I don't have this exact brand so I can't speak for all of them. But at least for the one that I do own; the stitching around the knot for the corners has broken twice. Causing the corners to sag very heavily. This occurred after only 2 or 3 times of setting it up. Still a fun thing to have for friendly pick up games though.
i really doubt you can rip one. we have a bunch of the skillz version of these. what lets you rip nets is that the cage doesnt give so the net does (tearing) with these the "cage" moves quite freely and prevents that kind of pressure from being put on the net. that said the skillz versions of these have other shortcomings. we used them for summer pickup with our youth program last year and our former players (all current D1 and D3 athletes) that we had helping out were not able to tear or damage the goal. the skillz version however doesnt survive multiple set up/take downs too well. we started with probably 12 and 2 years later we probably have less than 8 left.
good day. It seems to me as you may have not opened the base to its full extent. there should be a click lock in the hinge. the top bar usually is a bit more rigid I think. as I sell these in Europe, I will gladly say I have not had any problems with ripping.
Cool product but for that kind of money, if you have a back yard that wouldn't need at portable net or if you didn't have any intentions of moving your goal you could just buy a real goal this is more sturdy and has a real frame. Good review though
