Review: EcoTools Brush Sets

I have been using these brushes for a couple of years now and I LOVE LOVE them! They hold up beautifully!

I have the instant eyes brushes and I love them! I bought these brushes last year in December and I will not part with them. I use the highlight brush on my eyelid and the crease for the crease.lol The big brush is a little random but I do use it for highlighting my brow bone and my crease. I love Emily's suggestion to use it for powdering under your eye. The little ones are adorable and perfect for the small jobs. These brushes definitely inspire you to be creative!

i LOVE the ecotools brushes too! especially the fluffy blending brush from the first set! that was in my june favorites, because its just SO soft and blends eyeshadow perfectly!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these brushes. They NEVER EVER EVER shed, even after I wash them. They are such good quality, and I am really impressed with them! :)

I have the first set i love them got them as a gift wish they had longer handles but the brushes are soooo sooo soft! looking forward to getting the second set. Thanks for the review!

I love EcoTools and highly recommend foundation brush. It's mostly for liquid foundation, but it also has the tapered point and works well for concealer and getting around eye/nose areas. I highly recommend getting it. I think it's sold individually, not part of any sets. Great review! I'll probably end up giving more of these a try. Thanks!

The largest brush out of the eye set labeled 'blend' I loooove for setting under-eye concealer! It's also really handy for a brow highlight too! Ecotools is definitely one of my favourite brush brands, loved this review :D xxx

I absolutely LOVE my Eco Tools. Their body shaper is the absolute BEST big blender when your working with large areas. I have every single one of this lines brushes...many back-ups and have actually purchased a few products to keep them separate on my vanity and to travel on locations with. And I've had many happy clients seeing me using them too. I probably have a half dozen of the tiny little smudge brush. I've found SO many uses for it, I had to have many back-ups so I wasnt cleaning it so often..lol

Thanks for posting this! I am buying some Eco tool sets next week and was considering getting the eye makeover set. Now I see that the brushes are not the right size for me. I appreciate it! - Your fan in Kentucky, Angela

I just LOVE these brushes. My favorite is the concealer brush which I use as an all-over shader brush. It's absolutely amazing with pigments, actually, presses them right on.

Emily I chose not to purchase those two sets, but you must try the eco bronzer and the travel kabuki if you use your bare escentuals or Laura Geller foundation to carry around in your bag during the day. The bronzer is HUGE, dense round bristles and yummy with a big fat handle many uses and the travel kabuki is so dense, the best travel one I own (which is many) This brush is worthy of replacing your BE Kabuki on your cosmetic table and rivals my beloved Bobbi Brown Kabuki as well! Happy NY!xo

Great review!! I appreciate how thorough you are. I have that eye brush set and love it! The packaging is cute and very convenient. I agree, the labeling is a bit weird, so I just use them any way I want to. Your suggested uses are actually how I use them :) Hopefully others don't take the labeling too seriously and make their makeup application more difficult. But yeah, those Ecotools sets are an amazing value, and I love that they're cruelty-free and environmentally friendly.

These are super great for anyone starting off with makeup, as well as an awesome addition to any makeup artist's kit. I love them!

I love using the mineral concealer brush with my cream concealer. The best concealer brush I've ever used! It's the perfect size for the inner corners of my eyes and gives a smooth application.

I have both of those sets and they are fantastic! The mineral set has changed their carrying case; it's large enough to accommodate the powder brush, but still squishes the kabuki a bit.

Em, great video. I'm new to YT and have to admit that you have spoiled me. You are so concise and professional in your reviews and tutorials, I haven't found another makeup guru's video I can sit thru. Love the EcoTools, I have found my sets at RiteAid. Thanks again.

I love the ecotools brushes! My set came with a more traditional brush roll and included the best concealer brush I've ever used! I love the blush brush too!

Thank you! I took corage to buy them after you mentioned in an earlier video and now I have all sets, except for the individuaal foundation brushes. They are my new love in my make up bag! I was frustrated for a while with drugstore brusges when I bought one of those (I think it's) "bare essentials". They are terrible! They shed, are scratchy and since they have brushes on both sides, it is just uncomfortable and awkward. Ecotools is simply the best!

I have almost every brush they make. Love them all. You need to try the retractable kabuki, alicia set, and the bronzer brush. The dual fiber in the Alicia set is awesome. Also the full size set with the brush roll is great.

