I am interested in doing Griff Hamlin's course "Blues Guitar Unleashed". I bought this course ($167) but found it to be a little bit advanced so I decided to first do his "Beginning Blues Guitar" ($67) course which is conceived as the necessary prerequisite for BGU but have not finished that one yet either. Griff's RU-vid channel 'Blues Guitar Unleashed' provides lots of great free lessons as well which has helped me a lot. My focus right now however is learning songs from Justin's songbooks but I will get back to these courses eventually.
Please review Brandon D'eon 's Course which costs around 1000 dollars but I don't find any reviews. He he speaks very highly of his course and I am intrigued. I am torn between that and Paul David's courses.

I wouldn't say that. Paul, Tomo, Tim, Uncle Ben and others. But he's certainly the best organized and most consistently reliable/correct for total beginners.
What I totally love about Justin (learning through his course at the moment) is his motivational ability. He always encourages one to accept mistakes and not let them block you from making progress.

I totally agree with you. To be fair, I haven't seen the others but I don't have to. I'm okay with Justin. Got my acoustic on the 27th of July and I am so happy I found him. The practice sessions with the video assistant are amazing. It really is like having a tutor with you. I love him!
One thing I found very useful in Justin course was his teaching on timing & strumming patterns. So overlooked by beginners and so important to sound good. I completely recommend it.
i am 3 weeks into JustinGuitar and have been blown away by the quality of his instruction. He is a gifted teacher. I intend to donate after completion of each Grade (now the beginner course is grades 1-3, intermediate course is grades 4-6, and advanced is grade 7). ive watched some Paul videos on youtube and he seems good too, but i believed it would be hard for anyone to beat the quality of Justin's training. I owned a music school for 15 years. I've watched Justin pretty much since the beginning and I've watched Paul as well. Never investigated their sites or courses and this may sound untrue (I hope not elitist,) but I could tell from their regular videos that Justin would be the more accessible (not easier-nothing worthwhile is easy.) The reason being is that Justin is like the guy singing and playing in the bar, while Paul is more of the studio-type guy. Both have value. Justin thinks and communicates like a cover band guy: song based learning. Paul is more abstract. Less people are going to be able to connect with that. Paul's teaching you everything that goes into making a car. Justin says "drive" and along the way points out what the gear box does.
Agreed. Although PD is an obviously brilliant artist, I gather from his vernacular that he may be too far removed from my beginner level, for me to connect to. He's more like a highly desirable but unattainable God-tier.
I'm actually doing both courses simultaneously. They're quite different and therefore I find them complementary. Paul's course is expensive but I bought it hoping that I'll be introduced into the world of the guitar in a really comprehensive and structured way. My long term goal is to be able to improvise, solo, write songs and experiment with sound (I have an electric guitar). For me popular songs are just steps on the journey but I'm not learning with just the intention to play songs that already exist. My dream is to be free and fluent with the guitar. I've been doing both courses for only a week (although I've known Paul's channel for much longer). I'm enjoying both of them. The approach and focus is definitely different and I totally have to admit that Justin has WAY more material and resources and I absolutely appreciate his communication skills as a teacher.
One more thing just came to my mind. It seems so obvious that the high priced course which offers a lot less content is a rip off. Well, there's one factor that people usually don't take into consideration. Devotion! If you pay nearly 200$ for a course, it's much more likely that you'll be devoted to working on it in a consistent and engaged basis. It's as if you were paying for your motivation. Of course the main reason, the main motivation is not in the fact of paying for the course. It's just an extra incentive in case you feel like giving up.
Justin has tons of lessons on developing solos and your own sound within the blues course. I play my own music all the time. I wouldn't say Paul has the upper hand there. I think Justin is the winner in all the categories
I am currently learning with Justin and am very happy with his lessons. Just a thought on the price: That Justin offers his lessons for free is fantastic for people who cannot afford to pay. I gladly pay for the app and also for his free lessons. As for the price of Paul's lessons, I feel that 200$ for lifetime access is not excessive. Imagine what you would have to pay for one-to-one lessons with a teacher, at least here in Switzerland one lesson of 45 minutes costs approximately 75$.

This is actually what I want to start doing now, have gone through some of Justin’s youtube vids a year or so ago but stopped. Huge fan of Paul’s music, style, and taste in pedals so see the value for me through his way of teaching and music but Justin’s foundations seem so on point so they could compliment each other for me is what I am thinking.
