😒 saying Chevy transmissions are bad when you’re talking about a dodge is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever read on the internet, my brother has put 4 transmissions in his ram within 70,000 miles LMAOOOO, Chevy hasn’t made a bad transmission since the 90s
Day (3) for the add of our 2019 Ram Rebel. So far,, AWESOME. THIS purchase for me,, is one that continues to grow, as I get to know the truck. Very well Done Ram. No need to Dodge the Competitors, Flying High is this Guy.
I have a Ram Laramie and I love it. Had a 2015 Ram Big Horn prior. My issue is 56,000 no cooled seats, no wireless charging. This truck is priced too high. Nice truck just over priced.
The Laramie has cooled seats, at least as an option. And like stated, pay attention to rebates. As annoying as it can be, it pays to sign up for email newsletters for both your dealer of choice and Ram
I'm glad I came across your channel. I am going to be purchasing a new Cummins in about 2 years. I will be checking out Feeny since I'm not far from Midland either. Hopefully I get treated as well as you!!
Thank you Doug! Ask for Mike and tell him I sent you their way. He should be able to help you out. I believe he's been their for 10+ years and is really relaxed. There's nothing I hate more than high pressure sales. Enjoy your new Cummings when the time comes!
Tyler Allen : I just purchased a 2018 Ford Raptor about a week ago. If you want something that blends in a little more, get the Ram. If you want something that towers over everything around you and makes heads turn when you pull into a valet parking area, get the Raptor. Obviously the Raptor is more expensive too, so there’s that.
I was going to buy the Raptor, until I saw the new 2019 Rebel. When comparing the two, the Rebel won out over the Raptor, plus I spent about $20k less! Interior in the Rebel is by far superior to the dated/cheap looking interior in the Raptor. HP still goes to the Raptor by about 50HP, but Torque goes to the Rebel, especially, if eTorque equipped like mine, an extra 130 ft/lbs at take off and low speed. I didn’t get the air suspension, I prefer the tuned off-road Bilstein that mine has. As far as comments when parking or pulling up to stop lights, the common comment I get is, that’s a beast! The standard 35” tall Goodyear Duratrac All Terrain tires really adds to the beast look and are actually very smooth when doing driving on the highway and in town. The suspension ride on the highway and in the city, for a tuned off-road suspension, is amazingly compliant and pleasant but when taken off-road, it does what it’s designed for. As far as interior comfort, I”m 6’4” and have plenty of legroom and the seats are very comfortable. I driven for over 3 hours without stopping so far, and feel just as good as I did when I started. I could have easily gone another 3 or 4 hours! Interior noise level is amazingly quiet! My Rebel has the active noise quieting system, and really works! This is the most quiet vehicle I’ve ever ridden in. My neighbor has a 2017 Raptor, and that was a factor in my desire to get the Raptor. Fortunately, all the hype about “The All New 2019 Ram”, caused me to take a look at it. All I can say is believe the hype! RAM did their homework on the 2019 1500 series, and the Rebel is worth it. If you’re still not convinced this year, wait until the 2020 Rebel TR with the rumored 565 HP normally aspirated 7.0L (426ci, for you old timers like me) Hemi or the TRX with 707HP super-charged 6.3L (read Hellcat) engine. The TR will probably be comparatively priced to the Raptor. For me, the 2019 Rebel won over the Raptor.
Charles Hoffman : I looked at a Rebel with my brother (he’s a Dodge guy) and honestly wasn’t impressed with its interior compared to my Raptor. But to each their own.
Excellent video. Any idea what fuel economy actually is for the Rebel? I know they have it listed at 17 and 22, but it doesn't sound like that's the case from what I've been seeing online. Not even close in fact. Any insight on this?
It takes a LOT of fan bragging rights and brand recognition away from this truck by removing the "DODGE" nameplate from these RAM trucks. Sure, they're selling well, but that's not BECAUSE of the name change....but rather, IN SPITE of it. People still consider them to be DODGES*....even though the *"DODGE" NAME is no longer there. Several people commenting here STILL refer to it as a DODGE Ram. Might just as well put the name back on !! It was there for almost 100 years. That's not going to change just because some Italian company came in and started making silly name changes !!
