FYI from what I can deduce, the main reason that GMC dropped Apple CarPlay is because they'd rather you use their systems -- they can collect WAY more data on you than they can with Apple CarPlay (where it's all routed through Apple, which is relatively secure/private compared to a data-hungry car company).

There is a neat way to mute the radio without turning knob or rockers, just use the phone hang up toggle. If you’re not on a call it acts like a mute button. I discovered by accident while on test drive.
Honestly I didn’t notice any significant difference in road noise between the two. All these lighter duty all-terrain tires are pretty quiet these days.
Review suggestion: 2023/2024 Toyota 4Runner. NOT a TRD PRO, which always seems to be the press fleet vehicle. Ideally more something like a TRD Offroad Premium or Limited, one of the volume sellers that doesn't have quite as stratospheric of an MSRP. The lesser trims are more realistic and far more attainable to far more people. They really might become future classics. Pour one out for the 5-speed automatic in the United States, it's coming to an end with the end of this 4Runner. I have a 2023 ORP. I love the sheer number of buttons, knobs, and switches in this thing. It has a manual transfer case lever; after the 2024 4Runner departs, the Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator will be the last US vehicle standing that has one.
Matt punching it and expecting more, while in a residential area, is the most Acadia thing that could happen. Honestly that Denali trim really makes the car, especially the front end.
In my dream alternate universe, the EPA light truck loophole wouldn't exist and GM would be putting this much effort into a full size Oldsmobile sedan and wagon instead of a huge 3 row SUV. I really like the chrome grill on the Denali line and general GMC design, but this seems as ludicrous to me as driving a Hummer H2 was in 2008 unless you have a Brady Bunch sized family and a horse trailer to tow.
Buyers beware of 3rd row seat electric headrests. Many are coming right from the factory not functioning. The failure rate is high the tilt function. Seat motors can fail as well. I’ve been waiting 7 weeks for an answer. No parts are available they say. GM has been absolutely no help. They try to contact dealer but when they get know response they say we will give them another week to respond. Wait to purchase until the fix is in place. Not worth the hassle…
Hey Matt, you’ve hustled and sacrificed a lot over the years. I know the business. You have to think though, all of this electric/tronic new wave will wear out and fail overtime, especially if you live in the northeast and you have no mind or skill to control an iron machine. They are giving too many easy outs these days which will end up in so many fatalities in years to come just like in the 40’s 50’s 60’s before “tragedy” hit the main stream.
❤The Vehicle does not offer a 40/20/40 second row bench seating! This is a Handsome Vehicle but it needs to be upgraded to the 2.7 Turbo engine found in the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. I would also like to see 18 inch wheels on all trims for ride comfort and elimination of the paddle shifters. Second row window shades for the kiddies would be great. Locking gas cap door and full size spare tire stored inside the vehicle. Great Review Matt, keep up the good work!
I agree, yup lol . I test drove it last week, not only the sound but it felt like it struggle a bit, its a smooth ride no doubt, but not worth the current sales price they gave me (58k)
Sorry Matt but its NOT a BRAND New Engine! !!! It's the same Engine that is in the Silverado, Colorado, Sierra, & Canyon & Cadillac ct4 V. It's the 2.7 liter minas -.2liters. 😮😊
WHY can't GM offer a v6? Sure, they say you can tow up to 5000lbs, but I'd bet dollars to donuts you're going to have overheating issues with the little 4 banger. I very well may switch over to Ford, the Explorer ST is badass.
I just love this , would want more chrome and love the seats, would want black though. I actually was looking at another Cadillac CTS. Lol! But this did catch my eye, beautiful. One draw back is you have to push button for AWD, when it should do that automatically if wheels starts to spin, surprised about that, disappointed! Like the super curise!
I really like the Acadia, but it's a bit of a bummer to see it grow like this. I think when GM split this and the Traverse to attack both ends of the size spectrum in this segment, were the golden years of the Acadia. Large enough that you could carry 6 grown adults, but small enough that the V6 didn't feel completely underwhelming.
What’s the actual size of the center screen? With the border on top, hvac and car controls downgraded to the screen to be able to compare it to other cars and previous generations you have to subtract that area from the screen size. It’s not 15 inches when you have persistent buttons
I wish they would give all the Denali trims the Ultimate treatment like the Yukon. The darker chrome and nicer leather should be available on all models.
What would a walk around show that my shots don't? I'll admit that the lighting, color and setting weren't ideal, but none of those things would be improved with a walk around.
