I read Anna Karenina while working in a medical library in Memphis. The job paid very little, but I was able to read while working there. I remember completing Anna Karenina, Orlando, The Last of the Mohicans, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and other novels while working there. Unfortunately, I had to quit due to the jobs weird schedule where one day a week I got off after midnight but had to be back before 6:00 AM to open the lab. With my one-hour commute, I was getting no sleep or two hours at most that one night/morning. I enjoyed Anna Karenina, but not as much as I enjoyed his other work.
With this one, you kinda gotta be on board with the slice of life, relationship stuff cuz that’s the vast majority of the book; I too hope it get more interesting for you! 🙌🏻
Disagree on dryness (it’s all character/relationship stuff) - but I would probably have agreed if I tried in 7th grade too lol Oh the lengths we tried to go for AR points 😂
