A better way to visualize these graphs would be to plot noise vs temperature. As a user, I don't care about the Fan Speed %, I only care about noise and thermals. With noise vs. temp graphs, it would be immediately obvious to the viewer which cooler is more silent at the same temperature / which cooler cools better at the same noise level.

Thank you for this feedback. I’m thinking both views have merit and that should be an easy add for future videos. Do you think a snapshot at 105w is best or a cycle through the different watts would be more effective?

@@pc_analytics Multiple wattages are great, a good cooler should be silent under load and practically inaudible in an idle PC.

Have the d12l and add another a12x25r (just for aesthetics). Its performs way better. Lowering my temps no exceeding 50c on a 5700x full load, its a 5c minimum temp drop. Fan speed is max is around 60%. Note: it does not clear trident neo ddr4. You have to place the additional fan higher.

They are just 20 bucks different compare to 12A if you got another fan its the same price and less performance.

@@123-g1u why would i need more performance if my 5700x was chilling at 50c? Now with 14600k 60c. I highly doubt i need more.

I use the U12A to cool my 5950x. And it keeps Temps down below 90C until I reach about 175 watts. At 140W, which is what I have it set to with an undervolt (cinebench used to determine power) I keep below 85C, in a seasonic Q704 Syncro case. Under normal gaming loads, fan speed is locked to 40% and power draw ranges from 80w to 120w.

Total area (0:27) is completely wrong. First of all, area is mm^2 and volume is mm^3, secondly the numbers don't matcher neither area nor volume. It isn't really a relevant measure either, as it's thermal mass that's important and not the physically occupied volume. To expand on this, what is "radiator area"? You have no unit on there.
@pc_analytics

Thank you for your feedback. You are correct on volume and I appreciate you bringing that to my attention. Area should be volume and units are noted below the chart. Physical occupied volume & # of heat pipes are a proxy/heuristic for thermal mass.
@rasmusvedel
@rasmusvedel Год назад
@@pc_analytics Units for radiator area isn't listed, and physically occupied volume is NOT a proxy for thermal mass in and of itself. If you assume the same fin density, sure, but that is quite a stretch, particularly when not adressed in the slides. This is poor scientific delivery.

Hello! Will it be possible to use 3 fan @2000RPM with D12L and compare with 1 fan setup?

Eventually I plan to get to that, but it will be a while before I get to a spot to do that. Thank you for your suggestion!

@@pc_analyticsDid you tested the D12L with 2 fans?

Useless test, too technical, we want to see how it performs with popular CPUs under stress, and while also tested with underclocking.

My site has results on other CPUs. Working to expand that insight to newer AM5. However, I face financial limitations as I make no money on this work to cover the costs. 🙃