After not having played the guitar for many years, my husband gifted me guitar a few months ago. I discovered Justin guitar by chance and I love both the beginner course and the music theory lessons. It is structured and easy to follow. The app is awesome too! I have since made my first ever cover because of his lessons!
I did Justin's beginner course, but I paid for the content and so got extra material. If you can afford it, you should pay the man, or at least buy his apps or songbooks. I learned the fret board quickly from games on his app. Half hour live lessons are $25 per half hour around here, so either course is a bargain. Many of Justin's song lessons start out at beginner, but he often offers more sophisticated "twiddly bits" toward the end to challenge intermediate players like me.
I started with Justins course in April of 2019 and finished the beginners course in 5 or so months, though I will admit that I wasn't a good student, since I couldn't stand ear training and kinda skipped those 😬 Don't judge me. Halfway through his intermediate course I simultaneously started following his blues guitar course and my progression has slowed because of that, if you only count the rate at which I finish the course. As someone who never was a good student in school, always cut corners and always had a problem with teachers, it's been surprisingly easy to follow his instructions for me (mostly) and to just keep practicing. He's friendly, approachable and persuasive. One of the reasons why I never had any drive in school was because teachers would never bother to explain why I should know algebra or trigonometry. Justin has a way of making you want to follow the course and to become better. He's great
Justin is the guy for the begginer. I'd recommend Justin's free course for 3-6 months before picking Paul's or Justin's. Paul is great really inspired me to practice finger style more though.
I'm using Justin's beginner course at the moment, but saw Paul's Travis Picking Pattern video, and actually started training that in parallel now, since I really loved it.
The bottom line is that both of these guys seem to be equally charming and nice. Also, as mentioned in some other comments, the two actually seem to compliment each other. They are both excellent resources. I’d definitely subscribe to both channels ASAP.
What I like about how Justin’s lessons and song lessons are laid out is that it’s really easy to find a song that’s got something I’m trying to tighten up to make practice more fun. For example, recently I was trying to tighten up my basic open chords and I very easily found a song that incorporated almost all of them. So not only am I better at transitioning to all those chords but I tightened up my strumming and learned a new song over the course of several hours which I really enjoyed.
First off, let me say THANK YOU for providing all this great information! I'm 58 years old and visually impaired. However, I've been playing the ukulele for a couple years, and after playing the baritone ukulele (tuned DGBE), my lifelong desire to play guitar really came to life! So, I bought an acoustic guitar, and started to practice with Bernadette on RU-vid (I started my ukulele training with her. ) I may finish her 30 Day Guitar Challenge course, but I really feel like I need something more detailed, structured, and that will systematically move me towards being a decent guitar player. It sounds like Justin's course might be just the ticket! I found your RU-vid channel after watching Paul's promo video about his course, where I almost took the $199 plunge. Your review has really helped educate me on what's available, and so I think Paul's course might be better for me down the road a bit. I actually finished with Justin's course a while ago and think about diving into Pauls as a complement. I feel like I learned a lot about chords and the important basics of guitar from Justin, but after entering the intermediate courses I struggle, because the learning curve gets steeper as you enter Blues Guitar. And my problem is that he teaches most soloing techniques with Blues, but I am just not that interested in blues that I want to finish 2-3 Blues modules in a row to progress. What Paul does in his course sounds exactly to what I missed. So in a sense both courses together might be perfect ;) But also I think it is generally not a bad thing to work on your basics and repeat them, because it makes your foundation more solid (I actually revisited some of Justins modules a few times).
I love Justin Guitar app, lot of tools to help a begginer lacking of talent like me, and I am already playing along with his tutorías and many songs 🥳 love it, love it, love it.
I have been working on a few more songs at the moment. Do you work on more than one song every time you sit down to practice? At the moment I have two songs that I work on. Both of them challenge me which is great but sometimes I want to just play something easy. How do you manage the difficulties of learning songs above your current ability / skill set?
@@MidlifeGuitar sometimes I work on multiple songs at once. Mostly, I choose a song I'm really interested and spend a couple hours every day learning it. I see fairly rapid progress doing this. For the tougher songs I learn in smaller chunks generally over a couple months. For the songs above my current ability I'll practice chord changes.
