This is a requested video. :) In this video, I share what I love about this bag as well as a couple of things that I feel are shortcomings. I also do a brief what's in my bag segment. I purchased this bag last year as I wanted to add a black structured bag to my collection. I hope you find this review helpful!
Note: I've heard the name of this bag pronounced "an-tig-oh-na" and "anti-goh-na" - not sure of the correct pronunciation but I use the former because it reminds me of the name Antigone from Greek mythology. :)

thank you very much! one viewer mentioned that they have changed the bag a little (the strap is now longer and detachable) so the updated version might have a slightly different look than the one i showed in this video.

I have this in the small silver studded version and I absolutely love it! For some reason the straps on mine are about an inch longer (I compared them in the store) so luckily don't have the issue with the handles digging into my armpits. Great review in any case!

you should get it! it's my favourite bag although like she said, it nearly stopped me from buying. the handles honestly isn't that much of a bother. also, you should consider getting the calfskin version as i feel like it is more durable than the goatskin version, i can't see any of the cons she mentions in the video regarding the tugging/pulling/sagging (except for the handle strap hitting the armpits) on my calfskin bag.

I have this bag too, same color and size. It's fun to hear your take on it! I literally have the same opinion on the cons, but it just wouldn't be the same look if the handles flipped down. I often consider whether Givenchy put the stiff handles and the slightly too short strap to have people only carry it in hand/the elbow crook, and the strap is just there to add some dimension and hardware. One con for me is that the triangular prism on the strap is really pointy and it pokes me when it's over the shoulder (more evidence for my theory).

Great review! I always love watching your videos and I think you sold me on purchasing this in the mini size with the silver hardware. I was trying to find it in the smooth calfskin with gold.. But it is nowhere to be found. I like that the silver makes it look understated. Glad I watched your review!

I know you have quite a few handbags but this is honestly the one that every time I see it in a vlog I think how much I love it, so it was great to see this review. I really hate overly branded things, so I love how subtle the branding is on this (it's also why I bought my Fossil and Rebecca Minkoff bags). I'm a student and this is not something I'd spurge on with my budget since I generally save up my money for travel (or camera, laptop) instead BUT maybe someday it will be something I can consider. For now I will lust from afar...and maybe look into finding a more affordable knockoff? Haha I have only owned two purses but I am so rough on my bags I feel like I would destroy a pricey one with every day use...

when i was in school, even $100 was unthinkable for me to spend on a bag... but after i graduated from school, i started buying incrementally more expensive bags and my "sticker shock" gradually adjusted higher and higher. it got to the point where i would only buy designer bags and the cost added up so quickly. i'm happy i'm out of the phase when i was constantly lusting after a new designer bag. it's like i was never happy with what i had. i now like having a mix of high end and inexpensive bags... some of my favourites are vintage purses that only cost $20 or $30. plus now that i'm decluttering, i'm learning to let go and not want more and more. the good thing about designer bags is they really are very well made for the most part. i don't tend to baby my bags, and even after using some every day for a year or more, the wear and tear isn't too significant. :)

petitepearstyle it's true, and I mean, I think quality over quantity is super important, especially with the decluttering, better to have a few, great quality bags that you love and that last instead of a bunch of ones that are going to fall apart. I'm really wanting another Rebecca Minkoff bag but I'm holding off for a sale/a few more months being thrifty after a very expensive 2014! that said, i do find my first one is starting to show it's wear, and i'm not quite sure to do with my fossil bag...even my boyfriend has commented that it is in rough shape haha.

Such a great video...Im a huge fan of the Givenchy Antigona...just kind of reluctant to get it because all the cons you mentions are my pet peeves for any bag. (Which is why I prefer lv 😏)have a question, where did you get the little purple change purse featured in the video? I think it's adorable. Lol

kelli loves3 thank you so much! i think the mini crossbody antigona is great... i was actually looking at it too when i bought the small and had a hard time deciding. ultimately, i wanted a bit of a bigger bag plus i had a roomy-ish structured black bag on my list so i ended up buying the small. i also loved how the small looked worn in the crook of the arm! :)

i am looking to purchase a goatskin version of this bag, which is what you have and i do own one in the shiny calfskin leather. in that leather, i don't find that things poke out of it like you mentioned, probably because the leather is thicker than the goatskin version :)

i don't really do anything to mine - i store it in the dustbag and i wipe it with a soft, slightly damp towel if i get anything on it. i've worn mine out in wet weather with no issues but it might be different with red...

do you mean the tag inside the bag below the interior zippered pocket? if so, it says "givenchy" and below that "made in italy" - let me know if you meant something else.

+Maleeva Lee i think it comes down to personal preference. i prefer the grained goat skin because i love matte, pebbled leather. i felt that the smooth calf skin would be more prone to scratches and such but viewers who have this version have indicated that it is very durable.

only the pebble grain will lose it shape in that manner. the smooth skin is a little less prone to sagging or poking out

if you google images of this bag, there are quite a few with the smooth calfskin that also show warping or contents bulging out... i feel it's even more noticeable with the smooth leather since the shiny surface is disrupted...

petitepearstyle i have the smooth calfskin version... i assure you its more structured and hard than the pebble grain... the pebble grain goatskin is much softer. it loses its shape alot easier therefor.
