08:10 Engine static run-up. When engine anti-ice is required and the outside air temp is below 3 degrees. Run-up to a minimum of 70% N1 and confirm stable engine operation before the start of takeoff roll. a 30 seconds run-up is highly recommended whenever possible. B737 QRH Yes, I am B737 pilot)
Greetings from Prague! I am working for Prague Airport Security. Finnair has a contract with Czech Airlines Technics for maintanence and they are also offering parking at Prague for a much better price than in Helsinki and winters here are not so heavy. They pay about 2000 € for parking / 1 aircraft / 1 month. They have got at least 17 A320 in here. I really love your trip reports, good job!
Wow that meal for AUD $20 Looked like a Business Class meal!! Well done Smartwings and looked like a hard working crew up and down the Aisles. Lovely to see you fit and happy Josh. Cant wait to see the final destination.👍
@@matejbrunda6478 at least business class is OK. Economy with Smartwings sucks! I booked a flight with Czech Airlines (marketed as operated by czech airlines at booking thus different standards when compared to Smartwings) but then they changed it and it was smartwings flights, crowded, safety sucked (people were allowed with really big hand bags or carry ones, barely fit in the overhead compartment, had their bags in their lap, on the aisle... I didn't even get water, which was avertised as included plus snacks with czech airlines; it was a nonstop flight and they lost my luggage, they basically didn't get it on the plane and they sent it 3 days later, wrote a complaint and told them that I don't have clothes and they replied telling me they cannot accept expenses because, they thought, I travelled home when I actually went back to my native country though I don't live there thus no clothes at home and away from my old hometown anyway... pathetic!)
@@bboyjunyorwe flew to greece (Heraklion) from Brno and it was actually pretty decent, we also got our luggage and their landing isn't like Ryanair at least😂
Josh I can't tell you how nice it is to watch your reviews here, especially while so many are staying at home. I am a nurse and every chance I get I check to see new travels from you whether at home or work. As soon as we get past this covid I hope to do some travel as well. I just took the first vaccine of two and hope this gets us all past the quarantines. You be safe and I look forward to your next travel.
8:05 this is a standing takeoff, pretty common when the plane is heavy, therefore when the pilots calculates their speed, they take their weight and compare it with the Runway length. In your case you airplane was maybe full of cargo, therefore they took the decision to do this procedure. Hope that helps ;)
It has nothing to do with the airplane weight in this case. Even the shortest runway in Prague is over 3,200m long which is more than enough for a fully loaded 737.
to be honest guys... this could be everything :D everybody knows all xD. The air what you have seen (Wing Anti-Ice) the reason of the static takeoff can only be named by the pilots ;-)
A380 lands/takes off on this runway every single (not corona crisis) day - even fully loaded 737 don't have any problem to do normal take off. This is Engine static run-up (air temp is beslow 3 degrees and engine anti-ice is required)
Hey Josh, regarding your question, we do increase the thrust in cold weather or after deicing for about 30-40 seconds before the takeoff roll. This is to check engine parameters and to make sure we have no ice in the engine or any accompanied thrust loss/heat increase.
I experienced this procedure once. It was on a condor 757 and we were fully booked so I guess it's because of weight and performance of the aircraft in temperature, height and runway length
You make sensational videos Josh! It seems as if we are traveling with you. I enjoy every video of yours! Keep up the marvelous work! Merry Christmas! Take care!
So finnair has made a deal with Prague international to store half of its a320 fleet and they have done this because prague is offering to service the planes and also finnair wants to store there planes somewhere milder 😀👍I hope this help!!✈🛩
Great video! Especially the personal bit at the beginning, with the house you grew up in. Love the nickname for the VW diesel...Tupolev...hahaha! But where did you get the great Ту decal? I have that logo tattooed on my right lower leg. I'm just finding out about you and vegetables...you still avoided a good bit of that salad! Looked like a nice flight and worth what you paid for that and the meal. Can't wait for the next "leg" - so exciting!
