Going to buy a revolt 36 inch on Tuesday Even though I have about 2 months of mowing left, I think it will be useful to get it now for odd jobs that might come up

Buddy I’ve got another 36 inch revolt and I love it man…get that chute blocker and the receiver hitch on the front…trust me you will be glad you did both man…I haven’t found a backyard gate or right spot that little mower won’t get into yet! Great choice

I hope you can make a review on the 36-inch revolt in the near future. Its damn near impossible to find a video for that specific size revolt. Otherwise your video here has been helpful! Been looking to get a 36 in to get things started and then expand. Cheers man 🤝🍻

Honestly brother if you’re just starting I wouldn’t recommend getting the 36” Revolt id tell you to get the 54” Revolt or the 48” Revolt. I just learned something valuable…that 36” stand on is still pretty heavy for that sized deck on a mower. Also, I never ended up using it because if possible you’re always going to choose the 54” deck first. And I rarely ended up coming across a gate situation that I needed it for. And it’s a great mower don’t get me wrong it just didn’t get used like it needed to be. I just sold it and ironically I’m picking up a new 36” Bad Boy Raider - walk behind with velky attachment and chute blocker tomorrow morning lol…..the raider is still commercial grade, it weighs 100s of lbs. less. It’s better for hills and difficult ground/terrain and the weight being so much less really helps with not tearing up yards….im making a review video and will have that uploaded in probably 2 weeks….

@prodigylawns you're right, man. I didn't take that into consideration. I'll definitely look into the 48 in !! I've been doing more research on it and I'm leaning more towards that one. Thank you brother! Look forward to seeing more of your videos.

I can’t urge you enough to stay away from cub cadet….especially if you’re looking for commercial grade. They just came into the commercial mowers field last year and it’s like anything else…you don’t want the first few generations of those mowers lol…I’ve never heard good words from a mechanic about cub cadet either…and this last one is gonna kill you brother, my neighbor a few years ago mowed his yard one day with his cub cadet ride on mower and when he finished parked it in his garage and it blew up and burned the whole house down. I promise I’m not kidding, there’s a big lawsuit for that happening to a bunch of people with them if you google it. I’d urge you to start out with the 48 inch BadBoy revolt man. Great all around mower and great all around size.
@prodigylawns

And the only reason I went with the 54 is because I also have a 36 inch revolt for backyards…awesome mower as well

I got to say the steering wheel I kept it at steering wheel until it got stolen it was just a little 42 I could put that thing on heels where I can't put my regular zero-turn at sideways across and it was great but somebody else had to have it more than I did

Hey can you give me a little info on the had control for he chute please. great review man thanks
@prodigylawns
@prodigylawns 9 месяцев назад
Yes I can, what do you need to know? It’s a handle that basically has a few notches in the moving/control mechanism so you can set it to I think 4 different positions, down and fully closed, then there’s two open notches until you get to completely open and the chute is completely open and disengaged…you pull the lever towards you to close the chute to whichever position you want, and you release and let it go forward to let it open up. Does that answer anything?
@prodigylawns
@prodigylawns 9 месяцев назад
But that chute blocker is a game changer…make sure you purchase the one that BadBoy supplies when you purchase your mower because there’s a lot of others out there that I don’t think work as well…and more expensive

Any problems with wet grass and how’s the foot print a buddy has a ex mark stairs and has a very light foot print
@prodigylawns
@prodigylawns 10 месяцев назад
Footprint is no big deal as long as you three point turn and you don’t try to run a nascar race because being that their decks are heavy gauge steel and they do have very aggressive treaded tires on them you can definitely tear up some turf if you’re not careful but those tires on the other hand are awesome for hills. Wet grass hasn’t caused me any issues but I will say I keep my blades very sharp. I’ve been really Impressed with how much power it’s got though I’ve ran over some seriously tall and thick grass and brush and it still hasn’t bogged down and died yet..and I’m this video when it cuts to me mowing that backyard the grass was up past my hips and it was very wet. Basically from my experience with these mowers, just take care and maintain it, and also don’t treat it like it’s in a race all the time, it lays down a pretty cut and will last a long time.

