Mod idea: slap the flywheel system and other parts into a Stampede, enter a Nerf war with the enemy thinking you're ridiculous for not bringing an elite blaster with you, and waste them. The Rapidstrike has my favorite look of all the elite blasters but I still prefer the looks of the Stampede more.
I think from what i’ve heard, what the Stampede would do when you pulled the trigger is when you pull the trigger, it actually primes its own spring, therefore allowing you to prime and shoot in an extremely short time frame. And without a rev trigger, so for its time, and even now (in my opinion) the Stampede is a very unique and innovative blaster.
i had one back in the day. the problem is the action loosens up over time , and your action starts jamming and grinding darts into chunks hopefully the icon rerelease fixed that.
I feel that if it had a priming handle like the Vulcan has, it would be a lot better, because you wouldn't have to worry about the first shot delay. Also, it would make the stampede so much more fun.
Much perfer the stampede system over the noisy droneing flywheels used in modern blasters. Flywheels obviously outperform the stampade but to me, its just a lot more fun to use the stampede and I think that's what matters more when it comes to flinging foam.
Here's how these got remade: Someone on the Nerf staff was going through the 3D files for the blasters and clicked the wrong file and went "Wait, we like money."
@@1997811isaac oh i must have forgot that then cause its been 3+ years since ive had a stampede in my hands since ive made my single mag hailfire, thx for letting me know
I feel like the spring powered stampede was a good idea that, if expanded on, I think would absolutely b better than the flywheelers, mostly because flywheelers have a spool up time, whereas the stampede doesn’t. On top of this, modern day technology allows for the arm 2 b pulled back faster, maybe even eliminating the delay between the trigger pull and the shot fired
@@johnmurcott1273 that would give you like 3 shots. 9V blocks have very low energy-density. there is a good reason why the stampede runs on the big C/D cells. makes more sense to use a 3S lipo instead. the weakpoint are the gears for the priming mechanism tho, those are plastic and can easily break.
The closest to that is probably the 40-round boomco clip but that doesn't use Nerf darts and air-pump blasters in that lineup only function well with the 20-round clip that they also sell.
Motorized direct plunger systems can definitely have high fire rates and range but are limited in terms of overall output beyond using a stronger spring accompanied with a voltage mod to keep up. Flywheels have the advantage here as you can literally use even stronger motors and better wheels to chuck darts farther. That being said, I really like that weird feedback you get when firing the Stampede due to the plunger moving back and forth. Gives the blaster enough movement to feel like recoil without the actual recoil effects. If it's of any consolation, I know Nerf made more autospringers besides the Stampede but not sure what the other models are
Man this was the rich kid's toy. I was hyped when i got the stampede. Sadly it stopped working and being the dumb boy that i was, i attempted to fix it and i broke it. This brings great memories
Man, I remember getting an element for Christmas one year. The gun is nothing special, but the really cool part was that it came with a machine that launched target discs into the air. Hitting one of those always felt like such a huge accomplishment
What's funny is that the Nerf Rebelled Secret Shot is literally the Deploy in terms of concept: a blaster that has a concealed mode and a deployed mode with a push of the button. Only difference is the Secret Shot is more akin to the Magpul FMG-9
The stampede would be so good for stealth or building clearing. With a flywheel you get a big heads up but with the Stampede, you wouldn't know until it started firing.
@@ASTR0TALKSPHILOSOPHY A Hades holds 20 times the rounds and is much more ergonomic and accurate and powerful? They were talking about a blaster for quiet room clearing and I think the Hades is it
In my experience, the things the stampede is best at are looking and feeling cool and one-handed hip fire. The weight seems to be centered on the grip; so despite the weight, it is somewhat easy to use with one hand. The biggest issue I have with it is that i have to find 6 D batteries to get it to work.
I used it when i was like, 7. But i loved it because it sounded so cool and unique. It sounded better than my friends longstrike and retaliater. They always beat be with the water ones tho :(
How much do you bet that Nerf just randomly discovered a massive stockpile of N Strike blasters and decided to add the icon series logo, and sell them.
I remember when I was around 6 or 7, my aunt and uncle had gotten me the same nerf gun for my birthday (it was a stampede) and I was so happy. Seeing nerf remaking the guns again makes me happy. (I still have the two stampedes with me)
The stampede sounds like a flintlock rifle in response time. There’s a little delay before the projectile fires. Totally different reasons for the delays, but still.
Modulus is a subseries to N-Strike Elite so Nerf would have to upgrade the internals to shoot the average 70fps velocity to match if they wanna make it Elite grade, which you can do by using a stronger spring and voltage mods.
I have a retaliator... 99% Unmodded. The only thing that I modified was the sights on the barrel attachment. Didn't want to do anything too drastic to my blaster...
@Paul Martin I feel like the Nemesis is more of a significant game changer than the Prometheus. The 100-round capacity was already considered insane at the time and is still in a rifle-esque format.
i really want them to make one too, but, the way how it works with the belt you have to use the whistler darts which are slightly shorter or x-shot darts.
The Element was objectively the best looking pistol nerf ever made. Plus it has the same internals as the nitefinder making it that much better. I still have my Element with cpvc barrel, double o ring with teflon tape and silicone grease, and stronger spring and it slaps.
I had fun with the deploy when I was a kid. Keep in mind it was the only blaster I had at the time that wasn’t a pistol. I still wish I could have gotten a stampede
The stampede still sounds so satisfying. I have the OG one with a 35 round drum, it's weird to hold right handed but it feels and sounds so good to empty an entire drum.
You think that's bad, imagine having to hunt around for Rival balls after a match. Blasters like the Prometheus and Perses shoot insanely fast for foam blasters, specially the latter that you'll probably spend more time hunting for ammo than shooting. That's why my Rival primary is a Hera and a whole lotta 7-round mags duct-taped a la fast mag style and a few 12-rounders for covering fire purposes.
Every Icon explained: 1. Element: precursor of Nightfinder and Firestrike. The first true secondary pistol 2. Magstrike: pretty fun blaster, one of the only full auto air pump blaster. Maybe the inspiration for Boom co. 3. Stampede: first flywheel full auto blaster made by nerf. Precursor to the Rapidstrike, hyperfire, infinus... and the base for the legendary Stryfe. 4. Spectre: implemented revolver pistol, first one with the "tacticool" factor. Basically an upgraded maverick. 5. Longshot: big ass underperforming sniper system, but so damn cool. Blaster that deserve the Icon logo: - maverick - recon - Vulcan - raider - longstrike
I used to have a honda element, thing was great! The insulation was so good that if you got in at 30 degree weather, it would be 50 degrees in the car.
I have to say. The stampede is very good for beginner competitive modders. Because it is so easy to replace the spring and the motors which makes the gun very powerful. I did that on my havok fire
He has been doing that for a long time, it's a little joke to the og fans, me being one of them, you see, back my day, we didn't have miniguns or the infinus, we had a Reflex, and we had to share the Reflex
