I am super impressed with your videos. I just found your channel and it is the type of info I look for, comparing equipment with opinions based on your experience. I am not in the land management business, yet. Just studying products and businesses so far. I would like to hear your opinions on the different types of mulching heads and brands. Thank you and keep the great videos coming!

good honest review. On a side note, I couldn't help notice the 2 strokes noise in the background...sweet music to my ears!

Thanks for posting the video a lot of good information. Have you had any experience with the Takeuchi for mulching?

I don’t, but planning to partner with someone who does here pretty soon to make that video.

Should’ve got the forestry package
@dirttraxx
@dirttraxx 2 месяца назад
Forestry package is alright on the Deere, but not really that helpful other than the guard for the hydraulic quick connects. Would’ve liked to see a few slight performance upgrades on the forestry package

Yeah, I was just looking at the brand new one forestry John Deere trying to decide on which loader I should spend $160,000 on

There won't be any comparison to a Takeuchi after you have operated one

I am looking to get my feet wet in this skid steer business. I am normally off on average 4 months a year and I would like to start a side business that could potentially go full time. I can run equipment, I am no stranger to that. Would it be safe to buy a 75 horse machine with the high flow set up for mulching? Although I don't think it will be mulching full time, I will do just about anything with it to get work dirt work, mowing, building fences "post hole digger", etc. Thanks in advance

I would absolutely avoid the 75hp market. One reason is it waves a big flag that says “I only do this part time” so that’s worth considering when trying to land jobs. Also once you’ve run a 100hp+ skid for very long, you’ll even wish it was bigger. Most important reason though is that while the full size skids weren’t made for mulching typically, the 75 certainly weren’t made for it no matter what your dealer says and it will majorly stress the cooling system. I’ve seen people with more reliability issues with the smaller machines as well.

I think it depends on where you are. In Florida I see many people with 75 HP units and do fine. If you're doing small soft wood it seems like 75 HP works but I am sure 100+ Hp is always better but i guess you should probably consult with some of them if you are near Florida

Any idea on what the part # is for the front coupler guard? Our JD dealer has no clue here.

Decent machine, but not as good on paper or in reality in my opinion. It does have some things better than a Deere for sure but not on the whole. But hey, it’s all about personal preferences once you stop comparing on paper so that’s all fine!

Yea, thanks for the video. It made my mind up. Not buying a John Deere! Just not worth the money in our opinion!