How does the cut quality of the Revolt compare to the Scag V-Ride or a Ferris Z2/Z3? I'm very much considering the Revolt, especially since it has the larger commercial FX motor and the 3400 hydros. Do you know off hand if the Revolt standing platform is similar in position to the Ferris. The Scag feels like my toes are pointing down and I'm leaning over the machine, the Ferris feels like I'm positioned flatter on the platform. Thanks for any input!
@prodigylawns
@prodigylawns Год назад
I’ll be honest they’re all very close in cut quality, so that’s not a worry…my main thing is the BadBoy is so strong and built like a tank and that’s what sets it apart. As far as the standing platform goes, BadBoy really got it right this time, the platform on all of the revolts are so bouncy that when you get on it you’ll second guess how well it will hold up,but it levels out and really out performs in the field so it becomes a no brainer after that and it feels like you’re floating. That means a lot coming from me too I have arthritis that kills my n
@johnd.613
@johnd.613 Год назад
@@prodigylawns Thanks for your insight, I also have arthritis and am looking forward to a stander. From all I have seen looking at the various brands the Bad Boy is a great value. The hydros, motor, cut quality and deck build/ thickness are what led me to this model. Additionally as you mentioned the price is much better than the competition. DLT LAWN did a video on the revolt when he demo'd the Revolt. The cut and stripes were very similar to what the Velocity deck does on the Scag, if not the same.Thanks again!

Kawi or vanguard motor your opinions please sir
@prodigylawns
@prodigylawns 10 месяцев назад
Well I know vanguard was behind on the technology for a while but got it together to be competitive again a few years ago. I went with the Kawasaki e cause Every one of these companies are running Kawasaki engines on these mowers for the most part and there isn’t a whole lot of problems you hear about….but there has a to be a reason all the companies like Kawasaki small engines in these mowers so much ya know? I do think the Vanguards are heavier when you compare weight to horsepower also.
@davidtravis1367
@davidtravis1367 10 месяцев назад
And what’s the price for the 54
@prodigylawns
@prodigylawns 10 месяцев назад
I think if you walk out the door with it completely stock and no add ons they’re right around $9000, they went up a little from inflation but also people in the commercial side have realized BadBoy got it together and these mowers are legit.

Not to sound negative but Bad Boy is a big box brand not a real commercial piece of equipment.Terrible customer service,if you get bored try calling there customer support and I think you’ll be disappointed
@prodigylawns
@prodigylawns 11 месяцев назад
Hmmmm everyone’s entitled to their own opinion….but yeah I can’t imagine why you need to deal with BadBoy customer service on any kind of regular schedule? You should be able to accomplish most everything through your authorized dealer who sold you the equipment. Works out great for me! As far as big box brand goes I don’t understand, if you want to buy a commercial level BadBoy mower, they require you go to an authorized dealer which would be a primary mower dealership and other gas powered tools….otherwise yes you can buy most of the homeowner grade BadBoy mowers in stores like Ace Hardware, and maybe some other big box stores. In my experience though as someone who’s putting 25-35 hours in a week during the growing season on two different BadBoy stand on Revolts….they’re killing it for me I love them!

@@prodigylawns To be honest had a question about an advance blocker then had a warranty issue once I purchased another one (witch in their own words once I finally got a hold of someone no warranty on parts)in my area they sell bad boy at tractor supply and rural king and a used car lot is trying to get into the mower business hints the big box experience.I’ve looked at the stand on at equip expo and seemed pretty light duty compared to other brands,not to mention why go with a 54” deck size when most manufacturers offer a 52” or 60”?Either way I hope you enjoy yours and wish you nothing but the best nothing personal they gave me the run around about a $200 chute blocker i can only imagine the headache you’d have once the guy at the hardware store/bad boy dealer can’t handle.That being said bad boy is not on par with scag,exmark ,wright,toro or gravely that’s fact not my opinion.At least they offer the Kawasaki engine I’ll give them that.Take care and best of luck with your mower
@prodigylawns
@prodigylawns 9 месяцев назад
Hey man I’ll just be honest, it’s kinda hard to take this seriously because you said the BadBoy mowers you checked out looked and felt like they were built weak, it’s a known fact in the landscaping industry that BadBoy mowers are pretty much the heaviest duty mowers you can buy….im sorry they weren’t a fit for you but you don’t have to make up low key insults about them….especially when people in the know see this it kind of discredits the other things you say….and also I don’t understand why you’re asking why anyone would by a 54 when everyone else has 52 inch decks….because I don’t want to be like everyone else and I want that extra 2 inches in width of cutting? I don’t know what you’re trying to get at but not all mowers are a fit for everyone but it’s not a reason to spread negativity. You’re better than that man I know it. God Bless you brother and best of luck in your mowing endeavors, the other brands are good too!