I am sooo happy that u did a video on these brushes i am new to makeup and ecotool brushes were my first brushes i have ever purchased and the only reason i bought them to begin with is bc all the packaging said it was eco friendly when i got home and took them out of the package i would not stop rubbing them all over my face lol but they are a wonderful set of brushes :)

I just bought the 4 brush set and i LOVE it! I use the kabuki for blending my contour and the tapered face brush to apply bronzer - I love the application I get with it, it's better than any of my other brushes!

i love ecotools brushes,, i have the 3 brush sets from them. u should try the other brush set with the the bigger handle. it comes with blush brush, eyeshadow brush, concealer, angle, and a eyelash comb and sturdy brush on the other side which is great for the eyebrows. it also comes with brush holder. its a love love!!!

LOVE the First set and use them EVERYDAY! i have had them for months now and NO SHEDDING! ;) Kabuki- blending creme blush Blush Brush- bronzer Concealor- under eye concealor blending eye- all my eyeshadow needs :) PERFECT! so glad you liked them!

I love Eco Tools brushes and have many of them! I use the brush that is labeled as "crease" to apply my under eye concealer. It works perfect!

I want to try the first set. It looks nice. I have the eye set and I agree with you about the first two brushes. They are kind of weird especially the "blend" brush it is way too big for blending. I use it to put shadow all over my lid as well. I like the other brushes in the set though. I love the "highlight" brush for my crease as well as blending out harsh edges.

I have the eye set, and I use the angled brush for my brow bone and the "High light" brush for the crease. (: And the "Shading" brush works for me because I have small lids. (:

i used the face powder brush just today and i love it. they are really soft and pick up product really well. highly recommended and just under $9

I bought the eye set last night I love them. I totally agree with you when you say you have to find your use for the set. I will look out for the other set and retractable kabuki. Great vid.

I think the angled brush(the crease brush from 2nd set) is perfect for putting bronzer on the sides of the nose. Perfect size and shape for near the nose area.

I have the eco tools eye brow set and it's the best! it came with a magnifying mirror, tweezers, sissors, a spoolie brush and an eye brow brush. amazing!

Ecotools was my first brand of brushes though they are not available here in the Netherlands. By coincidence I bought my first "eyeshadow brush" while I was on vacation in Kroatia. It turned out to be a concealer brush but as you pointed out; they are versatile. Ecotools is still my favorite brand even now I bought other brands as well. I have both of the sets from this video and have the same issue with the odd size and shape of the large eye brushes. Still I turn out to use them a lot.

I have the set for eyes and I also found that the labels are completely wrong. Most of them don't work for what they are labeled for, but they work for other things and are super soft. Definitely a great set!

I just bought the eyemakeup set, and i am in LOVE with it, its PERFECT for beginners like me! :)

That second brush is what I use for blush every day; love it.

Studio 35's mineral brush set for $10 comes with a duo fiber similar to MAC's 187. And the brushes are so soft.

Great review. Eco Tools makes pretty good brushes, I got the retractable one and always have it in my purse, good to have on the go. I also love their blush brush, it works awesome.

I agree completely about the pouch! It deforms the brush a bit! The pouch needs to be wider (and instead they have become smaller; I know because I bought two at least a year apart and have compared). The crease brush from the face set is also great for mineral under-eye concealer. ^_^

Emily if you liked these sets, I suggest you try the eco tools retractable kabuki. It's sooooo soft and gives awesome coverage! :D

Hi Emily, I think what you said is so important, especially for beginners, to use each brush for what works for you to use it for, not necessarily for what the brush says. Everyone has a different eye size and every brush works differently for people. Very good advice! I believe my walmart has ecotools. The big face brushes can be used with any kind of make-up except probably liquid. The eye brushes can be used with liquid or powder make-up. Drugstore or expensive:)

the foundation brush is on clearance at Target for under $3.00. I picked it up even though reviews aren't very good but I thought I would find a use for it.

Have you checked out StudioTools? I have found them at Target. Crease Brush for $2. It works great!!

I have had the first set for a couple months and I love them.. I reach for them as much as my mac and sigma ones!

the alicia silverstone brush set is really good. i got mine at walmart for $16. its a really nice set!!

i think you should definitely try the Eco Tools by Alicia silverstone kit. They were being sold at Target, but I just recently bought mine at Walmart. I bought it for the duo fiber stippling brush.

