This video is a my review of the Clover Amour vs Tulip hooks. I purchased the Tulip hooks from Amazon used like new for $56.99. I am a huge fan of Clover but wanted to try the Tulip hooks after watching a RU-vidr use them.
Review:
Tulip is good but not quite as smooth as Clover. The hook size is glued on Tulip instead of embossed like Clover, so you will eventually lose the hook size. Tulip is comfortable to hold but not as smooth and soft as Clover. The hooks are about the same length. Overall for a slightly lower price the Tulip are still good hooks, but Clover is still the best for me!

Anything made in Japan or Germany is just really excellent quality!!! I want to try the tulip. It omg they are quite Pricey. I got the amour and omg loveeee them!!!!’ Tfs

I got my Tulip silver set for around $50 on Amazon and they can be even cheaper during sales. I have a lot of sets, collected over 50+ years, and I find that each yarn type and color can affect how well any particular hook works. For example, I have two variations of Red Heart, orange colored yarns. I can do a complicated stitch with a Tulip hook very easily, with one color, but it is impossible to do with the other color. In fact, with all the different hook sets I have, I couldn't fine one hook that would do the stitch. I suspect it would require a bamboo hook, which is one type I don't have yet as I've never needed one. I now know to try out a new stich, with the yarn I want to use, before beginning a project as one hook type may work far better than the other hooks or I might not be able to do the stitch at all with the hooks I have.

I have bamboo hooks, not my favorite, I'm a clover girl. They have been the best for all of my projects. Thanks for watching and sharing!

I have both the clover and more and the tulip in the gray and gold, plus a few reds, and a few pink toys. I loved my clover, but I use my tulips all the time. They just feel so good in my small hand and glide right through the yarn. I have that the clovers feel good in my hand, and I like that they are color-coded. I love that my tulips come in a wonderful rollup pouch. Complete with a place for small notions and the wonderful little pair of scissors. All I have to do is roll up and throw my bag and I have everything that I need.

My Tulips were only $42___ I do like the Tulip case… I keep my. Clovers in a cute little Vera Bradley pencil case.

Thanks for the comparison . I was a Susan Bates girl until I needed a J hook and there wasn't a Susan Bates available. I hate Boye so I grabbed the Clover . I had no idea what I was missing ! Love my Clover hooks . Furls are beautiful but I can't get past the price .

I started with Susan Bates too. I don't remember how I learned about Clover but I was sold the first time I used it! I can't get past the furls price either. Still looking for the sale lol.

I used SB aluminum hooks for years, until,I tried a Clover Amour hook.

nice video :) i personally like the clover amour ones for lace crochet because they have suuuuper duper tiny sizes that are still amazing quality wich most hooks in those micro sizes dont (they arent smooth, they break easy etc). but for regular crochet i like the furls odyssey hooks the best, they combine everything i want from a hook-gold quality, a nice design, a flawless smooth hook and hookhead, they are long and also chunky and have weight to them wich i really love and they allow me to crochet for 6+ hours without any discomfort :) but if they wouldnt br out there i would go with clover-never had a problem with them and they work very well :)

I bought two of the tulip hooks, they don’t fit my hand as well as the clover hooks. I pick my clover every time.