AMAZING Josh! I could be wrong but I think that the engines reved up with breaks on so as to get a faster takeoff speed so the aircraft spends minimum time on frozen slippery runway for safety? I think I might know what you're up to but I'll have to wait until next video coz I don't want to look stupid when you prove me wrong! Your Mum looks like a lovely lady and I can see where your good looks come from! Your childhood home is beautiful too. Just like you. Thanks Josh.X
Josh anxiously waiting for great final video of 2020. Your VW is well kept, thumbs up. Great to see your Mom driving you to Prague. Your House view is awesome too. Overall wonderful video.
Have a very Happy Christmas Josh! Big thumbs up for continuing to eat your greens. Champagne, vegetables whatever next...perhaps a change over to BLACK coffee!!!
Josh: "It's a very secret trip, I can't even tell my destination" Also Josh: *Airbus paper showing uncensored at 2:25 and CDG bag tag at 7:58 Enjoy your delivery flight and Merry Christmas :D
Oh cool hints thanks Paris CDG airport 😊👍 and plus just now saw his story pic too with Uganda Airlines Airbus a330 Neo i think in the background.. I think he is invited for a delivery flight..
That procedure on takeoff was a short strip departure. I've experienced several times and I'm pretty sure I know why they did it here. Depending on the runway the length at Prauge is between 10,000 and 12,600 feet give or take, minus what got used lining up. Like you said there was a lot of cargo and a 737-800 needs around 8,100 feet off runway at MTOW. Factor in low visibility amd runway surface and the remaining length after V1 probably meant that it was required for the take off. Love the videos by the way! Happy holidays! 🖖😁
Hi Josh....Merry Christmas...I loved seeing your house..and your Mom...house is beautiful and so is Mom....be safe...I love all the videos...thank you doing the videos...even in these uncertain times...
Wishing you merry Christmas josh. As usual your flight reviews are just awesome. Waiting for the grand finale airline review of 2020. God. Bless you and be safe 😇😊
-1.5 you soft bugger! it's been -14c here in Seoul this past week. Anyway , thanks for the videos Josh you have kept me semi sane during this strange year. All the best to you and your family.
Josh thanks for sharing your humble beginning and your kind mother. The food looked so brilliant.. Ok go home be with your family and enjoy the holidays
Good video and bucket of coffee! :o) Boeing 737s are 100, 200, 300,400,500 are classics, 600, 700, 800, 900 are New Gens, -7, -8, -9, -10 are MAXs. Did you fly on the HiFly A380 back to TLS, thats my guess? (but the airport you arrived at didnt look like LIS?)
LOL! Freezing cold in Germany and you're wearing a simple pull-over hoodie. When the pandemic is over, come visit us in Chicago in January when we have -30F wind chills (which is just about -30C too).
Hello Josh , no surprise for me on where you are. We can see your destination on your luggage tag CDG and you might be in terminal 2A, so i would think long haul flight. I love all your videos. You are so great. Thank you for sharing all those beauties. Merry Christmas. Best regards, Dominique.
the scenery around your neighborhood is beautiful!!! but I guess your used to seeing it everyday!!! by the way, word around is CSA Czech Airlines is being revived in a big way!!! they're going full service & long haul transcontinental in addition to Europe regional which was already there even before CSA went bankrupt!!!
Honestly I never knew that there was Smart Wings. Actually I have never flown on OK despite having been Praha. I guess that this may be like your review of the inaugural QR flight to WDH. Look forward to hearing more before the New Year
Your mom is very cute ☺️ mashallah ❤️❤️❤️ the way she hugged you was really heart touching ❤️❤️ and yeah here is a very big thumbs up for eating your vegetables 🙂👍👍 Can you give me a love for eating my vegetables...
Hey Josh I am your big fan from india when when I start your v blog I put my self I think I am there with you such making good v blog your every information is so deeply it's my dream to I am flying like you love you brother god bless you ❤️❤️😙😙🙏🙏
Am I the only one who noticed your baggage's tag while you zoomed in before take off. I honestly feel bad about it because you didn't want to give clues but then you zoomed in on your bag when it was being transported and the tag was CDG so I knew you're heading to Paris. Great video nonetheless!
