I'm still a bit confused how anybody knew Ruby's name from her Mum dressing like an extra from that Sean Connery film, about the Monks getting murdered , and then pointing dramatically at a lamp post. Like did someone walking home from the pub see that and think "Hello that monk abandoning that baby is naming it after that signpost, i must make a mental note to tell its Foster parents" it was just bloody weird.
It was a disappointing final but I feel that the series was too short, it had series 2 vibes of doctor and rose happy go lucky friendship without any tension between them. The reveal of ruby's mum was a good idea, her being a normal woman but rtd did bait us into thinking she was more important. Unexplained things like why did it snow or why the memory changed to her pointing at the ruby road sign, despite knowing us knowing why she was called ruby in the Christmas special.
There was such potential to do so much and take this story so many places. How disappointing! Ruby's story of her mother could've been the Doctor and River's child, could've been Rose's... so much potential. Instead we were let down with an overly ordinary explanation that yet still didn't completely explain why Ruby was so important & her memories could make it snow. Just dropped the ball completely on that part. Never any explanation or more clues to the one who waits. No more clues on who picked up the toy maker's tooth. No more clues on the identity of the neighbor or what part she plays. I do have a theory that since we've now discovered that the Doctor is not a Time Lord but was discovered and adopted, that he is the God of Time and therfore that's why he is now facing Gods. It's why he is infinite in lives. I hope that's where they take that. I'd like to see some more content from the Flux season and digging into who the Doctor is.
The steelbook version here is shockingly priced at £59.99 Much higher than they have ever been. But I’m sure it will sell Out of by none other than the Speculator market. As historically a fair few of the steelbooks go onto conmand a big asking price. If it were me and I was getting the regular release. I would wait a while and pick up on 2nd hand market when cheap
I wholly agree with all of that. Its pretty clear that Ruby was destined for a bigger story but they canned it when they sacked her. Alot of potential in this story that was unfortunately wasted...
She wasn't sacked as she will appear in the next series. If you watch the rtd clips from the podcast he says that there's more to ruby's story to come.
@@MarcosCha76 still not sacked, the show has always had single series companions like Martha who also returned for a two parter in the following series, dan, bill, donna.
We've had 9 episodes of his Doctor and he's STILL got no personality or character. Fair, he's a cowardly crybaby who thought more about getting his end away than saving Ruby, but they're not quite the traits I'm looking fir in my heros! This fella is so bad he makes Jodie whittaker's run look like peak Tom Baker!
