6:18. I have a 1960 Beetle that I plan to restore in the near future. The engine is a 1200cc 36hp. It looks virtually identical to the one in that Kubelwagen. It’s amazing how little the engine changed between those years.
one of the best 1/12 VW82/87 Kubel wagen display quality with RC running gear, almost like real. 1/12 RocHobby RC model VW82 Kubelwagen with 1/1 real 1943 Kubelwagen - RU-vid
The Kubel in this video is rear wheel drive. They did produce a 4x4 Beetle during the war using Kubelwagen and Schwimmwagen parts but I don't know of any 4x4 Kubels, they did made half track versions of the Kubel. I don't think there'd be any real off road benefit of a 4x4 Kubel. The Willys wasn't that great off road anyway (as my grandad who fought in the war would tell you, many soldiers broke their wrists on the steering wheels of Jeeps off roading, the Kubelwagens steering column was mounted on springs to avoid this and Jeeps would get stuck very easily as the 4x4 systems back then were very basic compared to today).
