What makes the 805 the best choice?
A meter -- not a pen -- that measures overall vibration as well as specific variables like bearing condition and temperature, to provide a more complete picture.

What is Crest Factor+?
Crest Factor+ is a new proprietary algorithm (or technology) that takes the confusion out of bearing assessment. The original Crest Factor is used by vibration analysts to identify bearing faults. It is defined as the ratio of the peak value/RMS value of a time domain vibration signal.
A key limitation of the original Crest Factor algorithm is that it does not increase linearly as the bearing degrades, making it very difficult to determine the severity of mechanical issues. In fact, the Crest Factor can actually decrease as a bearing nears catastrophic failure due to large RMS values.
In order to overcome this limitation, Fluke uses a proprietary algorithm known as Crest Factor+ (CF+). CF+ values range from 1 to 16. As the bearing condition worsens, the CF+ value increases, ensuring the user is easily able to recognize the severity of the problem. To make things even simpler, Fluke has also included a four-level severity scale that identifies the bearing health as Good, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory or Unacceptable.

how do you know which setting to set it on when taking measurements, as far as the g's or something else

Great for establishing base line race engine overall harmonics then comparing later after several pull on a dyno to make sure nothing has changed.

The backlight is virtually not existing. I even called the fluke-support, to ask if it had to be activated in some menu first, but then found while testing it in the cellar that it worked. It just offers not more light than 5% of a smart-phone display-light or 50% of an older nokia-phone backlight as a standard. So the device itself is great, just the light is a joke - only helpful when you often measure on coal-mining-motors and you forgot to bring your torch... : )

HELLO, MY FLUKE 805 SAY IN SCREEN WHEN I TRY TO TURN ON "RTC COIN CELL IS DRAINED OR NOT MOUNTED, TURNING OF THE DEVICE..." I CHANGE THE BATTERIES "AA" BUT SAYS THE SAME LEGEND

Большей дряни, чем этот прибор, я еще не видел. При стоимости 130т.р. это дерьмо сломалось через пол года эксплуатации. Внутри обломился проводник от датчика прижима. Пропаять не выйдет. Плюс ко всему жрал батарейки как бык помои. А когда мы ставили туда пальчиковые аккумуляторы отказывался делать больше 10-15 измерений подряд. Потому что он расчитан на работу от батареек 1,5 вольта, а пальчиковые аккумуляторы выпускают только на напряжение 1,2. Страшно неудобно подлазить и упираться этим толстым прибором в труднодоступные места. Это только в рекламе показывают, что держать его нужно тремя пальцами, в реальности в него нужно давить с усилием килограмм 7-10. А если вы это делаете вытянутой рукой??? А выносной датчик к нему стоит как ещё один такой прибор. И не думайте, что это брак одного прибора, у нас на предприятие закупили их 5 штук, 3 уже сломались не отработав и года. Низкий поклон инженерам фирмы флюк за про@@@@@ные нами деньги и ежедневные маты во время обходов. Место этому прибору в помойке.
