My first pair of Mesa series 1 pulled apart after just a few low stress uses. I was super worried about quality. However, I found the replacement/customer service experience to be fantastic. They said I had two options: destroy them and take a picture, or mail them back postage free, and they would repair and donate them. Replacements also came quickly, and have been working great. I would recommend xero to anyone, just because of their customer service.

For more recreational play, these should be suitable for that purpose since the lugs will offer a good amount of grip. You may also consider the TerraFlex II, which will have an abrasion resistant upper to help them stay intact when actually kicking the ball and using them that way.