Thanks for your review, it's always pleasant to find fellow guitarists sharing their experience during the so called "learning process" (a lifetime process, cause I can't imagine a musician saying "ok, I'm done. There's nothing more I can learn" 😁). Having said that, I'd like to point out that Justin's method is, as you correctly say, a good starting point for absolute newbies. But in my case, I was the other kind of learner that you mention. I was able to play up to an extent but my disorganised method (almost no method) made me nail some fairly hard pieces and then struggle to play certain chords. Until one day that I was looking for some song's tutorial I found Justin and he immediately gave me the impression of being a well organised and straight forward teacher, just what I needed. When I saw the amount of free stuff he offered on his site, I decided to start from scratch and now, 2 years later, I can play much better, very clean, with more "groove"... I owe him all that and I still keep progressing through his learning path. The only thing I haven't learnt from him was to shred, but that's not my thing. He is making me play the way I want and I'm super grateful for that. I bought his books, and some of his apps, but his help saved me the amount of money that I couldn't/didn't want to spend in lessons that surely would have ended up in me not playing any longer. So I know that my opinion is really, really biased but I take advantage to praise Justin whenever the opportunity arises. Really worthwhile upload. I saw your progress video and it's clear you have made the journey from beginner to much better. This uoload gives those interested in a course somd valuable information.
I really like Paul and his channel; I did his beginner course but think I probably should have done the intermediate course. Not because I am really intermediate but I knew most of what was in his beginner course. My technique is terrible but his course didn't help to fix that. I have also done a lot of Justin's lessons which I also like. His song tutorials are usually very detailed which I really appreciate. I think I will work through the whole of Justin’s course over the next few months. Pauls course is good but $199 is too much it should be $99 or at least give you a discount if you went on to purchase the intermediate course.
Taking Justine’s beginner course now and it is perfect for me. Looked at the other course and was out off by the cost, lack of songs and felt that as a rank beginner it was too much for me.
I have been avoiding those for a while 😂 Mainly because so many people push them as 'the' course to take and I'm over it. I want to play through some more courses so that when I actually come to review them I can give an honest answer based on a broad range of experience.
To be fair, I learned almost entirely on jamplay back in the day, and got good enough to get into music school after just a few years using their site. I think the trick with them is that you have to stay focused and choose one teacher and stick with them until you finish their lesson set, and then go on to the next lesson set, or to another teacher. They have SO MUCH content these days that it is easy to lose focus.
Worship Music Academy ($37.00) teaches you chords and gives you practice moving from chord to chord (with a metronome). It also gives you a list of 25 contemporary worship songs for you to practice. It has lessons broken down into 30 minutes a day of practice. This isn't all the course, I've only been doing it for about two weeks (about 10 lessons, or so)!
I keep seeing 3 ads in particular for music is win's course, ' breakthrough guitar ', and ' guitar mastery ' I think they're called. They each have RU-vid channels too. It would be great if you could compare those to these courses as well.
Always remember, guitar playing is not a competition, it is a passion. Practice it without thinking who sounds better than you or if people will like it. You are the guitar!! Enjoy it for the enrichment it will always give to your life!!
Outstanding & objective video. Thx. I’ve enjoyed following your journey as I just restarted 2 mos ago after a 30 year hiatus. Was having trouble with structure and productive practice lessons, whilst going down rabbit holes of learning lots of fun stuff. Looked at both courses and settled on JustinGuitar. Fantastic decision, as he has the right blend of very beginner materials but good structured practice sessions to reinforce fundamentals and speed up advancement.
Full disclosure, I have done Justin's course but I must rely on your excellent review of Paul's course for comparing them. I think the Justin Guitar course is the clear winner here based not just on cost but the extensive content and maturity gained from years of refinement - including a recent newly updated version that I have not seen yet. A non-free course that I really benefited from was Dave Isaac's beginner course on JamPlay which cost me about $150 for a year and included access to many other courses. I do not see much value by the way in "Lifetime Access" to a beginner level course! I hope to have moved beyond that level early in my lifetime. Maybe Paul's Next Level Playing course will be of more value - looking forward to your review (if you choose to try it).
Paul's courses seem to assume you are at a certain level of playing. I think Paul is an awesome guitar player, but for me, Justin's stuff is more comprehensive and more geared towards building a solid foundation which enables you to move to more advanced stuff with confidence. And yea, the Lifetime Access to a beginner's course seems a bit weird! :)
@@AcidicDelusion I found it worthwhile just for Dave Isaac's courses but I have also benefited from several other teachers. It is likely that GuitarTricks offers just as much variety of instruction - I considered them as well but went with JamPlay. I like having more than one teacher to explore. They also offer discounts and special packages regularly to encourage you to renew. For value for the dollar however, you can't beat Justin Guitar.
