Mix half Pirate Kake and half Haunted Bookshop then let age for at least 30 days makes Haunted Pirateship. I absolutely love it better than the two blends by themselves. Matches came up with the idea years ago.

You mentioned "scores" in this video; I appreciate the fact that you don't ultimately reduce your thoughts/opinions to a number. That style makes sense to me for pipe tobacco reviewing (if not selling). Carry on, goodsir.
I miss my pipe. I never smoked it daily, but every once in a while it was really nice to have while sitting on the back porch. Then, for some reason, nicotine started making me nauseous and I had to put it down. Admittedly, I wasn't really paying much attention to the kind of tobacco I was using (whatever looked interesting on Smoking Pipes at the time), so I may have had some stronger stuff. I recently looked at Smoking Pipes for nicotine strengths and they say Latakia has the lowest nicotine content of just about anything else out there (0.8-1% on average). With 75% Latakia in Pirate Kake, it makes me wonder if this might be something I can handle. Appreciate the review. Might have to give this one a go.
Worth a try, though I'd say that Pirate Kake is pretty bold! It's hard to say what might hit you, but as a general rule, pure Virginias, blends with Perique, and dark fired Kentucky blends are pretty high in nic.
I just got a tin of Sunday Picnic, dated from 2 weeks ago, which had a reasonably sized health warning along the bottom of the label. Not bad compared to the European warnings.

They are good reviews. Seriously, the best pipe tobacco reviews on RU-vid. You go more in depth on flavors and perceived flavors and really try to get us to understand what you experience.
It's certainly on my must-try list, I already know C&D does a good job with this type of tobacco presentation from their delicious Kajun Kake VaPer. I would have held off a bit before making this video, though...Talk Like A Pirate Day is right around the corner on September 19th! Arr. Well done.

Love this review. The prop visuals were funny and on point. I saw this tobacco at my local shop and considered buying.. Pipe tobacco in Ontario is super expensive compared to USA. I will probably not purchase based on the latakia content, but this was a thorough and enjoyable review. Thanks Bradley

Amen, I would postulate that the Burley is keeping the latikia slightly under control. I am on my third order of the 16 ounce. I tried anniversary kake and then when I tried this one I didn’t have to go any further. My other blend is Mac baren HH dark fired Kentucky ready Rub. ✔️👍👏. Those two are keeping me pacified during this terrible year.
Ten months after watching this video, I am in search of a review of Maltese Falcon. Have you tried the Sutliffs Virginia Crumble Kake or the Virginia Perique Crumble Kake? I really liked the way their cakes Crumble. They pack and burn great.
I think I understand the visual representation of the flavor. It's tight like a belt, boxy like a box, it sticks with you like a little stick, and it's milky like a carton of milk.

My mistake when starting smoking pipes was listening too close to others opinions on blends. Things like moisture content and blend info is great. But I was hating life with aeromatics and vapers. Found out I absolutely love Balkan blends and super heavy English blends like nightcap/ten russians. I smoke connoisseurs choice and autumn evening if I'm in the mood for a little bit of aromatherapy but Balkan blends, vaburs, and English blends with a healthy amount of burley really get me going
i liked ten russians and i had some from over 2 years ago, but my mom visited me and threw it out, along with everything else. im not a huge smoker but i like it enough to have cellared about 20 packed jars
I'm a latakia junkie jl but pirate kake is so flat in taste I use it to mix with other blends HBS and 5 brother are my favorite to mix pirate kake with but by itself is super boring
I love Nightcap! This is a very close second! Very slightly milder. I also smoke cigars, so neither is strong to me, both have wonderful taste and aroma! C & D Bow Legged Bear, Black Frigate and Billy Budd are also really good.
