Love your review! Thank you for taking the time. I've got a similar Govee arriving tomorrow and am more excited about a kettle than I should be. I've recently become interested in pour over & learning more about coffee and I'm just excited to try it out. It was suprised to find that most kettles would auto-Off once the water boiled. Another feature that was lacking with most is a keep warm & scheudle on functionality. Using Google assistant, I'll be able to set a mode & routine to have my water start heating to 200F once I turn off my alarm in the morning. It seems really well thought out. How are you enjoying it after having used it for a while now?
Thank you! We love the Govee and use it almost every day to make pour over. Especially the hold feature so the water stays hot and ready to go when we are. The automation capabilities are neat but after so long we usually just turn it on when we are ready. I’m sure you are going to love it!
What happens when you unplug this for a while, and then plug it back in. Does it automatically connect to the app and remember the diy temperatures or do you have to set things back up again? Also, does the auto reheat function work when you pick up the kettle and put it back on the base, if it's in diy mode?
If you unplug and plug it back in, it keeps the DIY temperature you set in the app. It basically remember le the last DIY temp you set, whether in the app or using Alexa. I’m not sure I understand the second part of your question? I know if I have it set to “hold” and pour some out, it keeps the rest warm. I do this a lot when I’m making pour over.
I’m surprised…when I lived in the UK all I wanted was a regular coffee maker and all I could find were electric kettles! Have you looked at Smarter? They have an iKettle that looks good.
@@Appmyhome True, there are a ton of "smart" kettles - some of which you can even integrate with Home Assistant, but none of them with a gooseneck unfortunately. This is why the Govee stands out.
Quite a terrible review, no mention of how long it takes to come up to temperature, how the spout pours, in depth opinion on how it feels when you're pouring it. You just talked about features already listed on Amazon which anyone could look at
It works great every morning when we make a pour over coffee. The design of the spout makes this an easy task. It also heats up very fast and maintains the temperature if you still have water in it, or until you turn off the unit. Basically it's easy to use and a pleasure to pour from. Do you have a favorite kettle?
