In this video, I will do a review and also show you how to install the Whirlpool WHER25 reverse osmosis system. I've tried the Berkey filter system and Ebay water distiller. But each has its own limit. I spend close to $600/year buying fresh drinking water. There's got to be a better way! Is this the one? Let's find out!
Here's the link to the video of my water distiller review: • Review: $60 Ebay water...

Wells in US are pumped using electric pumps to elevated water tank high on hill or pressure tank (like your white one but for several hundred gallons) to keep constant pressure of about 70 PSI. Reverse Osmosis works great with wells, even better than city water since pressure is better regulated and not over/under pressured depending on your house elevation and neighbors water use.

Excellent video, dude. Whirlpool should hire you for their ads. The simple things that you mentioned were so helpful, like adding more air pressure to the tank. Most people would never know what to do. Thanks for the video.

I would connect a full house water softener and then hook up the filter. You have to buy salt, but it's cheap. It'll extend the time between filter changes. My filter system has a reverse flow to flush the filters and you only have to replace them once every few years.

Thank you for the explanation at the end of what each tube does. Extremely helpful because now I know that the blue tubing I can adapt into my refrigerator line.

Reverse Osmosis filtration systems are good but they remove all the minerals from the water. all the minerals that are good for you. so make sure you compensating for the lack of minerals in your diet. you can get water filters that add minerals back to water tho. Reverse Osmosis filtration systems also wast lots of water adding a pump can save water as higher the pressure the better it works. I live in uk so dont need a filtration system as our tap water is very clean. But I have a filtration system on my allotment garden using rainwater for my chickens but I use a ceramic filter that dont not waste water. I did try Reverse Osmosis setup with rainwater but I added the wast water from RO back to the water source tank (rainwater) to save the water and it did work but was to slow for my needs. you need a good pump to do this well. from time to time you will need to change the water in rain water tank.

Definitely a great alternative to distillation in terms of volume. I'm looking into getting something like this for use in cooking etc. I'll always have distillers running as the drinking water source though. Unfortunately nothing else in the manmade realm beats the purity of distillation.

Best explanation of the system! Thank you keep up the good work.

Have you boiled down a gallon of the reverse osmosis water to see if impurities are leftover like in your picture below of your distilled water?
@vuaeco
@vuaeco 4 года назад
not yet but that's a great idea to find out if it's really pure. I did it with the water I bought from the water store and it was absolutely clean after I boiled down one gallon. It was originally 5 ppm tested on my TDS meter. So this R.O. water at 9 ppm would probably be as clean. But I will still do the test in my follow up video.

Why are there no hose clamps on red pipe under tap ? 70psi will blow that pipe off in time

What do i do if i have cloudy water coming out?
@MyIronman8
@MyIronman8 4 года назад
I would have made it where it goes through 1 filter then it goes through another filter and then goes to the other filter then comes out . And then you don't need that storage container
@vuaeco
@vuaeco 4 года назад
The reason for the storage container is to have a higher flow rate at the faucet. Without the tank, your faucet will flow like you saw in the video at 2 gallons/hour.
@pezjme
@pezjme 4 года назад
The storage tank has an adjustable air bladder in it so you can use it even if your water is shut off. And the water fills the tank automatically, so the tank is always full.

Isn't rainwater distilled water? I thought it is safe to drink.
@vuaeco

It is, if you live far away from air pollution. If you live in New York or Los Angeles, drinking rain water will give you cancer very quickly.

Rawr. Need one of these for our condo. Whats the difference with this unit and those with 5 or 10 stages?
@rndmfella1874
@rndmfella1874 4 года назад
Different sediment filters to make the water 1. Taste better 2. Be better 3. Help make sure you don't die from Hemolysis that can happen when you consume destilled/RO water. Some multi stages setups may include a uv-filtration that kills germs.

The pressure out of it doesn't look good at all. Do you know if it removes lead & other toxic metals from the water? Remember the Flint water crisis....
@vuaeco
@vuaeco 4 года назад
It does remove heavy metals. The osmosis membrane only lets water though.
@shark92651
@shark92651 3 года назад
The pressure doesn't look good in the video because the tank is empty. Close the faucet and once the tank is full, the pressure is much better but keep in mind the tank only holds about 3 gallons and then it needs a couple hours to re-fill.

So what was the ppm?
@rndmfella1874
@rndmfella1874 4 года назад
It will end up close to 0ppm. But it's stupid to drink 0ppm water. It's only used for example "battery water", steam ironing, humidifyers, or diluting solutions. It is not safe to drink and can cause death by hemolysis or anemia due to the osmosis of the red blood cells. Destilled/RO water and the consumption of it causes a high osmosis that can cause the cell walls to collapse.

@@rndmfella1874 No it doesn't lmao
@shark92651
@shark92651 3 года назад
@@rndmfella1874 Maybe, if you ONLY drink distilled/RO water and don't eat food. The amount of minerals one gets from their drinking water is pretty small compared to what you get from your balanced diet. People that sell alternatives to RO water systems spout this nonsense to scare people.