I’m in Paul’s LPP now and it is really helpful to me. I like it in that it’s ’holding my hand’ through what he’s got for me to learn so there’s little chance of me getting sidetracked and hitting a dead end. I’ve added Justin’s course too and am kind of switching back and forth - a lesson or two from Justin, one or two from Paul. Both very helpful. That said, if I had to only keep one it’d be Justin’s just for the amount of content. That’s my two cents at least. Hard to go far wrong with either. Great review! Thank you.

I like Justin and have donated on a few occasions - he's an excellent teacher and communicates well. Davids and another similar RU-vidr Mary Spender are ok but it's just too slick and 'lifestyle' - I guess they will sit well with the hipsters but I find them hard to watch after 5 minutes. I also really like Ben Eller and Adrian on 'Anyone Can Play Guitar'

I think the fact Justin has gone about teaching himself guitar with his left hand to better understand things from a beginner's perspective is amazing and I feel helped refine the course it's also free which I think is why everyone should do it when starting out, I think also it's important to not just stick to only what's being shown in a module you, of course, gotta practice stuff in it but you can also if you are feeling up to it branch a little outside of it and find things you want to learn now or even on youtube or in his other grades
I’m currently using Justin’s course it’s great I’m at the end of grade 1 and I won’t be moving on till I have met his passing requirements memorize 5 songs and play at least one of them in front of at least one person I also plan on making sure I improve on my chord changes
Thanks for the review. I was thinking of doing Paul David’s course, but the cost was a bit too much for me. I’m trialing the Justin Guitar app, which is about $109 per year or about AUD $15 per month. I think Justin’s course is good for the total beginner. I’m an intermediate beginner. I can change chords and can do bar chords, but need to go back and build up a good foundation for going up to the next level (fingerpicking & soloing, getting to know the fretboard. I’ve been following Paul Davids and like his material, but I think he is aiming at the intermediate level guitar player.
My favorite courses are the ones from Your Guitar Academy. I found them much more organized than Justin's. The courses are paid, but the video lessons are on YT for free.
JUSTIN GUITAR = LAYING THE RIGHT MUSICAL FOUNDATION. I prefer Justin's guitar lessons over any other online/offline guitar teacher. Justin is super encouraging and he relates very well with his audience. Justin offers so much knowledge for free which should be an inspiration for numerous other guitar teachers on RU-vid. I find Paul a bit pretentious when it comes to complete beginners. Thank you for this video! :)
I have recently "joined" Justin's course and i have to say he's better than the real life teacher i had donkey's years ago (I'm 60 years old and started first when i was like 18 but lost interest then) I have seen a few of Paul's videos as well but i will stick to Justin i think. Now that doesn't mean i won't watch (and learn) from other's videos as well, but for my main learning i will go Justin. Cheers!
Paul's course IMHO falls short on technique and context. For instance, in module 4 lesson 5 he introduces the C major scale without open strings in 7th position. Good, now we know the scale, what do we do with it? No context, no motivation. Then in the advanced exercise, i.e. playing the major scale in 3rds, different fingerings are used both ascending and descending, both non-standard compared to the fingers normally used in 7th position as ha actually recommends. This is because you have to play the 10th string on G and B strings after another. Paul does not say a single word about this. Justin uses different fingerings (finger roll) and explains precisely his approach. Much better.
I remember of a guitar teacher online. He said 'are you ready to spend hours every day playing and learning the guitar'? I'm French. I'm not sure of the spelling but I'm sure of the meaning. If anyone of you knows what online guitar school is about, please let me know. Thank you.

Nice video comparison. I’m still working my way through Justin’s program mostly using the app. I’m on the dreaded F chord section. And still trying to get my chord changes up. For some reason the “D chord” is also a pain for me. I think Justin’s course (at least where I’m at) is more geared towards acoustic vs. electric. I’m on a electric and while I like to learn strumming... I’d also like an electric guitar focused program. I have been half-way working through Fender Play’s program. I got it free for a while and that’s the only reason I’m trying it. It’s hard dividing my time between Justin and Fender though. But I wonder if there’s some other “structured” electric guitar program out there.... Lots to learn and it all takes a while. Fun though. No pressure ever, just enjoyment! Cheers!!
