Thanks for posting this! I've loved the BBC adaptation from 1995 for ages now and I *did* sort of assume that the book would be lost on me without having a better understanding of the novels that it was parodying. I'm glad to find out that I was wrong and I have added it to my reading list. Again, thank you so much!
No problem, I hope you enjoy it! I totally forgot to mention the film adaptation 🤣 But from some clips I watched, it seems very faithful and got a lot of good press at the time, so if you love the movie, I think you'll definitely love the book. 😊
You mentioned Flora's walks with Mr. Mybug, and how everything reminded Mr. Mybug about sex. Given Mybug's supposed predilection towards nature, I thought the funniest comment in the passage was this: Flora used sometime to ask him the name of a tree, but he never knew.
