Silly app. I does not give me possibility to put PLR50c on a stand and use phone to activate measurement. You must go out of office sometimes.... Would it be so hard to write an app that would 1. allow me to put laser on a stand. 2. Turn on red dot on laser. 3. Take my phone start app thaw would activate the camera. 4. turn my phone and take the picture. 5. app will trigger the laser and measure the distance. 6. App will imprint that distance to image. Is there a protocol that plr50c use so I can writte the app for myself???
Pajam Hey, sorry for the delay. You asked the right person. I spent a lot of time until I figure out the differences between them. And I ended with GLM50C because of one feature that PLR not have. the main differences between PLR & GLM50C: PLR: More modern as it has a big touchable screen and it looks fantastic (I wish if the GLM has this feature). It has a small plastic piece for angles and edges. It is a little bit bigger than GLM50C. As I remember, it has the same dimensions of GLM80, which allows you to use the R60 Leveling rail. But check that information. Only metric. GLM50C: It is a little bit more accurate than PLR, but not by that much. For home use only and short distance, both are same. It has a "stock feature" which is missing in PLR. You can see the digital levelling bubbles while taking the measurements. And this what makes me buy the GLM50C. You can attach it to any standard tripod stand which you can not with PLR. It has more significant memory. You can choose between imperial units or metric. Both of them have a measurement app, and I like it so much, but I can not say which one is better because I did not use the PLR app. You should know which features are essential for you. BTW, PLR is harder to find in eBay. Bosch should combine those two devices and come up with the best laser measurement device. I hope that's helpful.
