I was looking at them today in the Owensburo Menard's. I unfortunately was not impressed with the quality. But hay, train stuff is train stuff lol.

In my personal opinion, the diner seems to be one of the better looking buildings by Menards. I do like how Menards puts a lot of led's on their products.

It is a good looking building, but I wish it's build quality was better. It just looks like it wants to fall apart. I do like the LEDs, to.. I just wish the rest was as pleasant. Thanks tons for watching and commeting!

Doctor Bruce: You would not have car problems, if you were not maintaining and buy locomotives and passenger cars all the time. All the structures look good on your layout. Happy rails.

Reasonably priced pre-built buildings that are not as expensive as ones made by Woodland Scenics.

I stuck mine in a far corner-Piggly Wiggly, County Suites and Starbucks. Lit up like Times Square. It’s ok for a quick fix, but no more for me-too overwhelming. However, I still enjoy it.

Jack the German Shepard is on all of Menards structures. I feel that these would work best as a temporary layout, maybe Christmas display?

Jack is certainly there on all of mine…. Cloning gone out of control? The temporary layout thing is probably a really good use for these, especially with how brightly lit they are.

Yeah I agree with a lot of your sentiments on these. Kind of a hassle to try and hide the plugs when on a layout IMO. Since I model 1930-1959 in HO they make nothing I want anyway.

The really bad thing is they're on line only. I have several of the buildings and they are okay if you want already made scenes on your layout.

They look ok the quality is lacking. But some of the buildings are not in other brands like woodlands scenes ect... so there a trade off I guess the hotel looks good on your lay out

@billfusionenterprise if they were, why not have your own instead Menard or sell them only where are are not a Menard. Woodland is a expensive brand they would have to up the quality on these to sell at the Woodland prices

FYI, the backside of the country inn are two pull off walls so you can drive your trains though it (several of the building are design like this)

@@DoctorHobby Railey's roadhouse in Chesterton In. (Railfan cam site) is a BNB on the busiest tracks in the area (60-100 trains a day)

Lol…fairly sure that’ll attract a much different type of traveler than a mid-rise chain motel. And those tracks run BESIDE the ABNB, not right THROUGH the middle of a building.. an interesting place, to be sure, tho… But, FWIW, it's a feature I didn't cover---the "parking area" can be dropped in its entirety and it'll allow for the train (or whatever) to pass through. Pretty neat, but it would make the structure even more unrealistic, IMHO

@@DoctorHobby well there are a series of buildings made for compact layouts like walters thin buildings and 3/4 buildings I also remember walters having passenger cars in late 70's design to work on 15" radius

Make them your self if you have time or do it in sperts,,,not Worth the money ,fast , cheap build....you can buy led s for $10. For 20...and build it right...
