YEEEEEEEAAAAYYY!! A NEW AWESOME VIDEO FROM GARRET! Those subs are so overbuilt for what they are if you ask me, i've heard a few in person, but not these particular models. The ones i've heard thouh sounded great! I'm not a fan of plate amps or powered speakers in general, I just don't like it, you have to use 2 wires to each speaker, one power and one signal, it's a lot more mess, and I don't think a class D amp has a chance against a true class H or AB amp. But if I had to use powered speakers for a small gig, and I could choose whatever equipment I would like, I would definally select the subs you showed in the video. Because I know EV makes GREAT stuff! /DennisTheMeerkat

I have a pair of ELX118P subwoofers, but getting tired of carrying them around. I wonder how much sound difference there would be if I picked up a used pair of these and sold my 18's. I think they both have a 700w rating.

wow 2 vids in a time span of less than a month.

There are already 12" PA Subs which can handle 1000+ watts. Peak is by the way mostly 4 times greater then the rms power. For example RMS/PROGRAM/PEAK: 1000/2000/4000 but it doesnt say anything, especially when you use them for electronic music.

Have you ever tested Earthquake woofers? Id really like to see an Earthquake DBXI woofer blow in your chanel!

Hey everyone, need some guidance. I would like to have a sub to help monitor low frequencies in my productions. I purchased the Electro-Voice ZXA1-Sub 12" Powered Subwoofer initially for DJing private events and was wondering if this sub is appropriate for production purposes. I have a pair of KRK Rokit 8's and was wondering how anyone sets the cutoff frequency so that the sub just handles the sub frequencies and sends the rest to the KRKs. I have completely muted the sub to see what frequencies the monitors were still processing and the KRKs were still putting out bass frequencies. I understand the sub might not even be appropriate in this setting but wanted to provide you all with what I have already attempted. Thank you.

A "gamechanger"? They are pretty nice, but they cant outwit physics. Did you ever compare them Outdoor? 700 watts are pretty normal for a 12 inch these days. Most can handle even 800-1000 watts. Anyways im pretty sure that the 700 watts are peak when i look at the driver.. btw: The 100 hz cut is too low if you use them will small top speakers

cool review garrett, do more like this if you can. im into ev amplification, but for speakers, i try and stick with jbl, and yamaha amplification. check my youtube channel for some pretty wild vids to see what im workin with. its a little sloppy setup, but for what im doing, it really gets the job done. hope youre doin well man, be blessed!

eh, that scooped port though. on such a tiny box, the port freq must be something like 50-85hz. i mean cool, a tiny light box thats got the amp all built in. but i cant imagine it sounds very good as an actual subwoofer, more to reinforce shitty mains.
