I'm so glad I played this version first. With no frame of reference I got a lot more out of this game by not just seeing it as the poor man's version of the Wii U game. Rather I developed my understanding of the game from this one and just saw the Wii U version as a bigger and better version of what I already liked. And my favorite exchange came at the end. Chase: "Give up Rex, it's over." Rex: "I don't know the meaning of the word!" Chase: "Ah. I see. A poor education could account for your life of crime." Rex: "I had WONDERFUL TEACHERS!"
You're review skills are getting a lot better Josh. Your early reviews had a bit of a fanboy feel to them where you were a bit too positive, but now you seemed to be a lot more realistic and have no problem with identifying the game's faults. Great review!
Great, detailed review! Much appreciated and great job on the excellent video quality! I'm late to the party but decided to pick this up for my New 3DS after just getting the console version for my Xbox One X during Xbox's Countdown to 2018 sale. Looks like some great light-hearted fun in a world were a lot of open world games are "mature" and "dark".
If you like what you see here, and you're ok with the issues I mentioned then yeah I would say go for it. Try to look around for the best price, I noticed lots of online retailers have different prices.
Thank you for this review. Also, with the recently announced goodness the 3DS will receive throughout 2013, I'm sure TheBitBlock will be having their hands full with reviewing! And I wouldn't want to see it any other way!
It's the developers being lazy. Ever since Lego Indy 2, the portable versions of Lego games have been outsourced to the "b team", TT Fusion. All their portable games use the engine built for DS and aren't fully taking advantage of superior portable hardware. Even Wii has been getting ports of the the full console Lego games with the open worlds, sans fog problems. 3DS can do better.
1. I don't have a Wii U, but this game looks great anyways (I already preordered it already) 2. I like peace and quiet, so no background music when you're just walking around doesn't bother me, but it still wouldn't kill them to at least make it and OPTION like in MOST LEGO GAMES, I mean DUH.
Haha, I know.. 6.9 is honestly pretty low considering it's a well-made 3DS title with visuals and gameplay (missions included).. I think he was expecting a little too much. The only problem I would have is the lack of "overworld music" when exploring or on missions.
am I the only one that notices the differences between 3d and off. With it on it the framerate dips a bit more, ground texture quality is decreased, and the draw distance of floor textures is decreased,. Switch it off and on to see. Im not hating the game i just like to see how 3d is handled on different titles. My son and i are currently loving it , At least it has 2 save slots
I had a feeling that this wouldn't go too great because handheld versions of LEGO games (even if this one is a prequel) at times, really SUCK. Glad to hear this isn't AS bad, but still...
The Wii U may have better graphics but it is not going to get many games, The Nintendo 3DS however, is getting more games and better sales because its not a home console, it is a portable, the Wii U was released too early.
And I like your voice! And when you speak English, you don't really sound like you're from Denmark, which means you're great at the language. ;) Do you like Nintendo games, too?
So was it that the 3ds's hardware couldn't do this type of game that well or was it just the developers being lazy? Becuase I refuse to believe a game like Revelations could look so bet
*for a 3DS title?* Care to explain? There are great games on the 3DS- like Super Mario 3D Land, Resident Evil revelations, Fire Emblem Awakening, Kid Icarus, Pushmo, ect, ect...