Thanks Ryan, I'm glad to hear your progressing and those barre chords are a tricky beast, keeping working at it, you will get there! I think you are right about Justin's course in that it does seem to have a heavy acoustic bias with open chord strumming and not much related to learning licks, solos and mainly electric guitar techniques. I will keep looking for a dedicated electric guitar course for beginners but a lot of them tend to focus on acoustic.
It sounds like you might be interested in Andy Guitar’s electric starter course. I’ve not used it myself so I can’t give a personal review, but I’ve followed Andy’s other videos before and he’s a fantastic teacher. The starter course is £15 and I think he has some other electric guitar courses that follow on from that one. Hope this helps!
I feel the same way with Justin's course. I took lessons on an acoustic a while back but the only thing I remember is the chords. So I don't need to relearn those and I feel like Justin's course so far is all chords. I have an electric now and would like to learn riffs and lead guitar parts which means I need to work on learning the fretboard and finger dexterity. I'm not sure if that gets covered in later Justin lessons, but I hope it does because his first few beginner modules aren't geared towards electric playing.
Since Justin’s is free, just get both! Best of both worlds! You can get that open chord and ear training practice and learn some popular songs from Justin’s course, while you practice the more creative and theory type stuff from Paul’s course.
This and your review of Paul's lesson, I think is very fair. I completed Paul's course a few months ago from an absolute beginner but was a Paul fan already. I learn independently and don't like hand holding so though I took the risk (not really even knowing about Justin at the time) I really enjoyed the course. At first, I was a bit surprised by how short the videos were (that's it?) but over time, I referred back when I needed to and kept practicing. Each module I would go from "no way" to "I did it" by the end of the module. Not always too cleanly but enough to mark it as an accomplishment. I think this strategy is better for me as it forces me to want the lesson. I also got a fair deal lately on Fender play and am going through it. Wasn't expecting much but it is great too. Laid out differently with somethings oddly at their last level but I'm sure they have their reasons. Tons of songs, riffs, licks, for all levels so glad I took the plunge. Been entertaining getting Paul's next course but pretty sure it's above my head for now. Maybe next year.

Paul seems to lean toward specialty or soloing (which is what I want), but no so much on feedback from guitarists who might know more. Could you please make a video review of Beginner Guitar Academy? After passing the beginner stage, you should go through "Guitar Super System" by Tyler Larsen(YT: Music is Win). I think that bundle course has everything a guitarist needs.
It’s a really helpful video and a great contribution for those who need pointers. I use Justin iPad app (3 weeks in). He has updated content for it that has better produced videos compared to the old free ones. Overall, Justin is great. I would not however say all the lessons are equal in quality. The app is more intuitive and easier to navigate than the website that suffers from incremental growth, but the app is missing some linked content like showing how to play some songs for instance. Also some of Justin songs are over simplified IMHO. I already complemented some lessons with other YT content. Andy Guitar would be a good one to check. He explains very well how to play and sing the songs. His course is very close to what Justin does.
Interesting about the app, I have never spent enough time exploring it, thanks for the info. Yes he certainly over simplify's songs but many guitar teachers do. Even in Paul's course, you start with a simple melody and then build upon it throughout the course. Will definitely check out Andy's full beginner course and see what it is like in comparison.
Do either of these courses teach how to play by reading musical notation? How do they handle theory? I just started doing Justin's course, but I am intrigued by Paul Davids because I am far more interested in fingerstyle playing than I am in just playing cords. Thanks for the comparison.

Very helpful. My fam has been doing the Tony's Acoustic Challenge for 2-months. Also, just discovered the RU-vidr Six String Fingerpicking's online program for $160. Drawn to his due to the library of strictly fingerstyle. Would like to get your perspective on either of those programs.
I've tried the Justin course a long time ago. I wasn't very impressed. It's not really a course -- it's a series of lessons. They don't seem to build on each other very well. And then the lessons don't really go in depth. It's just like, "put your fingers here, then here, then here, and do it like this, and now play this." It doesn't help me understand what I'm actually doing by putting my fingers there, other than getting something that sounds good coming out of the guitar. If Justin was to teach you how to sing the Alphabet, the first lesson would be, "A, B, C", the second would be, "J, K, L,' and you'd need the separate module, "Singing the ABCs" to learn the song part. I can understand why people who want to learn the mechanics of guitar -- to be able to develop the skills and techniques required to play popular songs -- would be very pleased with the Justin courses. But I'm interested in more than that. In fact, the mechanical process of playing the guitar is the least of my concern. It's why I'm looking up the Paul Davids course. He seems to stress things I'm particularly interested in. In his promotion he says stuff like 'Everything is connected" as in, the scales, chords, modes, etc. all have relationships, and he stresses that he wants to help teach you in a path that will build up to this understanding and then how to integrate this understanding into your playing.
