Looks good, I have my eye on this and would like to get it......but lots of games on the shelf need playing first. White Dog make some very interesting games on some rare topics and deserve support. Thanks Alexander, you and Grant work so hard.
Great review. I got Don't Tread On Me last summer and found it a very enjoyable game with very novel mechanics. And first-rate components. Even though you have to play as the Brits which was surprising. It uses a similar gauge of public sentiment as you go along. I've been looking at picking up this one too.
My wallet says curse you and your channel. Another game I'm going to order another because of you guys. Keep up the great work! You two are my go-to for war games and have been for years.
I have the 2017 rules with the errata. Just wondering if there are updated rules. My rules say you roll a die for each side in ground combat and add it to the strength. Highest wins. And helicopter troops can move as far as you want until you hit a block. Just looking for a clarification. This is my favorite game.
"The Iron Lady's War" would have been a catchier title for the game, wouldn't it?... Anyways, would this be among the best solitaire wargames for you? Any other recommendations please? Many thanks.
It's very, very good. Lots of choices, lots of unpredictability, and very challenging, without seeming to be unnecessarily punishing. I want the game to disguise how difficult it is, instead of seeing obviously the arbitrarily high numbers I have to overcome, for example.
your game reviews are ok , wonder why you do not show any game play / play through videos , you play the games so why not just run the camera while doing so
I don't think she was actually much worse than any other tory leader really, but the sheer level of vile, nasty, vitriolic, gutteral, visceral hatred she (still) gets from people is frankly astonishing. People were literally celebrating when she died, which I thought was appalling. I can understand people not liking her or what she did, but that sort of utter hatred and loathing is completely over the top and shameful (and for them to still not even be over it by now is utterly ridiculous).
@@evildrganymede no mate. I lived in Liverpool in the 80s. Her policies were literally the cause of many deaths due to poverty and riots occurred because of them. She oversaw a catastrophic, ideological crusade to transfer wealth from domestic industry to create the financial sector in London. It was a systematic dismantling driven by Keynesian economic nonsense. People in the north of the UK suffered great hardship on her watch and she was proud of it. Was I happy when she died? No..because she got to live a long happy life when she should have been punished for the chaos she wrought upon our city .. amongst others. She was by far the most vile Tory leader to have ever held office.
@@chadvader974 But that's kinda my point - you'd still write a tirade about her and can't let go of the hatred, even after she's dead. Heck, I'm not sure even the leaders of the WWII Axis powers get as much vocal hatred as Thatcher does from some quarters, and she caused far less death and misery than they did. And also frankly I think it's really bloody tiresome to see someone inevitably come along and loudly curse her name every time she's mentioned anywhere. Yes, the game has her "mug" on it - if you loathe her that much, don't look at it and don't play it, we don't need to hear a constant reminder of how much some people despise her.
@@evildrganymede so much hyperbole there it's difficult to rationalise what you are trying to say. The woman was despicable and will never be forgiven. Never. That's why you keep seeing 'tirades about her years later'. Its completely justified. I'm also perfectly entitled to have an opinion and express my feelings on whatever I want and don't need the likes of you to go censoring my speech because you seem to have a hard on for Thatcher. I can't stand her smug, cantankerous grid and I will take every opportunity I can to inform the internet of that.