Emily, I love doefoot brushes. I'm going to try and explain to you how it is supposed to be used. If you know how, you will love it, I promise. So, you are supposed to put the shadow on only half of the brush. The longer part sticking out. Then you turn the brush upside down, so the shorter hairs, point upwards, with the color concentrated on the botom part. then after packing the color in the crease, you do windshield wiper motion and the non powdered part will then blend the color at the

hey emily, you MUST try thier individual "eye shading brush" i use it almost everyday to pack on colour for my lid.... it's really good, and i also use their foundation brush, it's really good as well! :)

I love these brushes!!! The only things I'm not loving, is the fact that they take long to dry once you wash them.

If you can find the 2 brush set of pencil brushes from Urban Tools buy it ! I got mine @ at Lawtons (im in Canada)they have dark red handles and I swear they are so soft and dense the bigger one is an awsome crease and the smaller one is great for tear duct and lower lash line smudging I love them so much I went back and bought 2 more sets just for back up bcause theywere so cheap 2.99 a set I thought they would fall apart but so far i use them everyday and wash them and the are still perfect!

Love the review! I know ecotools makes spas things I have a back brush that you use in the shower its so soft too (: the only brush I have from them so far is the shading brush but I have been thinking of getting the one of the sets for a while

@Alexa3b I use the concealer brush for eye shadows. Cream or not. Its a very good blending brush for the eyes. I also like it for concealer

Sweet I love this brand! I have never seen the 5 piece eye brush set here because there are only two stores where I live in Canada that sell this brand but hopefully I will be getting this set in sometime soon!

I've moved the gigantic brush from the eye set to the face set for highlighter and then replaced it with the brush that comes with the new CoverGirl eyeshadow quads. XD And, yeah, pretty much ignore what they say it is used for. I do too. The shade brush I use to correct and for outer v. I traveled with both of these and it worked splendidly! Ecotools has two full sized brush sets as well as a number of individually sold brushes. I've not tried those. I've also seen ne more small set too.

Got mine recently, been using it for my clients a lot, great brushes for a low price, and best of all their eco friendly.

I love my 6 piece day to night set! It says the brushes are for one thing, but I use the concealer brush as a perfect pencil EYE brush! At 19,99 per Wallgreens, They are SUPER! I am geting the face set at Ulta.com next month and shelving some of my other brushes! They are soft, and good quality!

for the angled crease brush, maybe it would work better if you use the brush sideways and put the tip of the brush on your outer crease and blend inwards maybe it would work better. just a suggestion! :)

I think that you could use the big one for a highlight because in the new Sigma set i got there is a brush just like that for highlight ! Lovee ur vids :)

The bronzer brush is amazing, though I don't use it for bronzer. It's basically a giant kabuki brush on a stick.

I just bought these 2 sets also about a month or two back. That contour brush I use to put bronzer along the sides of my nose... The thing I'm not so happy about... Is those 2 face brushes, the mini kabuki and the all-over face powder one turn out SO oily! No matter how many times I wash it with baby shampoo or brush shampoo from BareMinerals, by the time I touch them when they're dry (with clean hands) they feel all oily :(. When I try using them, the bristles don't spread, they swirl together.

my mineral brush set doesn't come with the envelope style bag, it comes in a case with a zipper and the brushes aren't too badly squished together

I think those 2 awkward eye brushes would would well for the highlight and to set your undereye concealer with powder

That big brush from the eye set you suggested using for setting undereye concealer? That's exactly how I've been using it for a long time:D It works great for it!

I so want this brushes..but its REALLY EXPENSIVE here in Malaysia...for the 1st set its about RM85 and for the 2nd set its around RM95....and you only got it for about USD10! wow what a steal!!

Hi emily great review. Just a sugggestion, I would use the large blending and crease brush as concealer brushes. I believe the eco brushes are real hair . Could you do a review on uses of real and synthetic brushes and pro and cons for both? Thanks :)

I would use the big eye brush (the one you didn't particularly work for you) as a highlight brush. :) That might be a good idea for you!

Have you tried out any of the BH Cosmetics brushes? I've heard they're pretty good but they're 10-piece set costs like $40 and as a student I don't really want to spend that much on brushes although if you divide it out...it seems like a pretty good deal. But if you have them or have tried them, can you do a review on them? I love your reviews! They're so helpful :)

I enjoy these brushes. There like this flat shadow brush I've been using from them to pack on color but also contour a bit and I love love love it.

Do you think any of those brushes would be good for cream eyeshadows? e.g. Benefits creaseless cream shadows? Thanks Ellie