If you want to learn how to play almost any song, use the Songsterr app on your phone, it's brilliant and free. Highly recommend. Justin is very good, I don't rate Paul David's tuition at all. Although not the best for absolute beginners, Brian Kelly at Zombie Guitar wipes the floor with them all, especially when it comes to clear, easily understandable theory lessons. I have no links to any of the above, but Brian Kelly and Songsterr have been a massive aid to my learning. I'd now consider myself intermediate level.
Hi, I've read above comments about you tube guitar learning. Has anyone compared Justin to Dave Tran? I'd be interested to hear some feedback on this. Thanks
İ love Paul but Justin is THE best guitar teacher of all time imo. His content is endless and structured I'm bite sized pieces that can take your hand from somebody who hasn't even held a guitar to an advanced player. Also, his training is the most complete with theory, ear training, transcription and way more. I love Paul as well, his videos are great but he gets way too technical and talks a lot about theory which I'm sure many of his subs don't actually get. i haven't done Paul's course I'll give you that but watched a tonnn of his vids so I bet I have a good grasp on his style. In any case I can't imagine he can beat Justin in comprehensiveness, ease of understanding and structure. Not to mention all Justin does is basically FREE!! (mindblown) although I paid for his music course and bought all his apps. TLDR, Justin all the way. No question.
Hey, comparison video is a great idea!! I'm wonder how will you compare these also: "Simply Guitar" by simply vs "Guitar Learning Game" by Deplike. SG (Simply Guitar) has a lot of lessons and GLG (guitar learning game) has 3D teacher and habit tracking! Let's show us which one is better :o
I took PAUL DAVIDS Beginner Course and totally satisfied with what I learned. When looking around to choose a Program, my instinct went towards Davids as he seemed more "academic". Clean & Simple. The Program was well thought out (which I anticipated) and you slowly built upon Skills. When I completed, I was surprised at my own Progress i.e. that I had learned enough to now go out into the Wide World Of RU-vid and take Justin & different Teachers "supplementals". I felt I got my money's worth & my Guitar playing continues to build. I just signed on to TONY POLECASTRO 30 Day Challenge which is light years different but incredibly good. Its motivating and keeps you disciplined. Tony is generous with his Info and definitely you get your Money's worth.
As far as time to complete. Justin Guitar. Can everyone who has finished Beginner 1 really do 30 chord changes with every chord combination of the 8 you learned at the end of module 7 of G1? Or play 5 songs?
thank you for the great comparison. I'm also in the beginning of my guitar journey, and still looking for the best online teacher/course. I stumbled upon the app "Yousician" last week. Have you ever used it? I tried the free 7 days and I'm very ambivalent whether to buy it. It's very helpful in controlling the guitar but not sure if it's a good tool in the long run.
I haven't tried it but when I took lessons for about 2 years my teacher always recommended justin whenever I was curious about a song. He is really good for beginners in my opinion.
I’m using Justins beginner app. I find it fantastic for me with all the tunes I like. I am a complete beginner (59 years of age) and it’s going to take me about 5 to 6 months to complete I reckon, practising around 1.5 hours a day. I do pay for the app.
It *really* surprises me to hear that Paul's course has no ear training, given the focus of so much of Paul's RU-vid content. It seems like that would have been one of the first things he'd have added to his program. Really, I can't describe how surprised I am.
Having tried both to learn a few basic songs. My impression was that Justin really wants to help and encourage. Paul to me is all about Paul. First impressions count for a lot.
Yeah that’s the impression I get of him after watching a few of his videos. You open a video with a title and a thumbnail that suggests that he’s going to impart some knowledge upon the viewer and it’s just him showing off. I unsubbed from his public channel because he just doesn’t offer anything of value. I think that’s the difference here… Paul is trying to get people to pay him for lessons by selling himself as a good guitar player while Justin is asking you to pay him by showing you that he’s a highly skilled educator who just so happens to be good at guitar. With Justin I very happily threw some money at him through his app and let it linger for a good bit longer than I needed to.
