So true, and you can't judge them on paper but on skin! So many fragrances that opens wonderfully dries down to absolute shit, especially those ambroxan-heavy fragrances that turn into harsh, salty, chemical dumpster fires on skin in the dry down. And some of my favorite fragrances have a really mediocre starts only to dry down to something really special.

@@ManicMindTrick I understand why people use strips when testing multiple fragrances, to get a general idea, but the ONLY way to know is to test on skin, and even then, day to day, your own nose will perceive any single fragrance differently based on multiple biological factors. Ive sprayed the same fragrance on every one of my family members and it smelled and performed very differently on everyone (even out of the same family, with similar skin.) Diff notes come off each person, with some it left a trail, others it didn’t, etc. It’s amazing people don’t realize this. And then don’t even get me talking about how a fragrance develops in the bottle over time after the first spray or due to how its been stored.

It’s super challenging, but definitely an amazing and deep scent. I don’t wear it, but I could see someone rocking it.

Dude, it really is. Such an amazing scent. It reminds me of my childhood Christmas when my mom would make spiced tea.

I completely agree. Antonio Gardoni knew what he was doing when he created this scent. It doesn't work for me quite as well, because I am in office meetings every day and I have to wear scents that are not as powerful. Excellent fragrance though. It's uncommon that I enjoy every fragrance in the house, but I do with Zoologist.

I tried Parfums de Marly discovery set for men and it was mostly disappointing. It's pretty standard commercial sweet, vanilla type stuff and some generic smelling mans fragrance. The only one that connected emotionally was Greenley which had a beautiful fresh tart green apple opening with a very nice violet mids but unfortunately it dried down to that awful salty, chemical ambroxan skin smell. It was so beautiful but they ruined it for performance. I would have bought it otherwise. So many good fragrances have been ruined like that. So many.

Moth smells like stinky dried saliva and camel has a diarrhea note in it... The other one I've tried is Bat (original) and that one is top.

Camel, Squid, Beaver, Bee, Rhino and Moth are probably my favs. I also love Hyrax but it’s a unique scent that not everyone will love.