Very nice truck. Ram is number one in interior design. My biggest problem with the brand is how they source parts from other countries. I wish they where more USA made. Slide recline seats are sick. Ram box is awesome. Hemi sounds great. Best camera system. Best tow mirrors.Rear suspension is outrageous. I have not herd of the rear end going out recently. Did they do something different with the Dana 60 ?
Beautiful truck. I have owned three generations of Sierra but this may be my next truck. Great idea for ram to make two suspension options for the rebel. I don't like the idea of no automatic 4x4 though. Other rams have it but again the rebel doesn't. Note. You don't have to pay 60 grand to get a center console in gm trucks. My 2014 SLE all terrain (only difference from slt is leather) and my truck brand new back in 14 was 48 grand in Canada.
Pulled the trigger on a New Red and Black, 2019 Ram Rebel 4 weeks ago got it for $16,000 off MSRP.. I owned a Fourth Gen. 2014 Sport which I loved but I love the Rebel more, what a great truck. Great review thanks
I'd like to know the cheapest way to replace/convert a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie (off road version) front with the Rebel style front. I'm mainly interested in the lower spoiler part and area of the Laramie being taken off, so it gets more clearance like the Rebel's does. Also, who's got the cheapest and best add on step for the rear bumper for easier access into the bed? Mopar one from the dealer is too expensive (300+ dollars.) Bestop has one available for both passenger and drivers side at 150 bucks, but not sure yet if it's a sure fit for the 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie crew cab. Anyone know? I really am appreciating the front and rear parking sensors.
Dodge hit a home run with the interior. Start/Stop Technology is a bad system and proving VERY unpopular. FCA recalling 5.2 million trucks made me check them off my list right away.
When I started looking for my 2016 Ram, it was so hard to find the package that I was looking for with a bench seat. I have 6 people in my family, and we aren’t always in the truck but when we do take it, it’s nice to have. Wish they offered more. All the dealers around me anyway, are 98% center console trucks. Guess I fall in that 2% of people that like my bench lol.
Great video review. Just bought the 2019 Rebel in white/black. Very happy with the options, ride quality while driving and the interior is very very high quality.
Apex Reviews is the stop start feature only in the eTorque configuration? please say yes LOL. Also whats your opinion on using a knob gear changer? IDK why FCA insists on this design rather than a nice center shift.
Sharp truck dude i like it i have had my eyes on a DODGE ram 1500 for awhile now ready to buy soon. Does that come with or what can you tell me about the panoramic sunroof should i or should i not is it too much trouble i LOVE the look of that big time.
Sweet, a video from Midland and a vehicle from Feeney! I really like the truck overall... but the red on the interior with the black and white exterior looks like shit, IMO... but to each there own.
Take good care of it treat it right should last a long time I want the ram rebel over the Toyota Tundra but I’m not sure what to go with the tundra lack of style inside and outside it just plain ugly but I’m not gonna lie that tundra engine is reliable but I’m not sure either 2019 ram rebel or tundra
“The problem is, you think ‘afford’ means I can make the payments if I don’t lose my job or anything bad happens.” @TheTechCguy they can’t. People don’t have assets. Their lives are fiat. That’s what it is to be ‘middle class’ in America.
The economy is booming, any decent job pays enough to own a decent truck. It’s pretty common, every other vehicle on the road is a brand new pickup, so maybe it’s something you’re doing wrong or your outlook?
I like the Rebel, but honestly thought the exterior of the old truck looked better, interior of the new truck though is unmatched! Great job on the review!
So with a lithium ion battery how’s that supposed to work with it’s flipping cold out? Will the hybrid system not work? Ram said they still use a normal 12v battery to start the truck b/c a conventional battery will start the truck better. So that’s what I’m wondering about... will the hybrid system be useless in the winter ?
the start-stop feature runs from the 12 volt battery, not the actual lithium ion etorque battery. but as all 'hybrids', the battery will have to just warm up before it works to its full potential which takes a few minutes. if a full-battery powered tesla can work in canada, im sure this etorque will work just fine :)
