The first thing I do is pull down enough material to just cover the heat strip to begin with, then seal. That way I don't have an open-ended "sleeve". Then I can cut off the length I require, insert the food etc. then finish seal.
Thank you for making this video. i learned more than just operating it because you were curious enough to show creative options that I never would have thought of. Cheers.
Excellent video. I purchased this sealer a few months ago but I kept postponing to use it. After watching this video, I immediately felt confident to use it. Thank you.
Great video. I wish I’d seen it before I used mine the first time. Their diagram manual is very lacking. It has no text with it and sometimes you can’t really tell what the diagram is instructing. For wet foods, it’s important to give more space with the final seal between the food and where you seal it. Then use the wet food option. Doing both of these things prevents any liquid from being sucked up into the machine. Using pulse is best for that as well. I’d like to see a video with the hose feature. I need to know the size of the attachment piece because universal hoses will not work. They are .22 and the Anova port is smaller than that.
Thank you so much! Bought this during a Black Friday deal and finally decided to use it but the instructions were vague and confusing and I was able to use your directions before even finishing the video!
Thanks for the video. The included pictographs that come in the box are garbage. For those wanting to seal meat or other wet/moist foods (meat, mushrooms so far in my experience), press the “moist” button before pressing the “auto” button, and DO KNOW that fluids will collect in the oval well/groove! Blot these up after you’re done, that’s it. Great unit (my first), AWFUL instructions provided in the box, and this video is sufficient for use-thanks!
If it's a cut of raw meat for storage/freezing, then the auto air removal/sealing function is easiest. I haven't done it with marinated meat, but it'll pull out most of the liquid marinade you put in the bag if you use auto, so I'd put as little of the marinade as possible before sealing (unless you're good with using the manual function - I'd experiment with it a couple of times to get the hang of it). There'll probably be some liquid marinade pooling into the catch tray though, which you need to clean/wipe away afterwards.
OMG! I'm such an idiot! I just got mine.. and I am so used to my laptop cord being separate, that I thought they forgot to include the cord! UNDERNEATH! LOL! Love this video. Thank you!
That was a really good video. I did jump forward a few minutes, as I had already bought it and needed to know how to use it. You did a great job of demonstrating how to use the machine. Your video was very clear. Easy to understand. Well-lit. Thanks. Problem with subscribing to your channel is that I don't really know what you're trying to do? Are you just electronics and gadgets? Are you looking to help a certain market demo? Like 20-35 y.o. urban professionals? I don't know, so I'm hesitant to subscribe. I would need to know more before I'd subscribe.
Thank you for the really great video! I bought this vacuum sealer a while ago and am just getting ready to try it. I've never used one before, so your video was very helpful! Thanks again!
@@ВалентинНеизвестный-я7п the unit is 120v 60hz, so it won't work in Europe. The only work-around I can think of is a step-up power converter - not a cheap solution.
Thank you so much for this excellent video! I’ve had the unit fit a few months and thought I could figure it out myself. Wrong! I tried to seal salmon fillets without success. I learned a lot from your video and am no longer reluctant to use it!!!😊
Nice video. Would liked to have seen something like Red Meat or Pork. Something with some juice to see if it gets messy. Some other brands have a removable drip tray. Not sure if the tray is removable on this model.
@@FirstL00k I ended up buying the Pyukix brand from Amazon for about 55 bucks. They have a 30 dollar discount coupon now. I currently own a Food Saver upright. But it has failing. So I thought I would give another brand a try. The one I purchased does not have the double seal. But to be honest I've never really had an issue with my FoodSaver not having that feature. Maybe you'll do a review on the one I bought.
I think this vacuum sealer really lousy. I have a vacuum sealer that seals very well and it takes less than 5 second to seal. This 23 second is way too ridiculous.I have a few vacuum sealer, one under $5 and the most expensive I have cost around $50, both can use a normal vacuum bag with single rough side. The expensive one can even vacuum a normal PP bag. This Anova is not impressive at all. My $5 vacuum sealer can do much faster job than this.
I just purchased one of these. The 23-24 seconds doesn't bother me. Is your time so valuable? It does what I want it to do, I'm in no hurry. So, OK, use you $5 vacuum sealer and stop complaining. Why did you even bother to post? I'll use mine as required, so far, I like what it does. No issues.
@@willieboake3111 Why do you have to take my comment so personally ? Whats your issue ? I have my opinion that this vacuum takes so long time to seal compared to so many other brands and that's the truth. Perhaps you are so bored at home with nothing better to do. You talk as though you are a big supporter or the owner of this brand and trying so hard to defend it. Everyone has their own opinion, just because my opinion is different from yours you need to be sarcastic.
Excellent video. We were surprised that there were no written instructions...only pictures which led me to search. And this was AWESOME! Thank you! One thing....what was the plastic tubing for? Other types of bags? THANK YOU!
I just bought a new vac sealer. I was wondering if you have to cut the sealing from the roll each time. It seems that you could load it, seal it and then only cut off what you need... Idk, just askin.
So helpful. Thank you. Question regarding half width snack packs (you demoed with nuts). Can you seal the first end, cut the plastic in half first, seal the sides of each half, fill with nuts, then vacuum seal? Or will the heat bar melt the foam on the locking top? Thank you.
You can do it the way you described, sure. The method I used saves time by removing some extra steps. But it's not the only way; I would do whatever is convenient and comfortable for you.
Use a bit more downward pressure when pushing the cutter across. If it's defective, exchange it since that cutting action is one of the primary selling points.
One feature other vacuum sealers have that I havent seen addressed for this one yet is a removable drip tray. If you vacuum something where liquids come out of the bag- 1 is there a removable tray to easily clean the liquids out of???? 2 can the liquids go down into the vacuum pump destroying the pump or how has the pump been protected?
Was going to buy this until I saw how it takes to seal the bag. The crappy sealer I have now seals in half the time this thing takes. 23 seconds to seal the edge is pathetic for a sealer that costs this much. Guess I'll keep looking. Thanks for the video.
What do you mean by "most people"? Do you sell this unit and follow up with them to find out what they use it for? Or are you referring to people in your own home? Maybe you're blessed and have a lot of meat to eat. But there are an equally large number of people who don't.
@@FirstL00k I just got a free 20 pound ham from the grocery store (using food points). I RARELY buy meat, too expensive!) It will take me a LONG time to eat it with just me and the dog. Also, with Costco/ Sams club/ etc, buying large and freezing saves tons of money... for those of us who "aren't blessed to have lots of money" to constantly buy higher priced meat in food stores I think it is safe to assume that people who use this machine have small families or live alone and need to freeze. So, your "snark" to this poster... not appreciated.
@@Tricia_JoElle the guy didn't like the video, and that's fine. But complaining about it based on an assumption to judge me/my work is infantile. To those, I'll want facts - and I'm still waiting on them. Thoughtless comments whether on RU-vid or real life are not constructive or helpful to anyone.
@@FirstL00k i still liked the video because it was informative and you showed the machine well but the original comment does have a point. I know about 6 families that have vac sealers and they all use it mainly for freezing a lot of meat. I know thats a small sample size but even if its not meat doing something wet like a purée would have been really nice to see because it is a really important function to see in a vac sealer
@@FirstL00k I LOVED your video... The important piece was you covered the vast majority of the unit's ability, and had the courtesy of saying "23 seconds later" so viewers didn't sit through that.. GOSH people could find fault in the darn blessed mother herself...lol... or Mother Theresa... or..... whomever.. GREAT video. THANK YOU!!!
