This a my quick review of the 300AAC Blackout cutting jig sold by Squirrel Daddy on Ebay and Amazon. For the purchase price of $10 including shipping it is a very good deal. The other mainstream jig is over $50 and this simple jig is just as fast and a lot less expensive.

Thanks for the vid! Yours is the FIRST vid I've seen that shows the cases being placed against the "stop" for the length trimming. But is the blade flushed up against the wall of the gap(in the jig) to the right or the left? Well, at least now I have a starting point & can mark the case & adjust the blade to cut to length. Maybe I'll make it slightly long, since I was lucky during the recent "buying panic" & purchased a Redding form & trim die for .300 BLK ! (I just DON'T want to use it for all the cutting, hacksawing isn't as easy as using the trim saw! But a little quick work with a file isn't disagreeable! Thanks again!) 👏🤠

Keep it up man. Deer season is right around the corner.

If that is the only thing that the saw is used for, then use and RTV (removable later) or a weak glue so when the saw needs replaced, it can be removed without great trouble.

I like your idea of only having to debur only one time. I ordered a bunch of LC brass from Brass Bomber and it has been cleaned, deprime, swagged. I see now that I can just go ahead and resize to the 300 profile but I wonder if I could leave my ball expander decapping pin in? And then hack case off with jig like you have then trim to length and finally debur case? Thanks for the video!!

The expander ball will tear up the 223 cases trying to fit thru the smaller opening. You way better off cutting the cases and then then forming the brass. I tried various ways...some worked , some failed miserably. There really is not any short cut you can take when forming 300 blk cases.... except getting a Dillon electric case trimmer set up like WTFSoCal has... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-olxQTOHw6qQ.html

They list 4 different jigs for 300BLK, do you know what the differences are?

Nope, sorry. I have had the one I have for over 7 years now. It has done thousands of cases with flying colors.

Any time you get a tool that makes the process faster that's a good thing. Good luck with the move.

Good review. But you didn't show it in action. Wish I could have found one of those when I needed one.

When I do the video on the complete conversion from 223 to 300AAC you'll see it in action and hopefully leveled out to. lol I stumbled on the jigs that the guy makes by accident one day.... A heck of a deal on the Ebay listing... not so much on the Amazon one. Thanks UB Take care

Just JBweld a nickle or a few coins on the bottom of the other side of the jig?? I know it is ghetto, but it should work. Sweet jig!

what blade do you have on your saw, where did you get it
@papasplace2
@papasplace2 4 года назад
Just the blade that came on the saw when I bought it at Harbor Freight. They sell replacement blades item # 42805. www.harborfreight.com/pack-of-3-2-inch-cut-off-wheels-42805.html

@@papasplace2 I use the same saw but it seems to take a long time to cut through the brass with this blade
@papasplace2
@papasplace2 4 года назад
@@patricktack165 You might want to check and make sure the blade is on the correct way... I still have the original blade on my saw and it cuts great after several thousand cases.

First thing I saw these weird double neck cartridges I was like woaw.. what the heck is that? and then it hit me what you did there :-) I don't know how you did that, I've tried to do that with my set of lee dies and it would not let me do that without cutting off excess first. I am going to try again harder again, I hope I don't break anything. I enjoyed this overview and it's a shame you have all the background noise going on.
@papasplace2
@papasplace2 9 лет назад
Sorry about the background noise... that was the house A/C running just outside the door to my shed. If your going to try the way I described in the vid make sure you lube the cases really well. Good luck. Take care

+Dima Prok He did it by removing the decapping pin from the resizing die. Personally, I cut first with the spent primer in, then resize and decap at the same time. Works for me.

Not at all able to use mine. Moves too much and too easily in the saw vise. No matter how I tighten it. However, the 300 Blackout decapping pins work great. I could rig the thing to work, but nah, shouldn't need to.
